Melessa’s Ultimate Hair Design

First off let me say I give honest and accurate reviews. This place is a complete DONT GO TO. Especially if you are dealing with the business owner. I wanted to get me wife hair done for her birthday so we look at places and saw that this place had good reviews, we look at her website and even called and talked to her. We got all the information and decided to book her. We wanted to get her hair done Friday but she told us she would not be in town and she would be at another salon on that day so she could do it Thursday evening at 7pm. We agreed and she said that the whole process would be two hours. Fast forward to Thursday evening we are 5 mins from the shop and she call at 6:50pm and tells us she is running a little late we thought to ourself ok a little late is not problem but the she says she wont be at the should until about 7:45pm. Ok I’m sorry but that is not a little late that is damn near a whole hour. So we told her that was not going to work. She told us that she had someone else at the shop that does the braiding of the hair. Another lie and miscue she told us in previous conversation that she does everything. Upon arriving at shop the lady there that does braiding (was very nice by the way and had no problem at all with her) was with another client and had to wait another 45min to even get hair washed and dryed. By this time everyone in the shop is looking like where is this lady. The time now had to be going on 9:15pm. I called my wife over and told her his was crazy and that we probably was not going to get her hair one. The other hair lady phone rings and the owner is calling her to tell her she is just now on her way. EXCUSE ME just now on your way. I tell my wife to call her and tell her we cannot wait and can she leave the hair at the shop to purchase and that we would come back in the morning and let the other lady do my wife hair. She completely brushed that off and kept saying she is not far her GPS says 55 miles. Well damn once again that another hour and change in driving to just get to the shop. By now I am pissed everyone is waiting and an apt that was supposed to be at 7pm hasn’t even begun and she has someone waiting in front of my wife. Fast forward to about 10:45 she comes strolling in. My wife has now got her hair braided by the other lady and we have just been waiting. I tell s my wife to let her know that we are leaving and the other lady has agreed to do her hair tomorrow morning. She thens get an attitude well when did yall decide this. Well we decided when you decided to come 4 hours later then what you was suppose to be here. She then once again defensive tells us well I drove from deleware just to do yall. she just wait for me to do her hair first which is another hour and then I can do you. No thank you. The funniest part now is this. She has a deal on Unilocal $ 200 for $ 300 her deal has no restrictions on it. The total for everything would have been $ 470 I present her the voucher and the remaining balance. Well you cant use that she tells us. Well why not? Because that only for clips in and only white girls get that because black girls wont pay that much… WHATTTTT. Ma’am I read the deal and terms and conditions before I brought it and it don’t have no restrictions on it. Well I am only gonna get you what you paid. No thank you then. She then tells us well I already gave you a $ 50 discount. I explain to her that on her Unilocal she had an automatic$ 50 discount just to checkin and buy hair from her so how was she giving us a break. She then tell us that Unilocal just put these deals on her and she didn’t even know. DO I have stupid written on my head. The whole tme she is just trying to scam and get more money. And the kicker is this my wife liked the other lady who braided her head she told us she would do it for $ 150 we paid her the money and made the appt. The owner got mad after she tried to sell us her hair that was not right or legit. My wife ordered 18in and 20in she tried to give my wife two 16 in and tell us it just because its a little curly and tried to stretch the hair out. Then pulls out a true 18inch and 20inch and say that they were 22inches. She got so mad hat she told the other lady to give us our money back and told her she needed to increase her price on installing the hair because we didn’t buy her hair now mind you this other lady rents a booth she pays her monthly and she can set her prices to whatever. Trust me this is by far the WORST place possible. Right before we went I saw another review and she said the same thing. Trust us or you will be disappointed. Not to mention she accepts all amjr credit cards but will only take cash. This lady is a complete fraud. Would not ever reccommed anyone to her EVER. I wish I could give no stars. And she didn’t even know what a full sew in was she was asking the girl why did she braid all my wife hair she said because she wanted a full sew in and she still keep asking well how ima put the hair in.

If I could give her 10 stars, I would! My hair looks absolutely fabulous and I am getting so many compliments. I have strawberry blonde hair and she matched the hair so well, you can’t even tell I have extentions. Worth every penny!

do not go here! I am a Caucasian woman who has had sew ins before but nothing ever like this! Firstly she is obviously horrible with keeping her schedule straight because a young lady walked in to get her weave installed 10 minutes into my 2 hour process. She told her it would be a half hour. The girl and her mom sat there for 2 hrs. I got 4 sewn in tracks and a few links at the top… I’m talking 4 strands that I did not ask for but she messed up my hair and didn’t know what else to do. Then she charges me a whole row for them ($ 175).
My hair was $ 750 total. She didn’t want me to pay with a credit card she wanted cash… Red flag. Even though her website states that she accepts cards. So I wake up the next day and am in excruciating pain. My head hurts so bad, the braids were wayyyyyy too tight. My head was bleeding and after a few hours I developed sores all over my head. I called her immediately to talk about it and she tried every which way to talk me out of getting it out. I said I wanted it out expecting to get my money back because it had only been a day. NOPE. She was 4 HOURS LATE!!! then I walk in and she is doing someone else’s hair!!! Again with the schedule. She made me wait even longer!!! She wouldn’t refund me because she said she «didn’t do anything wrong» but gave me a voucher for $ 150 as if I would ever step foot in there again! My head was bleeding!!! She is NOT multicultural as she states and has no idea what she is doing. Do not go here she is a con-​artist and all about the money!

Previously had a very painful and bad full sew in experience. Went to Melessa and came out so happy! My hair was above my shoulders and very choppy. I went in and got the braidless sew in 16in and all my hair blended perfectly. It lays almost completely flat against my head and looks so natural. I would suggest her to anyone looking to get a sew in or extensions. Also, her hair line is amazing. Great quality and REAL virgin hair.

I moved to Baltimore by myself a few months ago with no contacts on who could do a great job with sew-​ins. I searched on google, and eventually I came across great ratings on Unilocal for Melessa’s service. I am very picky about who actually does my hair because not everyone can work a sew in! Well Miss Melessa sure worked my hair! I absolutely fell in love with the service, time and care she took with my hair and I was very impressed. She washed my hair and did a simple sew-​in with a 14″/16″. I got so many compliments on my hair and I am definately making her my permanent hairstylist in Baltimore! I recommend her to anyone who is looking for quality hair service.

I had radiation when I was 40 and most of the hair on top of my head never grew back. I tried wigs for a while but I was still active in many of my pursuits and needed something that would stay on my head if I was in a softball tournament and needed to slide. Also I was single at that time and I will just let your imagination run with that. I tried various people but never had someone as good and knowledgeable as Melessa. She not only gives you a face lift (just kidding) but her weave lasts a good eight weeks before I need to see her again. She is a great person just to talk with as you go though the process and the first one that did not suggest using glue on my front part of my hair piece as she spotted something that would do the work of the glue and not the mess. now during summer softball when traveling in tournaments I do not have to run back to the motel to wash my hair to get the glue out or worry about being tossed into the pool and my hair coming off. She is the best in my book and will be in yours also.

She stucks. Please do not go here. I’m trying to warn all women like me that are looking for stylist please go to the next salon on your list. She braided my hair so tight that my hair came out, she braided every piece of hair including baby hairs and kept punching my hair when she was sewing it in. She did not blend my hair and was soooo ghetto. She talked on the phone the entire time she did my hair. Please Please Please go somewhere else.
