A very funky place to grab some original sausages. The rabbit rattlesnake is pretty solid. Fun Staff

A group of us went to Snake Hill recently and really enjoyed it! There is a huge variety of sausages that my friends enjoyed, including a few vegan sausages.(I wish there had been some began, gluten-free sausages — but that’s a long shot, so I enjoyed their delicious French fries. The atmosphere was great and the servers were nice and helpful. I do wish they had air conditioning, or had more fans. They had a few ceiling fans, but we were there on a mid-70’s evening and it was sweltering because the grill is in their main room — so probably wouldn’t go there for a date till at least October.

This is a great little place! I chose this place as a date night for my wife and I because I saw on Unilocal that they did neat sausages(I’m not a big hot dog person but my wife is). The bar is really cool with Scrabble letters. They had a great beer selection, I opted to start with the wildcard — they don’t tell you what it is until after you try it, but they also only charge you 3 bucks. So the beer was good, my wife opted for house cocktails and she enjoyed hers. My wife got a duck sausage and I got the rabbit/rattlesnake sausage. They were both yummy, they have plenty of different options and combinations that would lead me to try something different next time. We also ordered a half order of onion rings and fries. The rings are good, but i wouldn’t describe them as out of this world — just solid. We upgraded the fries to whatever the option was(I forget) — it was a good choice. Also got the Sriracha Ranch as a dipping sauce — good choice as well. Overall, this is a great spot and would come here again.

Classic sausage & whiskey bar. Tried the«Brie Bird Special» which was Chicken & apple sausage, very good! Great selection of draft and canned beers as well.

Chill bar in Highlandtown with specialty sausages, cheap drinks and charm! I came here for a friends birthday event and it was great! They had a great beer selection. I didn’t get to try any of the cocktails, but I definitely will be back to try them The atmosphere is very chill and laid back. The sausages were amazing! I got to try a couple different kinds and they were all fantastic. I personally ordered the Curry Little Rabbit and some onion rings. This place is such a great local bar. I wish I had discovered it sooner!

My only complaint is that I have not visited Snake Hill sooner! I am vegetarian, and there were numerous options for me to choose from. I ordered the Chipotle Mexican Vegan Sausage, and my husband ordered the Mighty Duck Sausage– both were phenomenal. Also– the Kale Caesar Salad is amazing. They have an awesome beer selection as well as other drink options. Service was quick and friendly and the food was great– I highly recommend Snake Hill for dinner!

We checked this place out last night and enjoyed the chill atmosphere and their beer selections. The place is kind of small and the tables were full when we first arrived but we were able to grab a spot at the bar shortly after. The bartenders were helpful at selected drinks and letting us try samples of the draft beer if we had wanted to try them. Their bar top is covered in scrabble pieces which added a fun element to the bar. Definitely a nice place to grab a drink if you’re in the neighborhood or enjoy sausages since this seems to be the main thing on their menu. The only food we tried was a very large Oreo rice crispie treat that was good for an after dinner treat.

Beer selection is great. The cocktails are innovative and interesting. The bartender is cool, relateable, funny and attentive. Low key with longer tables near the back if you have more than a few people. Fries are awesome and the sausages are really yummy. Everything is at a fair price and easy to share. Really eclectic, laid-back atmosphere to have a good time with good food.

Fantastic new joint in Brewer’s Hill! I ordered the wild boar bratwurst and it was downright amazing! It is small and quaint and everything is done on the stovetop right in front of you. The beer selection is solid and it is very well priced for the quality of food. I would say this place is divey but that sounds too negative for such a quality joint!

Snake Hill is a nice addition to the neighborhood! I love the creative décor inside including the scrabble bar top and love their sausage options! I had the Rico– pork and sausage. It was delicious! Enough of a kick to give it flavor but not too much to make this spice wimp unhappy. I’ll definitely be back for a few drinks with friends and to try something else!

Beer selection is great and ever changing. Sausages selection ranges from standard to exotic to vegan. I chose the vegan option, because I’m a pussy. Pretty sure they use Field Roast sausages, which are among the best out there. I loved mine. Fries are hand cut and phenomenal. The bar is made of scrabble tiles, so finding the hidden words is half the fun when sitting at the bar. Please, shoved tube shaped, cased meats in you face.

I came here around six on a Saturday(which to me is still on the early end) and this place was packed! I’d hate to see it at 8 or 9! That said, the service here is great – both bartenders were friendly and attentive. The food came out quickly and was delicious. Great selection of draft and canned/bottled beers. Hard to think of something not to like about this place – other than wishing it were about two or three times its current size. A great addition to Highlandtown!

Snake Hill is located in an old row home in Highlandtown. There is the bar, a couple of small tables, and some communal seating in the back. The concept is fresh ground sausages at a fair price. I love that they support the neighborhood. They even give a nod to the local bakery Hoehn’s for their desserts.

Awesome joint. I used to work right in this area so it’s nice to see a neat, new option in a kind of stale area. SH is really cool inside, I liked the colors and vibe, and also enjoyed what was coming out of the speakers(The Talking Heads on this Saturday afternoon). Beer selection is similar to Rad’s and that’s more than fine for me. As for the food, we were very impressed with the selection of sausages. Most of the menu is pick your meat and pick your toppings, but there are a few«creations» that already list various toppings. I wish a few of the creation sausage sandwiches contained chicken or vegan sausages. I got the vegan apple sage sausage with peppers and whole grain mustard. NOM. onion rings were also delish. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Definitely a solid neighborhood joint and if you live in the Highlandtown/Patterson Park area consider yourself lucky.

Awesome spot! Snake Hill is in an old row home, so it is set up more like a bar than a restaurant: there is a long bar in the front, and a few small 2-person tables on the other side. Behind the bar area, there are a couple long communal tables. I think that this might get crowded, particularly if you come in a big group. It’s located in a end of the block row-home, so they have added in windows on the«long side» of the building, letting in plenty of natural light. It’s great. I came here on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch with 2 other friends. It was surprisingly crowded! We were able to snag 2 seats at the bar and the couple sitting next to us left shortly after that, so we were all able to sit. I They have a few beers on tap and a longer list of cans and bottles. I thought that the beers were pretty affordable. My friends and I ordered a few of the sausages and appetizers. I got the PhoQ(yes, pronounce it phonetically, and say it outloud). Additionally, we ordered the coleslaw, onion rings, and baked beans. I’m not really a fan of baked beans, but I thought that these were pretty good. You can’t exactly go wrong with onion rings and the coleslaw was fine, but not exactly memorable. I think that’s probably because I was entirely consumed with the PhoQ. It’s really, REALLY good! You also get the option to add 2 of the 4: sauerkraut, spicy peppers, sweet peppers, and onions. We all went with the spicy peppers and onions. The spicy peppers and a slight kick(I think, although, I may have been the PhoQ). Really damn good. My one complaint is that they can be a bit slow. The bartender seemed a bit overwhelmed and when one of my friends ordered a second round of sausages, it took her a while to put in the order. Also, it takes a while for the food to be prepared, but you can actually see them grilling the sausages and warming up the appetizers.

We are stoked to see Snake Hill just blocks away from our home! We gave it a try on a Saturday night, and very glad we got there on the earlier side to score some seats at the bar. Enticed by their sausage selection we both ordered and totally dug The Mighty Duck and split some substantial onion rings, although so many of their selections looked interesting. I look forward to take some sausage home with me to cook with, since you can get the fresh sausages to go as well. The draft and bottle beer selection features a Baltimore-centric aspect but with over thirty selections in total I’m sure anyone in the mood for a brew would find something to suit their tastes. Parking might get tricky when this place gets a bit more exposure, since it’s tucked away in a residential area. Über, accordingly.

Snake Hill has been excellent both times we’ve visited, and we’re really looking forward to trying more of their menu options. We particularly enjoy the spicy peppers, as they’ve got great heat and are tender enough to go well with the grilled sausage without the skin of the pepper being too obtrusive. The fries are excellent, especially with the spicy mayo, and the hush puppies are good(but a little oily if you take them home and reheat them). Service is quick and friendly, and the menu items change often — lots of new things to try!

Pleased to continue the trend of five star reviews! Being a denizen of the Highlandtown– Patterson Park area, I was excited when I noticed a lot of buzz on Facebook about Snake Hill. I thus arranged a pre-show(Creative Alliance, naturally!) meetup for dinner there on a Friday evening. Of course, the place was PACKED! Our group lurked by the near corner of the bar, where there was some place to stand, one spare barstool, and a group of three gals who appeared to be preparing to leave. We grabbed some beers and placed our food order as we awaited the arrival of two other friends. Not long after we dove into our quality brews the ladies at the bar departed, so we swooped in and we’re delighted to have four adjacent seats on a Friday night at a clearly happening bar! To make a long story short, we were generally delighted with Snake Hill. The sausages were among the best I’ve ever had, the craft beer selection was solid and had both local and national selections, and the service was pretty darned good for a thronged place in business less than a week. Looking forward to getting back to this great new spot with its cool bartop and cool beer taps– pool balls whose numbers correspond to the list of brews on a big chalkboard. A very, very welcome new option for the area!

I was torn on what to give Snake Hill as a rating. I am a biased Johnny Rad’s lover so it is hard not already coming into this place and loving it. When you walk in, it definitely has that corner bar feel. When you sit at the bar and see the unique scrabble bar top, you already know this place has character. When you look at the menu, you see something that is simple and concise. Sausage and Beer. Exactly what they advertise. The good news is that they do have a few other options if you are not into meat stuffed into casings; such as salads, vegan sausages, fries, hush puppies, etc. The one complaint that I am sure Snake Hill will receive is that you have to order everything at the bar. There are no servers or waiters, only bartenders. So people will certainly come in and expect to get service. So please, go to the bar and order your drinks and food! The Beer: The beer list is what I would call OK. It looks very similar to the beer list at Johnny Rad’s but they do have a few more taps then Johnny Rad’s. A lot of the beer lists in Baltimore are starting to look the same except for a couple locations. I am hoping that they will get some unique local brews or special releases on tap. I mean at this point I am convinced that the MD distributors suck, so I won’t hold that against Snake Hill. The Sausage: I ordered the Venison and Port Wine sausage with Hot peppers and grilled onions. I topped it with a little IPA mustard. Sausage was delicious. It had a good flavor and none of the gaminess that comes with some venison products. The bun the product was served on was perfect and everything just meshed together well. We started the meal with a side of hush puppies that was covered with powdered sugar and a side of butter. They were super good. We also had a side of onion rings. The batter on the rings was great. If I had one complaint on the onion rings, I wish they were salted after they came out of the fryer. I like a little more salt on my fried goodness. Overall, this is a great addition to the Highlandtown/Patterson Park area. I will definitely be coming back to enjoy some more of the crazy sausage combos that they have(Duck and Bacon Sausage). Additionally, I will attempt to locate ALL the words and phrases they put into that scrabble bar!

Loving this new addition to the neighborhood! During happy hour, you can get $ 2 off your draft beer, which you can order by pool ball number, stripe or solids. The food, vibe, and drinks are all great and welcoming. I had the Phở Q, which really tastes just like Phở, and let’s be real, it was Phở Q ing fun to ask for ;) I can’t wait to come back and try one of their others with the free toppings and the dipping sauces!
