Very disappointed with the bouncers at the concert I attended on Jan. 29th. I was seeing a friend’s band for the first time at this location, and while the venue is very nice, clean, and spacious, the bouncers ruined my night from the get-go. They took my ID and accused me of it being fake. Apparently, they do not have a real machine to scan a driver’s license to see if it is real or not… the bouncer pulled out his cell phone and fumbled for a few minutes to get some app to scan it. He then told me that it was fake, according to the app. An officer was supposedly going to come check it, and he asked me to come back in 30 mins while he kept my ID. I came back and asked, nope the officer was coming at 9pm. I returned prior to that time to see if the officer had come by. Nope. Came back at 9:45, and asked if I needed to call the police myself to come check the ID so I could have it back. Whom I assume is a supervisor gave me a lot of sass and said that I had come back to check too many times, and the officer would be arriving in the next half hour. I didn’t plan on staying that long, at which point she told me that I can’t have my ID back until I planned to leave the venue. While I won’t criticise your choice of incompetent staff, I will say that there are DEVICES that exist to check a license to show if it is fake or real. I highly suggest investing in one, then training your bouncers on how to use it, because I don’t think I’ll ever be coming back to this venue again.

Last night was my first time here. Nice venue. I liked how for a sold out show it was not heavily crowded. Lots of levels on balconies to get a view of the stage.(Except they charged an extra $ 10 to go past the 2nd level, which is worth it if you’re a shorty like me.) The fact it was all ages is nice so we could bring a 15 yr old along to the concert. The bad: as I was leaving I saw my friend on the stairs and was saying goodbye. A staff member shined a light on us and told us to move along. I get that and have no issues with that. What I have a problem with is his shining the flashlight directly IN my eyes! I couldn’t SEE the stairs or anything in front of me and he would not move the flashlight out the ENTIRE time I fumbled to feel my way down. So, imagine I’m trying to leave and go down stairs, as he’s yelling at me, yet he’s blinding me the entire time and WOULDNOTSTOP so I couldn’t move faster. I was completely sober but imagine if I wasnt? I think the guy was a total idiot and for us who moved IMMEDIATELY when he said something did not warrant that. The second bad was they wouldn’t let us leave the way we came in bc of our underage guest. Again, I get that, however, the alternate exit was shady as hell! It was a back dark alley and there weren’t any security or staff or anything in site.

Concert was great tonight. I always love shows a rams head. But the garage that is above owned by central park is the worst. It took me almost a hour to get out. The pay machine was down and the garage got extremely backed up. This is not the first time the pay machine has been messed up in this garage. Kinda ruins the night seeing a great show then sitting in a garage for a hour. I will definitely go back to Rams Head but i will park somewhere else.

Overall this is a nicer place for standing room concerts. There are three levels, multiple bars, and the bathrooms were clean and had attendants –which hey, totally makes a difference! The lower level has a bar, concessions, and clothing to the far left of the main entrance. There’s also a bar behind the main standing room area. For any general admission ticket the rule is golden– get there early for a closer spot. A cool thing was the guy working at the concession stand was super nice. But the BEST thing about this venue– which gives it 4 stars– is the lack of columns throughout the standing room. Nothing is blocking your view– You can see the stage standing anywhere. So nice! It’s your standard big-crowd-standing– close– together scene BUT without the concern of standing behind a big obstacle that keeps you from seeing the artist. Fun time. Good price. Tips: When you walk in have your ID ready to go. Also, I printed out my concert ticket and the scanners at the door had a trash can out filled with tickets. They immediately threw mine away after scanning. I was okay with it but if you’re sentimental and want to keep it, heads up! They’ll toss it without asking(at least that was my experience). A parking garage is conveniently connected to the building which makes it easier because parking in the city is typically no fun. Lastly, if you desire to see the artist after the concert, you’ll be happy to see their tour bus is right outside the main Rams Head entrance. Maybe you’ll be lucky if you get out of the venue first and can get close to the doors the artist will exit from. Give them an hour, they’ll come out and you can get that Instagram pic ;) INCONCLUSION, if you like standing room concerts, this is a great venue for you!

I visited Rams Heads Live for the first time on 10⁄3 for the Frank Turner concert. I’m a bit of a concert fiend, and have long heard of this place, so I was anxious to see what my newest venue experience would bring me. Overall, this place was a bit of a mixed bag for me. On the plus side, the convenience of the entire trip was top-notch. Per the website’s instructions, I grabbed a spot in the 55 Market Place parking garage, which had plenty of room in it, even for a Saturday afternoon. It was less than five minutes to walk from here to the venue. Yes, parking can get pricy(we paid $ 20, having arrived around 2:30 p.m. and getting out of the show close to 11:30 p.m.), but I wanted stress-free above all, and I got just that. Apparently, there’s a parking garage even closer than the one we used(in the same building as Rams Head, if I recall), so if I go back, I might try swinging that next time. Furthermore, Rams Head Live is part of Power Plant Live, which is essentially its own little self-contained plaza, basically. There’s no need to worry about navigating long city blocks with cars zipping down the road. Power Plant Live is basically a bunch of restaurants, bars and shops tucked away from the hustle and bustle. It’s an entertainment complex above all. From that perspective, this was one of the easier concert-going experiences I’ve had. You could park, walk to Power Plant Live, and kill a few hours beforehand at the restaurants/bars, then find yourself only a short 100-foot walk to the music venue. If you get in line for the show early enough, you don’t have to wait outside. The double-doors that look like they’re the club entrance actually aren’t. I asked a security guard if we were at the beginning of the line, and he said, «Nah, man, come on in.» Once through those initial glass doors, you walk down a hallfway, hook a left, bear right, walk another 30 yards or so and only THERE does the line truly begin. Entrance was pretty quick, despite an employee having problems getting tickets to scan. They didn’t frisk anybody, but they did search bags with a mini flashlight. And, yes, if you like to keep your tickets, you’re out of luck. They’ll toss them away. When I questioned this, the woman told me if I wanted a souvenir ticket to come back and talk to her after the show, saying they’d have plenty to give away. Once we got in the club, I don’t remember too much about the layout. I remember a bar along the back wall and a large bar on the left side of the club. I think the stage was directly in front. It was a short walk to the stage and, when I got there and looked back, I was shocked to see how shallow the club was. It’s not deep from back wall bar to the stage, and most of that area was shielded by a low ceiling/balcony. It’s definitely got a weird feel to it. It’s not deep, but very tall(with three levels of balconies, although I hear the top-most one costs money). It’s fairly-wide, but the extreme ends go well underneath the balconies. I got close to the barricade on the right side(stage left for the bands), and the sound there was okay. Others have commented that being under the balconies makes for a pretty bad acoustic experience, and I can see where that would be a problem. I didn’t move from the spot at all during the entire concert. Security seemed friendly enough, and I’m not sure if it was just this concert or concerts there in general, but there was little downtime between bands. My wife went to the bar once, for a cup of water, and said the bartender was friendly and joking around with her. I hit the men’s room at the end of the night and there was an attendant in there to squirt soap into my hand. They were out of paper towels, though. I didn’t drink any alcohol while there, so I can’t speak to bar prices/selection. It certainly wasn’t a bad experience by any means. I’ve heard worse sound in clubs, that’s for sure. But the layout takes some getting used to. I’d go back for the right band. At the very least, I know it’d be easy-in and easy-out, which is a huge plus for me in a city of that size.

When I entered the venue they took my ticket and threw it in the trash. This did not make me happy, since I keep my ticket stubs from the concerts I attend. This was the second time I attended a concert here. The first time was back in the spring of 2007 to see Chris Cornell. This time I was here to see Kix and the tickets were free. So, why so many years between visits? One there was no one playing here I had to see and two I have to drive to get here. The bartender(second level and left of the stage) was great. If wondering the drinks were for my wife, since I was driving. The sound is best straight back from the stage. The men’s room on the first level had a attendant, which was very old school and very cool.

Great venue, second time coming here and it was an amazing night! The sound was excellent, you could see the stage from anywhere you moved to, didn’t feel oversold or crowded, and the staff/bartenders were quick and helpful. I have nothing bad to say, this place is great. Looking forward to coming back here soon.

First time there over the weekend. Got there a little late so the view of the band was a little obscure but other than that I couldn’t have been happier. Great location, drinks aren’t overly priced. Highly recommend seeing show there.

Fun place to see a show, lots of good views! Usually pretty quick and easy to get a drink thanks to the multiple bars. Parking can get expensive, so plan for that beforehand.

Went to Rams Head Live for the first time for Dillion Francis back when winter was coming. The place is extremely cool, the downstairs dance area is spacious and can pack in the people. All of the people there were nice too and the drinks weren’t crazy expensive. You’re probably looking at 20 bucks if you’re going to a parking garage across the street and a drink of your choice. Comparable to DC for sure. The one part that got me though was the bars /clubs and all that good stuff closes at 1a. m because of the restrictions placed by the city. They don’t want drunk kids to be roaming the inner harbor during the middle of the night. That’s sort of understandable, except I was expecting to be out dawn of the morning. Keep that in mind when you visit anywhere in around Inner Harbor.

Great venue and atmosphere, spacious, but still small enough to be able too see the band. Quick bar staff, Baltimore peeps are really friendly in a crowded rock scene, no wonder they call this place Charm City. Even when I’m taking my asinine concert pics on my phone, people would duck not to block the pic as they walked by, now that’s nice of them and hence Baltimoreans are tops in my book. Also nice to see rock still rules in Baltimore, Slash/Myles/Conspirators was sold out.

Would’ve given it 5 stars if they let me out in a different way. They told me to leave in the ghetto area. It was so unnecessary because I hate the ghetto. The place was great. They got some good bands playing and some gaming consoles over there. I had a pretty fun time. Some staff were friendly over there. This wasn’t a bad place.

We came here last Saturday night to see John Kadlecik. It was a pretty small venue, so you had a pretty good view of the stage where ever you stood. The upstairs was closed, so I would imagine for bigger shows it would be a lot more crowded and busy. They have at least four bars that you can go to and get drinks at. If you get there early, the drinks are about half the price prior to the show starting. Their most expensive liquor that they had was Ciroc and they were serving that for $ 10 per drink. Beers were seven bucks but they had a seasonal(it wasn’t good) that was three dollars all night. There was a little smoking section outside that I didn’t use, but people said it was easy to step out if need be. The music we went to see was the Jerry Garcia band so as you would imagine there are a lot of hippies old and new. People were definitely smoking pot in there, so if that’s what you’re into you could probably get away with it if you’re not too obvious. I’m not sure if that’s how it is for all shows at this venue, but it’s kind of expected with this crowd. It was nice to see that security wasn’t bothering or hassling anyone, no harm no foul. The floor definitely got gross by the end with people dropping and spilling their drinks, again not surprising. The only qualm I had in the whole night was when we were walking in and I was getting my ID checked, the lady started seriously questioning me address ZIP Code etc. I was there with my parents and I’m 25 years old, you don’t work for TSA so relax.

Went here for Carnage a few weeks ago and it was a great venue! It is quite small, so I don’t think it would bode well for bigger shows but the show was sold out and the place wasn’t too absurdly packed. The security and bartenders were friendly and attentive. Their main concern in my opinion was preventing underage drinking — no big deal. Best part? Water is free! You may purchase bottled water or ask for a big full cup for free without getting the stank face from the bartenders. I loved that! The venue itself is set up where you walk in, you’ve got the main floor which was kinda small. That said, the place would be perfect for a chill concert but not so much for other types of shows. Then to the left, you’ve got a full bar and the bathrooms and other open space areas to stand up and see the stage. One of the best parts though? They’ve got an upstairs balcony with tons of space to stand and overlook the main floor/stage. There’s even a section in the middle upstairs where you can sit down. In addition to that, there are two bars on both ends upstairs and bathrooms as well that nobody knows about(hint hint, never wait in line!). I was surprised at how much extra space was upstairs and there was even a section by the back bar where you can sit and drink. Oh, and they had food! The good part is you can get super close to the stage and if you secure a good spot up on the balcony, you get one of the best views in the place. The bad part, the balcony area can get pretty packed too and it can be irksome having people constantly walking in front of you during the show. Being short, it did get to the point where I couldn’t see anything but the backdrop/lights since everyone crowding the balcony was much taller than me. There is another upper level on each side upstairs that has staggered sections so you don’t have to worry about this issue, but meh, why would you want to be in the way corner of the venue? In summary, it’s a great venue for a smaller, intimate concert, but not the best place for someone like Carnage. Sorry, but nothing tops a huge venue like Echostage for that!

I went here for Carnage and the venue probably made my experience greater than it could be. First off, water is free. This is so important because at shows dehydration can make or break the night and also it shows that someone cares about the people’s well being. Even though it isn’t that large, it was perfectly sized for the amount of people. The upstairs part was great too since it did get very hot and crowded on the main level. The only thing I did not like was that my fanny pack had to be checked in for $ 5 even though the site did not say anything about it. Other than that I hope more edm artists play here because the venue was great and a lot better than echostage

Did not know when doors open at 8PM, it actually means the show won’t start til 11PM. It was a long night of waiting. The venue was difficult to find. You have to go through this set of glass doors, and down hallway, past the ticket booth, and it’s the last door to your right. The venue is cool if you want a more intimate show in a larger venue, and not some small bar. The acoustics are great, there is ample space to dance, and you can get super close to the stage.

Review is for the concert venue only. Went for the Head and the Heart show. The place was packed, to the point that it was impossible for everyone to fit in the step-down section of the main floor, or the two upper levels(the third of which requires that a surcharge is paid!). That means the rest of the patrons are relegated to the rear/elevated part of the main floor, where the acoustics are crap and the crowd noise makes it tough to hear the music. More speakers near the rear areas would help. It’s just flat-out unacceptable for a concert venue of that size to do a poor job with sound. Also had a «clueless employee» incident, as one of the staff apparently didn’t know about the multiple stairways to the upper levels, directing me instead to the other side of the floor to the more distant stairwell, which required wading through the throngs. But that’s a minor detail in comparison to the poor sound.

Pretty awesome venue in the Live! complex in Baltimore. Close to the Inner Harbor and convenient to parking and whatnot. The venue itself is big, has pretty friendly security, and the bartenders were pretty great. They have lots of craft beer on draft at reasonable prices for a venue. I thought the sound for MDF this year was pretty great and there was room to move around. I liked the change this year and it’s a hell of a lot better than the former Sonar. I hope they continue holding the night time portion of MDF at this relatively large venue. It had lots of balcony standing room and seating, with plenty of bars to keep you from getting parched. Rock on.

Very spacious venue, I came here based of a advertisement I saw on Unilocal.Tuaca liquor company sponored Drinks and Ink. Cool concept great crowd and the DJ was awesome. The thing I really like about RamsHead Live is the amount of space they have. I didn’t get a good look at the upper level it was closed but the lower level was industrial chic(if there is some such thing). The stage was a good 10 feet off the floor, so anywhere you stood you have a great view. There are at least 3 bars on the lower level so there is plenty of room for you to get your libations on. I would definitely come back for a larger scale event!
