Just a quick review to say, if you’re anywhere near this market in Baltimore, YOUMUSTGOHERE. This is a mini Reading Terminal Market right in Baltimore! What a pleasant surprise this new food hall was on a Sunday night, when we were looking for someplace to eat after hanging out in Ceremony Coffee(right next door), and it was actually pretty lively on Sunday night. So far what the market has to offer was oysters, crepes, cupcakes, craft beer, organic veggies, middle eastern treats, dumplings, and charcuterie under one roof. The space is very industrial looking(read as hip) and open with lots of chairs and tables to hang out at, including a ping pong table. We had a mega tail of two pigs sandwich, olives and a caprese salad from Cultured(a vendor with lots of meat and cheese plates) and washed it down with excellent cider and beer from the Taps Fill Station, and grabbed a couple of cupcakes(get the orange cream) to go. I already know that Taps and Culture might be my two favorite vendors here given the friendliness of the staff and the quality of product. This spaces hosts free yoga, and $ 1 oyster Happy Hours(you can check out events on Facebook: ). Definitely coming back to give the dumplings a try and to try out some table tennis. This place has huge potential.

LOVEIT! I can not wait to go back, there are multiple places which offer a variety of dishes. I am giving the market place a 5 star review because there’s no other place remotely like this in Baltimore. I tried breakfast tacos, fallafel wrap, everything cookies, various oysters and everything was superb. I love the atmosphere, location, the business owners, and the concept itself. My only recommendation is, the prices are KIND of high, these small plates can add up… I cant wait to go back

First visited the market this week and can’t wait to return. Ordered the dumplings to-go from Pinch, and they were awesome. Wish we could have stayed in the market longer to browse and sample some other vendors. Next trip we will leave more time for that. The variety of offerings is appealing, with an emphasis on local. I encourage all to go explore and sample!

With its creative concept, the Mount Vernon Marketplace is a terrific addition to the area. With so many food options to choose from and several bar spots, you’re sure to find something to enjoy. The building welcomes some initial wandering, exploring the different stands and unique interior design. It still seems to be developing, with new vendors moving in, but it is sure to only grow in popularity. Definitely worth checking out!

The Mt. Vernon Marketplace was a great experience. There is a variety of pop-up shops offering many options for your taste buds such as dumplings, oysters, crepes, sandwiches, sweets, and alcohol. In addition to that, there was a small shop selling clothes and even a dj/dance floor area. There are ample tables and seats for people. There is also plenty of standing space as well. The area can get a little chaotic as the night we went it was pretty busy and the lines were not well defined in front of each store. People tended to just crowd in front of the stores, but overall, it was still quite enjoyable. I love the concept of this place and would love to see this place flourish and grow. I would definitely come back again on a night when it is not so busy.

Awesome! So much to offer and it’s growing bigger in 2016. I love that the market is non compete so no vendors have the same products and you can drink a drink from one stall at another. For example you can eat food from any other vendor at Taps. They even have all the stalls’ menus on hand. Love this concept.

The Mount Vernon Marketplace is a nice venue and it seems there is still room to grow. There are a few vendors here offering a unique blend of tastes — dumplings, oysters, crepes, drinks, sweets, groceries, etc. There’s sufficient seating. Street parking is the way to go, unless you’re lucky enough to grab one of the 10 – 15 spots in the back of the building.

Really nice concept. Lots of small pop up vendors specializing in what they do best. A place to get dumplings, a place to get crepes, a place to get oysters etc. A couple of bars thrown in. For good measure lots of seating, some produce stands and dessert places. Kind of reminds of the market in the strip district in Pittsburgh, but a little more upscale. Around the back of the place they even have parking. If you want a little bit of everything and are looking for a different night out for a group, this would be a great option.

Cute marketplace in Mt.Vernon. This place has a nice vibe. We tried gourmet dumplings and oyster bar and they were both great. I love the concept of pop up restaurants where small business owners can try their concept. Would come back to try charcuterie board and cookie place.

I was honestly shocked upon walking into Mt. Vernon Marketplace, as it seems too good to be true. It has the feel of offerings in Philly, NYC, and LA and as it populates with more stands will only become better. You can find dumplings, oysters, crepes, sorbet, charcuterie, sorbet, vegan options, baked goods, alcohol, and more and it’s a cool vibe overall. I’ll definitely be coming back frequently to support this and show that Baltimore CAN have a better scene and a larger variety of options, especially in Mt. Vernon, which is lacking in a lot of variety.

Too few options to eat, but I like the concept of an indoor market place, kind of like a shiny, more expensive Lexington Market. The space feels very trendy and open, and you can tell that it is still a developing spot. I would give this another go in a few months when they are more firmly established, but right now, the limits in vendors and variety have not convinced me totally! Still, people here are really enthusiastic about their foods and very friendly to new customers.

This place is exactly what Baltimore had been missing. Foodies, fisherman, bakers and mixologists alike gather to deliver a delicious comprehensive culinary experience. A massive open industrial place is filled with local venders. Each offer a unique experience. Carve out some time and bounce from place to place to enjoy the whole experience of this fantastic market. Do yourself a favor and start at The Local Oyster. We’ve tried oysters from coast to coast and these local picks are in our top three. Nick shucked our selections with finesse and threw in a free oyster/hotsauce/beer shooter for our group. His enthusiasm for our friend after he tried his first oyster was contagious. Could have stayed and talked to this guy all day. Eat local. Eat oysters. Eat at The Local Oyster. Next we stopped at the pinch and enjoyed some delicious dumplings. With a rotating seasonal menu– classic Chinese dumplings take on a yummy twist. At Cultured, expect some classy libations and charcuterie. An extensive menu including soups and sandwiches provides maybe the most variety in the market. We had the chicken mouse(holy crap it’s good) and some stinking amazing cocktails. Though we didn’t get to all the other places– they look great. A fresh market in the corner provides local fresh fresh fresh produce. A coffee place provided some clutch caffeinated beverages. A bakery displayed some adorable cupcakes. A «tap house» not only had great beer on tap — but also wine, oils, and coffee on tap as well! Crazy cool concept. So much potential in this place. Meet for lunch. Meet for dinner. Meet for drinks. Meet for all three! You won’t be disappointed.

My co-workers have now come to visit several times. As more vendors open and become accustomed to the crowd this has become an increasingly fun place to walk for lunch. There are lots of friendly vendors to choose from, and there is a table tennis setup that you can play while you wait. The diverse choice of foods allow multiple tastes to find their perfect lunch. The location is well-lit with plenty of space to eat, relax and chat. I’ll be here often!

This place just feels good for the city. I was recently up in Philly and stopped into reading terminal which is incredible, and i thought that MtVM could turn into something like that. It already has great energy and a diverse selection of vendors. Once the kinks get ironed out, this could become a must go to place for anyone who wants to enjoy local Baltimore flavor.

Eating at the pinch and the food is amazing as well as the pumpkin shandy. All the kiosks are set to open on wed… It looks promising

Limited review of only Pinch Dumplings, as not all the stalls in the marketplace still aren’t open yet. Dumplings are okay-not terribly amazing or bad. They’re pretty pricey, and with sides it gets way more expensive than eating at a legit dimsum place and stuffing your face full. They make the dumplings by hand, which is a plus. They have delicious beer and a ping pong table, which are both nice touches. I’ll be back to try everything else in the market though!

I came here for City Dining Card’s Taste of the City event. While here I was able to try items from 2 of the Marketplaces tenants. Still a bit unfinished I was excited about some of the potential offerings. Some include Chinese Gourmet Dumplings from Pinch(the cabbage and pork fried dumplings were heaven), Fresh Sorbet(cool, refreshing and deliciously dangerous), and Craft Beer and Wine from Jailbreak Brewery(the welcome to scoville jalapeño IPA was a pleasant tasting new flavor). Though the building is not complete and all the artisans are not in, you can take a look at the schematics here: I was disappointed that the Local Oyster was not there to participate in the evening but, the food I tried was very delicious none the less! Spacious, well lit and nicely located, Mt. Vernon Marketplace has the potential to be a great alternative to those who think Lexington Market is bit too busy. I also don’t know how I feel about yet another marketplace being built in the Mt. Vernon area but, no actual new supermarket/grocery store. I guess everyone who lives in Mt. Vernon doesn’t cook. LOL! It would me nice if a few spots in the new marketplace actually sold fresh fruits, veggies and meats. Just an alternative to have once the Farmers Market under the JFX has closed. Either way, I’m looking forward to how this space will be utilized, promoted and filled with artisans. See you around.
