Sam’s Deli is one of those places that you’d drive by a million times and never think they were anything special. Truth be told, if my fiancé hadn’t lived right around the corner from this place a few years ago, I might never had tried it. They’ve got a fairly extensive menu with what you’d expect from this type of place: pizza, subs, wings, etc. They also double as a bakery that produces some very nice cakes and pastries. But it’s the pizza that makes me drive across town from Mount Vernon on a fairly regular pizza. When it comes to your basic, no-frills kind of pizza, Sam’s makes some of the best I’ve ever had. The crust and sauce are both flavorful, and they use what appear to be quality fresh ingredients. I typically go with chicken, bell peppers, and onions and I’m never disappointed. I hope more people discover this great place!
