I am a pig town resident and this is a nice close bar and restaurant. Cream of crab soup is amazing, lump crab and great flavor. Having a party in the upstairs lounge soon and I’m super excited! The upstairs is really nice and chill. Good local spot!

Wanted to find a close bar after having a delicious time at Charm City Wings. This place was only a few blocks away and my friend and I enjoyed ourselves. Business was a little slow and quiet when we initially came, since this place is so new. But as the night went on, a lot of locals started showing up and it was a fun, raucous crowd. The bartender(who co-owns the place and owns another local restaurant) was a pretty fun guy and has a ton local sports stories. I’d come back to try the food(which smelled amazing) and to have a good time. Support local places like this!

Oh it hurts so much to update this review. I had such a great time at Shakers with my husband a few nights ago that I decided to come back and bring a group of friends to watch the democratic debate! Let me say this: Shakers has such great potential in our neighborhood. I am ecstatic to have a classy place like this here. But for groups of people, it’s an awful experience. With only a handful of people in the place, they seemed unable to manage our orders and billing. We had to order food and drinks multiple times, and some food never came at all, we were given the wrong drinks… And then they had no idea who ordered what despite us clearly telling them to split the check before we ordered. Finally, cards were all mixed up with another group dining in, and I don’t think any of us paid properly for what we ordered. If Shakers got its system down for ordering and billing, I’d be more than happy to bring all of my friends here. But after such an awful and awkward experience, I just don’t see another social outing here again. What a shame.

We stopped in last night with another couple for drinks and were very pleasantly surprised. The doors were wide open, inviting us in and letting us continue to enjoy the perfect night air. The first floor bar has beautiful vintage wood paneling, making me feel like Dan Draper himself might walk in for a martini and a dangerous liaison. A nice selection of spirits and wines at reasonable prices, and they know how to mix all kinds of cocktails. If things get too busy downstairs, the upstairs offers another another well-appointed option. We arrived too late to dine, but knowing the great work owner Derek has done with The Wine Bar, we have no doubt the food will impress. Service was great, lots of fun conversation with the staff. Keep up the great work, we will be back!

Lobster Bisque was great. Hot and Dirty Martini made by Mimi was awesome.(Jalapeño stuffed olives, belvedere Vodka, dirty, dry). Old Fashioned was great as well.

I’ve been a Pigtown resident for 3 years and we have needed a bar like this. Stopped in tonight after work with my brother and his girlfriend for a drink and was so pleasantly surprised. Looks classy and elegant inside, with super friendly service. Had a glass of wine and they got beers to start. We weren’t interested in food but we took a look at their menu anyway, and it’s light fare and all sounded delicious, can’t wait to try it. Mimi made us some great martinis when we couldn’t decide on our next drink and she was hilarious. The other bartender Shia was great as well. We met one of the owners Derrick and we are definitely impressed and excited about having this place in our neighborhood. Highly recommend checking it out.
