Good after work drink place … And you can’t beat 50 cent wings … They made them how we requested too … We also got the poppers … They seemed like they were frozen and then fried. We liked it here for the happy hour specials, big bar and close to work location … Will try again to see the quality of the rest of the food

Stopped in over the weekend. Heard about the burgers. They make their burgers from scratch, nothing frozen, all fresh, handpadded right in front of you. This place has been around for awhile. Very reasonable, and if you don’t come for the burger, they have alot of other choices. My boyfriend got the jumbo lump crab cake, and it was just that !!! No fillers, probably one of the best around. Now, back to the burger, I ordered the Black N Bleu, it was seasoned perfect, came with crumbled bleu cheese, and fresh bacon, and cooked just perfect. We sat at the bar and watched the chef prepare our food right in front of our eyes. The place is clean, and everyone treats you like they have known you for years. We will be coming back for sure to try some of the items on the menu !!! This place is a must try !!!

I guess this used to be a great local place to hang out. I wont be hanging out here. I’m from out of town and was in the area. It was Sunday and the place didn’t have allot of customers, abut 6 to 8. Heard they had really good food but was on the pricey side. Needed some where to eat so I gave it a shot. Not the cleanest place that I’ve been into, but I’ve seen worse. What really turned me off, which is my biggest grip is cleanliest in the food area. The cooking area was incorporated into the bar so you could see everything. Seamed ok, but the cook had no gloves and was touching everything in the bar… NOT GOOD. He had just got done putting his hands on the bar, than proceeded to make a hamburger patty. I put up with it, have had allot worse up camping. I told the bartender that the fry’s were the greasiest fry’s that I think I had ever come across, and all she said was «yeah but aren’t they good» I’m here to tel you the oil was dripping off the fry’s. Sorry not again

It is 1:19 am right now and the lights are on and everyone is being asked to leave. I could have sworn the last drink served in Baltimore was 2am. This is why people don’t come to places like this!

I like the PoncaBird. I just wish I had more time to hang out and drink there with friends. I’ve only gone there on weekdays, and from what I can see, they used to have much busier days. The food is very reasonably priced and made-​to-​order. If you pick up their groupon, you just picked up a legitimate good deal. They have everything you would want in a bar, besides drinks and food, such as TV’s, lotto, entertainment machines.
Just be prepared to walk up and down some long stairs.

Haven’t been there in years. Honestly can say will never go back. Burgers ordered medium whichever ame out well done. Not to mention two fight broke out early in the evening with one guy coming after another with wood dirt pick. The owners were out of control as well as staff behind the bar. The one very young guy behind bar came out with a police batton. I didn’t know bar staff was allowed to carry weapons. Worst evening I ever experience. Never go back not a safe place for anyone.

Best burgers in Baltimore? Not so sure. Very good and super cheap burgers? Most certainly. Cheap beer, great burgers and nice setting. Wish the weather was better to sit outside. The music got louder as the night progressed but overall, it was a fun experience in Dundalk.

Stopped here for lunch today, haven’t been in a few months. Boy did I miss the burger. This time I got the Black N Bleu burger, topped with bacon and bleu cheese. Oh yummie… I have tried many things here during my many visits to the Poncabird, and I have never been dissatisfied. Great staff, and always very attentive, and friendly.

FYI — this a place for burgers, cheap beer, and Keno — there’s other things but sticking to those three will leave you glad that you came.
They cook the burgers on an open grill in the middle of the bar. Large patties alway cooked well. There’s always a good char on them. They come with chips and a pickle here, no fries.
Beers can usually be had for under $ 2 each and between the Keno board and the many TVs you’ll be able to keep yourself occupied.
You can walk out of there with a full stomach and a few beers in you for under $ 20 which is always nice.

I like the feel of this «Dundalk» restaurant. It truly belongs right where it is… not quite a dump, not quite casual, this place feels Clean Blue Collar.
I liked their food and drinks when I went with a few buddies from work. The Black and Blue burger with some buffalo sauce has me wanting to go back. Check it out.

Huge 10 oz burger cooked to order right behind the bar. Fresh flavorful meat with just the right amount of char on the outside. They definitely hook you up here! It’s a really cool second story bar with windows all around… shame there isn’t a better view of the water or something. Friendly bartenders with great sense of humor

The Poncabird Pub, it’s been way too long since my last visit.
I stopped here for a burger and beer Sunday night, It’s been at least four years since my last visit to Poncabird Pub. Admittedly it’s not on your radar screen as a destination because of it’s location. It’s merely six or seven minutes from my home but sitting in the midst of heavy industry, a 95 overpass and a train yard it’s definitively off the beaten path.
The pub itself is located on the second floor of a brick building, ample free parking around the building a somewhat long walk up the stairs to the pub and your greeted with a large open floor, traditional wood pub décor with a rectangular central bar, plenty of tables the outside deck is nice and festive at night but offers little to look at.
But your not here for the view, you come here for the food.
The service was good, my barmaid was friendly and engaging.
I started with a bowl of Maryland crab soup, wow, chock full of veggies, cabbage, tomatoes, celery, onion, potatoes, peas and bits of claw. It was damn good but spicy, plenty of black pepper but nothing a cold Heineken couldn’t tame.
I decided on the 10oz burger medium rare (7.99) with Swiss lettuce and tomato. Wow, it was a beast, just huge, about six inches in diameter. nice scoring from the grill, the burger was cooked perfectly, nice and juicy and tasty. The old guy who cooks everything in the open in the middle of the bar has obviously been there some time and knows what he’s doing. I looked his way and gave him the two thumbs up for the burger he prepared for me and he gave me the Bronson 5 mile stare and eventual approving nod like I know kid, it’s what I do,… F’n awesome.
I’m defiantly stopping in for 9 dollar a pound steamed shrimp on Wednesdays soon. Now that’s a sweet deal.
They also run the snack shack on the first floor, great food there as well but will save that for another review.
The weekend crowd is lively and party time and the weekday crowd are working folks, but the common denominator here is everyone wants good eats and Poncabird delivers.
Poncabird has been serving up great burgers and pub fare for a long time as the locals can attest to.

This place is hidden off of the 95 (past the toll booth) so that means if you don’t live in Baltimore your are going to end up paying 4.00 just to visit this place. This being taken into consideration, the groupon deal suddenly wasn’t a deal.

Hers Medium
Both of them came out wrong. Hers was rare and mine was well done. The BBQ sauce looked like it was squeezed out of a silver packet that was stolen from the Circle K down the street. The burgers were huge and looked like a good value at 6.95 each. However what we didn’t bargain for was getting food poisoned. We both of us got sick from it.
I am guessing it’s because we didn’t fit in with the roughneck trucker crowd that calls this place home.
The only reason why this place even got a star was because Unilocal wont let me go any lower.
Unless you like drinking stale beer and have a iron clad gut stay away from this place.
* If you bought a Groupon from this place, just cut your losses and throw it away…

The Poncabird is not a local ornithological species, its a great little restaurant almost hidden under an overpass of I-​95. They serve these huge juicy burgers that literally take two hands to eat. If that were not enough to seek out this purveyor of gastronomical delights, they also offer steamed shrimp the way god intended shrimp to be steamed with onion and plenty of Old Bay, top that off with BBQ Ribs, steak sandwiches and some of the best crab soup to be found in Maryland (and that is saying something). Add Live bands, a new outdoor deck and I don’t think you could ask for more.
