Good music but bartender was horrible! He charged me for an additional drink, and it took him FOREVER to figure things out. He ran my card twice, and I’m hoping they don’t follow through with charges. I am watching my account carefully, but never again. Smh.

When you write a review write in based on facts and the actual reality of what a place can offer and has to cater too. They play the norm reggae dancehall for a hour and then turn up. What you want them to do put bully Joel on and charge you $ 2 for a drink that’s not how a business make money. Good crowd real good music by DJ Reddz and no cover fee tonight I saw. If you ain’t got no money stay at home and this is not Buffalo Wild Wings

They play hip-hop, rap, and R&B that’s what attracts a lot of people BUT I will never go there again!!! The STAFF, BARTENDERS, FRONTDOORMEN, ANDSECURITY are extremely rude. I have never been treated so poorly and all they wanted was money and after that your treatED like cattle. I have been to many of bars, lounges, and clubs and have never been treated with such poor customer service at all. There is a 15 $ minimum with using credit cards at the bar and at that point with the door fee 10 $, and rude customer service I knew this wasn’t the place for me. The price is no problem but the RUDE, INCONSIDERATE, &PRISONLIKE treatment was unacceptable period!

Moby’s could be better. We hit this spot when we stop in Baltimore a few times now but it needs something. If you like hip hop this is the place as far as Fells PT is concerned. Has late happy hour specials up till 9pm. Other than that… just a bar.

To me, Moby’s is a decent Black nightclub option in Fells Point. I’ve been there 3 different times in different settings(1. with a date, 2. with bougie friend, 3. with ratchet friends). The crowd and music is decidedly Black with a few sprinkles of other people who have wandered in to see what the fuss is about. The music changes with the atmosphere. When the crowd decides to turn up «Knuck If You Buck» will be coming through the speakers at any given moment. When it’s twerking hour(typically when its closer to midnight or later) «Say I Yi Yi» or Juvenile is looming. The attire VARIES as each woman decides what outfit will make her sexy for the night and well some girls have an «interesting» taste. I think the only thing they don’t allow is hats. Also, after 10PM I believe there is a $ 10 cover charge unless the bouncer thinks you’re cute and in that case you can walk right in. I’d pass on the drinks though, they’re pretty watered down but the back bar sometimes does $ 5 shots of premium liquor.

Ehhh nothing to write home about. This is the only bar where you can find hip hop music down fells point consistently. But that plus is also its minus there are so many ppl in this bar its always too hot and too packed. Lets not even get into the $ 15 credit card minimum, forget paying for a drink and being on your way they will hold your card until you hit that minimum. And they are ridiculous with charging for sodas and juices. I was the designated driver last time and was charged $ 3 for ginger ale the same size as a can of soda i could get from a vending machine for 75 cents. This bar is just OK

I went to Moby’s on October 17, 2014 to celebrate my mother’s birthday. My mom passed away from cancer but I still go out and celebrate her birthday. I opened up a tap there and two days later I noticed on my bank statement that they charged my card twice. I was furious because I had to call the bank to file a claim to get my money back. I will never go there again!!! So if you go there please check your bank statement.

1st bar I came to in Baltimore city! I’d return, cool people, good music, friendly bartender. I felt like they were generous with the alcohol but my husband felt otherwise. I felt the effects after 1 drink.

Mobys used to be my every other Saturday night spot. I stopped going not for any bad reasons but because I don’t go out as much as I used to. Its a cool spot. It doesn’t get crowded until about 12 and then its like a bunch of sardines packed into a can. Too small of a space but the music is good and the crowd is ok. Sometimes there are fights when it lets out but police are always outside around 1:40. The drinks are ok. Its nothing to scream about but If you like a lot of rap and hood music then this is your spot. Anything sounds good after a few drinks though lol

We(8 of us) went to this bar to celebrate my girlfriends belated birthday. This was the only bar in Fells Point that was not packed to the gills. There was an awesome sign out front that boasted $ 2 Domestic Bottles, now that is something I can get behind. For the first 1.5 hrs it was steady, bar service was excellent, beers never sat empty. Then, it happened. This place went from semi-busy drive-y bar to full on black club. The music changed, the very large security guards showed up and the pat downs for weapons began, yes… the only bar on that end of Broadway that pats down for weapons. For the next hour we became a minority(30:1) and our treatment changed. The bartender was still good(short lesbian girl, I wish I got her name). However the«owner» decided that he didn’t want«people standing by the door». I was told«The money maker wants you guys to move». Now note that we were at the end of the bar nearest the door in a little cubbyhole with stools and even a bar on the window the entire time. There was no place to move to, the entire building was packed wall to wall. Yes, my pals had been drinking, but they were no where near obnoxious, until now they got a little upset since we had been there for 3 hours having a good time. The bouncers motioned to the bartender to give me my check and since you have to give IDAND your credit card I wasn’t given my itemized bill, just the credit card slip totaling $ 247. With a large bouncer over my shoulder, I was in no way to dispute the charges or ask for an itemized bill. This is where things got worse, the bartender was constantly apologizing to me over and over again, saying«I am so sorry, I am so sorry». I tipped her well because it wasn’t her fault of the treatment we had received. Upon us leaving our cubbyhole was immediately flooded with what I assume was friends of the owner. 6 to 8 black guys took our seats as soon as we moved. Now if that isn’t something horrible to witness after racking up a massive tab and most likely larger than that, even though I dispute the validity of the charges. This establishment knows who it caters to and if you aren’t one of them, you are out. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. Even though all the bars in the area are packed, don’t go here. Racism exists wholeheartedly at Moby’s Bar.

I enjoyed the event last night. The dance floor was active and there were some talented performers to watch as well. The happy hour specials were nice too. However, I was incensed by the fact that the bartender initially tried to refuse giving me a cup of water, saying that it was their policy to only provide bottled water for three dollars. In my opinion, any place that serves alcohol should freely provide tap water(it doesn’t cost them anything!) to prevent their customers from becoming dehydrated from the booze. Having to argue to get a cup of water put a sour taste in my mouth as far as this place goes.

Walked in, nice diverse crowd, decent music. Stepped out to go to 7 – 11 to put something in my stomach before I drank and came back to have a drink. What pissed me off first was that stupid $ 10 cover for a bar. Second is the fact that I ordered a lemon drop shot that came in a plastic shot cup and a shot of Cuervo and it was $ 15. I should have just gotten some Patron. Cuervo is a $ 5 tequila! It’s cheap so don’t play me buddy. I can pay $ 8 for a bottle of Cuervo! Then a lemon drop shot is predominately lemon juice, damn! Then she brought my receipt for me to sign and it had my full government written on the top PLUS my license number! Don’t put my personal sh! t on that receipt, floating around and if someone steals my identity you won’t take responsibility for it. That paper had my card info, full name and ID number. My full name isn’t even on my card! I have a portion of my name on my card because I don’t want my full name floating around in anyone’s system. That pissed me tf off and when I asked her about it she said«we write that info on the top of the receipt». I didn’t ask you what you did, I asked you WHY! I can clearly see WHAT you did. I asked her twice and she gave me the same information. Apparently you don’t need a brain to bartend. Then within an hour the spot went from being diverse to ghetto. A bunch of misshaped females with rude & belligerent bellies hanging out. The ratchet music was blaring and the ratchet bellies was shaking. Man…

Will is the head security and also the best security man ever. He deserves a raise. Excellent customer service and his hospitality is outstanding. Will really makes the place what it is. Would definitely come back to mobys in the future. His daughter is also the most adorable creature alive!

I used to come here for drinks with a friend quite often. The alcohol is the only thing that’s cool about this place, and maybe the music… It is a small, dingy, last resort type of place. You don’t ‘plan’ to go here, you kind of just ‘end up’ here. I’d give it 3 stars but when I tried to engage in small talk with the bouncer(he had a NY Yankees hat on and I asked if he was just wearing it or if he was from there) he had the most God Aweful f***ing attitude about it! OMG — unnecessary!

What a dump. It looks and sounds sharp enough, but if you’re passing by it, it’s likely empty, or near-empty. Why? The drinks are shit(okay, I’m hard to please, but seriously? I had to ask for four different drinks before they had the right alcohol to make one?) and they’re made weak as hell. This place serves everything in plastic and needs your license number in conjunction with your card, which I believe is indicative of a horrible crowd to be in when three people who don’t work there actually decide to go. The music wasn’t bad if you want to dance, but they decided to bump it up in an attempt to get people in. Didn’t work. The bartenders are lazy and the bouncers give me the creeps. I imagine I’ll return in six months when the place has been shut down and replaced with something decent.

Went here on a Friday night; still dead as ever. Same mediocre music, same two people dancing on the dance floor(or strips of wood due to the small size), same disappointment. Only good thing is the drink prices. On the Friday that I went, I think I broke a record for quickest time in and out of a bar. Ever.

Moby’s is a tiny hole in the wall wannabe sports bar meets wannabe dance club. I avoided this place like the plague when I lived here because it’s very much not my scene. But one night we were walking by and the door guy was imploring us to come in. After my wife said something to the effect of, «no thanks… we don’t do sports bars», he countered by saying that they were having a Brit-pop/Electroclash evening that night. It literally stopped us in our tracks, and we collectively made that Scooby Doo noise, «Huuuuuunnnnhhhh!!!» So we went inside, and sure enough, the DJ was actually playing good music. But it was also dead, because I imagine that most people like us would also never set foot in here under normal conditions. About once every 15 minutes or so, one of the more regular-type patrons would walk in, make a weird face, and leave. After that one evening, however, I never walked by while there was anything worthwhile going on inside. It went back to it’s usual *oonce*oonce*oonce*oonce* self, and I went on with my life, wondering if I had imagined the whole thing.
