Disclaimer: I only write a review after visiting a place at least twice. That way I’m not giving a biased view based on one visit. If you take this place for what it is, and that is a pre-orioles/ravens pregame place and local hangout for all the young professionals/graduate students in the area, you won’t be disappointed. You will be disappointed if you’re looking for a place like Brewer’s Art or a gastropub so temper those expectations. On the other hand, this place has great happy hour specials and the usual wings/pizza/burgers are solid. They even have a crab pretzel that is full of carbs and cheese and post eating remorse(but it was so good with that PBR!). Word of caution, if you come here during a game day it will be packed. The crowd literally spills onto the sidewalk so they have bouncers to corral them inside metal gates. However, if you opt for a less drunk crowd, try a non game day or lunchtime.

AKA Buzz Kill Bar. Order was mistaken, then we were looked down upon. First of all, I’m in my late 20’s. Finally it was night away from the kiddos and we decided to get some drinks. It was great until we came to this bar. The waiter(a guy working the weekend late night shift) took our food orders). When the order came back — not what we ordered — I commented on it. He said I ordered it. Then when I said I might have made a mistake(God willing I was even going to pay for the mistake), he stomped off like a 4-year-old, throwing a tantrum. Ruined our night. Ignored us through the night. Didn’t take our drink orders. Whatever. Someone else had to give us our checks and accept our money so we could leave because a child works here. Good and drinks aren’t great either.

Great food. Great atmosphere. Right next to Camden Yards and outside bars available during game days! Great selection of food on a full menu and served until 1AM every night!

Managed to go to this place on my last two visits to Baltimore and enjoyed it. Ordered the beer pickles, steamed shrimp, and wings both times and they were all good. Actually, the pickles tasted better than expected and the food comes out really quick. It’s mostly bar food on the menu and casual atmosphere, though it can be a little loud as I tried to find a seat away from the speakers.

I’m really not a fan of their happy hour food options. The wings are pretty decent but the nachos are blah, the pizza is very disappointing.

This is a typical sports bar. It’s close to the Orioles stadium(and by close, I mean spitting distance). There is a huge crowd during game days, which makes it really fun to get in the spirit of the game. I thought that the wait staff was attentive. and the food was typical bar food. The crab pretzel was really satisfying.

Just about the perfect Baltimore sports bar… near the stadiums? Yes. Wide range of drinks(cheap mass beer to various cocktails)? Yes. Better than average bar food? Yes. Fantastic crab food you want while in Baltimore? Yes!

I had a really good quesadilla, which I was pleasantly surprised about. You can’t beat the atmosphere, because there are so many fans in one space. The bathrooms are weird though, I’d rather use a port-a-pot.

I was walking around the city exploring, had heard so much about this place I decided to check it out. Greeted with s dmilr by the waiter and other staff, the feel was very friendly. Lot’s of local people there, so I got to ask some questions about our new city. I explained my wife and I live right down the street, and everyone said, that is a geat area to live. Tom, the owner was super nice, and told me the story of the name«pickles». It was rumored that babe Ruth used to stop in there, when it was a deli type building, and get a pickle. Tom said, why mess with something if it works. Indeed! It is a local dive pub, with a good food selection, and of course drinks, and lots of TV’s for sports watching. It is right across from Camden Yards, so on a game day, there are three or four pubs in a row there, that are packed. I did not check ot the bathroom this time, I will next time.(and let ya know). :-)

What a great place for a little pregame before an Orioles game. I have been here a few times now and it’s always the first place I hit before heading to the game. They have a great setup outside too if you want to grab a beer or too before heading over to the game. The inside is quite big too so plenty of seating and not a bad alternative if it’s incredibly humid outside. I still prefer grabbing beers outside and checking out the scene prior to heading over to the game. Cold beer and and chill crowd… you can’t go wrong…

There are no expectations when we walked into a bar that reminds you of a «frat» party. Definitely a good time with lots of buzz before the game but it’s a spot to bide some time and grab some A/C. Beers were cold food was hot. Service was harried but I received what I ordered.

My friend and I flew in to catch the Mets/Orioles game on 8⁄18. We stopped by here a few hrs before the game to get something to munch on. I got a Guinness to start. We shared the honey chicken wings and pulled pork sandwich. Let us tell you, the chicken wings were one of the best we tasted. So good and not too sweet, which made it tastier. The sandy was pretty good too. Very tender. Staff was nice. I recommend anyone who wants to try the best wings in Baltimore, swing by Pickles. Overall: A

The atmosphere was loud and dark(typical pub), but the shrimp melt was amazing and really went above and beyond typical pub food!

A B’more fixture, Pickles is probably one of the first bars I went to when I was in college and pre-gaming for O’s games. Nothing spectacular or fancy, with pretty mediocre food, the best thing about this place is the vibe before a game and the proximity to Camden Yards. They’re pretty well-staffed to cope with the crowds and standing outside the pub in the sun is a wonderful way to work up a thirst for some Boh. Definitely go here before Birdland!!!

This is a classic Baltimore hangout for drinks, watching the game, and/or casual fare. It’s not much on the inside, but that’s part of its charm, I guess. The menu is fairly standard. I don’t think the food is standard fare, but they have good appetizers like the crab pretzel. They tend to have game day specials and specials for local students on regular days as well. Service can vary, but it’s a good, and affordable place to go for happy hour or game day.

I came here a couple times, and most recently before the CAA Basketball Tournament at Royal Farms Arena. The customer service/bartender was good, but I was very disappointed in the food. I ordered the buffalo wings on the Happy Hour menu, and didn’t even finish them, in fact, I don’t think I ate half of them. Not sure, if I would come here to eat again.

We had high expectations for this pub considering recent reviews and an online happy hour finder. The place is like the diveyest dive bar I’ve ever seen. However the location is great for before and after an Orioles game(right across the street from the stadium) so I can imagine it can get pretty crazy. The reason I gave the Pickles pub such a low score was because: a) the service SUCKED. There wasn’t that many people anyways so no excuse for the bartender to look at me a million times and not serve us till we waved down a second bartender. And even then, she was quite rude… threw the menus at us and didn’t even pretend to be pleasant. She was pretty friendly to what seemed like regular customers. Maybe I would have given a higher rating then. b) The normal Sunday happy hour specials that are advertised on the internet were replaced by overpriced World Cup specials that only included domestic beer in cans or $ 13 – 16 pitchers(no rails or food). That sucked… we came here just for the Sunday specials since it is so hard to find deals over the weekend. c)The only veggie friendly food we could find was the cajun fries, which were pretty good, but the serving size was honestly pitiful. $ 3.50…get out of here. I’ll probably come back after the FIFA World Cup at least once to experience the regular crowd and deals. Maybe. We’ll see.

I admit I am not much of a baseball fan. When the sun is shining and the air is warm, I tolerate baseball because of the cold beer and junk food. But on this cold rainy night, I couldn’t have cared less about what was going on inside the park. Muttering about getting suckered into taking a free ticket to an Orioles game and walking around the outside of the park, I spotted the bright green front of Pickles Pub. Pickles is a pretty big space and is somewhat open. I didn’t notice any doors and the outside air was allowed to flow through the place. As it was wet and the Orioles were in last place, the bar had a lot of people but not as crowded as I imagine it usually was. They had two good looking ladies working the bar and I stepped up and ordered a Yuengling on tap. Looking over the menu, it had a various selection of appetizers and sandwiches included fried pickles. As tempted as I was I decided to skip the pickles and go with a half a pound of boiled shrimp and another Yuengling. The shrimp came quickly and tasted great with the abundance of old bay seasoning on it. Looking around, the varous burgers and sandwiches look loaded as well. What made this place nice was that it was reasonably clean and had a lot of personality. It was also a great place for people watching and avoiding the rain.
