They have the literally best chorizo nachos ever. The only reason I’m giving it a 4 stars is because everything else is actually not very good. But the nachos seriously keep it relevant.

This place is good. However, it has been closed since early March of 2012, and shows no sign of reopening.(I walk by it almost every day)

I stopped in a couple weeks back on a suggestion after a friend told me about the place. I asked the staff what they suggested as the starting point for my meal and they pointed me to their hard tacos. I was excited to learn that not only do they fry their corn tortillas fresh each day, they’re also from a local tortilleria. I got a one each of the pork, chorizo and chicken and each one was fantastic. They had a featured pineapple habanero salsa that was enough for me to return for on its own. A couple of big pluses: They’re open until 3AM on weekends AND they’re BYOB. Seems like a great way to start or end my long night out in Fed Hill.

This place is pretty good! It’s not authentic mexican food, but it’s tasty tex-mex. The concept is very similar to a Chipotle or Qdoba. It’s a build your own taco/burrito or whatever. The pricing is on point. The pork bowl that I built was a little bland. I tried to spice it up with some of the inferno salsa, which was hot, but a little one dimensional. The fresh made chips were pretty awesome! They’re flaky and salty. I will go back, as I think this place will only get better. It’s only been around for about 6 weeks, so I’m sure they are working out some minor kinks. A place like this is just what Fed Hill needed. It’s open late, so it’s likely to attract late night bar goers who are sick of pizza. I would suggest they use a different rice. Currently, they’re using a softer long grain rice, much like basmati. I feel it gets lost in the dish. I’d recommend using a shorter sturdier variety to balance out the rest of the hardy ingredients.

This place has potential. I hope they stick around and get better at what they do. The place is nice and clean, with TVs and fountain pop(refillable diet coke is a big plus in my world). We got a bowl and soft tacos with chips and queso. The restaurant was desolated when we came in on a Thursday evening around 8PM. The queso was good. Although there was a dude frying chips when we came in, we got old chips that were stale(I’m guessing the fresh ones were pretty good). There is a selection of ingredients for your meal just like Chipotle. This is where things fell apart. The beans were not fully cooked – and crunchy beans are far from pleasant(on the plus side, this suggests that they cook their own beans!). The remainder of the ingredients were cold. Anyway, we could tell that the meal would have been good if the preparation had been adequately executed, so we’ll try back again after they have a chance to get on their feet!

I had the fish tacos(crispy), and they were really good. I was a little apprehensive after reading the reviews here, but I really liked them. They cooked the fish to order, which took time, but was worth it. The taco shells were crunchy, and the toppings were good, especially the guacamole. Also, the staff was nice and friendly.

Not sure what the deal is with the negative review… I hope the traffic to this new place picks up soon as I’d love to see it stick around. I’ve been here about 4 times since it opened and have been thoroughly satisfied each and every time. It’s clean and there’s plenty of seating with TVs tuned to ESPN, etc. Service has been quick and friendly, although I have to admit I was the only one in there the last couple times. The food: These are by no means authentic Mexican tacos, but they’re about as good as you can get in terms of Americanized Tex-Mex style tacos. I’ve tried the steak and pork thus far, and both have been tender and flavorful every time(my fiancé had the fish and that was grilled while we waited and delicious). In terms of toppings, you can’t go wrong, especially since everything is available with no additional charge(except of course guac). They have two types of rice, beans(black and refried), a nice little purple slaw for crunch, a variety of salsas(I like the corn and the pineapple options), crema, cheese, lettuce, etc. You can choose between hard or soft tacos(3 to an order), bowl, burrito or quesadilla. I’ve gone the taco option every time and I’d say that they’re very generous with the portions at the moment. I’ve never left this place hungry… Suggestions for improvement: — Some type of happy hour meal deal with tacos and queso/guac or discounted tacos — Some cheap beer offerings or BYOB — Run some promos to get new people in the door(coupons, Twitter, FB, etc.) This is a solid new go-to place for quick, delicious and cheap Tex-Mex. While it may not rival Pop Taco in terms of quality/portion size just yet, definitely don’t sleep on this place(not to mention Pop Taco is only really available for lunch and therefore people that work closeby). And definitely consider it before wasting your money at the new Chipotle… support you local small businesses!

Wasn’t impressed at all. Tacos were very bland and service was ridiculously slow. Also, while I was eating lunch there they were drilling and using a shop vac, not exactly a great way to enjoy lunch.

Great food, great service, open late night, whats there not to love? Next time you stumble out of Mothers or need a quick fix for lunch go to Taco Spot you won’t be disappointed.

This place is fulfilling a late night need in Federal Hill. Canton has Sip and Bite and we have the Taco Spot. Open late for all of your drunken needs!
