Let me preface this review by saying I am not a huge country music fan so the theme of C&R has no bearing on my opinion. C&R is without a doubt my favorite bar in the world. I’ll admit, a lot of that is because all my friends go there. But beyond that, the atmosphere is great. It’s homey and well designed so everyone can easily talk to each other. The bouncers and bartenders are all great people. When they play recognizable songs(Sweet Caroline, Proud to be an American, etc.) everyone joins in a sings. Really fun! There’s a patio extension off the bar so in the summer time it’s so nice to sit outside and watch the people go by. What really takes this place over the top is that their food is great too. The curly fries are awesome, pulled pork is flavorful, and their house salad is fresh. Not even one of those house salads with ice berg and a veggie or two. Arugula and romaine with awesome dressing and toppings.

This is my second time visiting this pub during this week. Each time I come I get the rowdy shrimp which are literally the best item on the menu in my opinion. The chicken and biscuts are also super delicious and for only $ 11 you get a good portion along with mashed potatoes. The drinks are expensive but what pub or bar doesn’t charge 6 or 7 dollars for a shot. All in all, I definitely enjoying coming here and will continue to come back.

I’ve come here for work happy hours and occasionally after work for a much needed drink. All around, a solid place. The service is okay, that’s the only aspect that I deducted a star. When it’s not busy, I find the service to be worse almost. I’m not sure if that’s because it doesn’t appear busy so there’s no need to rush or pay attention as much; I’m unsure at this point. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoy the food. The chicken and biscuits are amazing and I highly recommend this comfort food. Crushes are $ 5 during Happy Hour and there are a wide variety of other specials that are appealing.

Cool place during baseball season with local brews on tap. Can get pretty crowded after games, since the area is where everyone goes for post-game apparently. Otherwise fairly typical sports bar, didn’t try the food.

This place was utterly disgusting this past Thursday night, the entire place smelled like puke! Someone was sick, not in the bathroom but somewhere on the main floor and it was not properly cleaned up. The floor was so unbelievably sticky, I can’t think of a sticker bar floor. The ladies bathroom: half the locks did not lock, extremely dirty, about 500 fruit flies in the bathroom, entire stalls closed due to sick patrons and no staff attending to anything. Ultimately this was a rowdy, dirty, unpleasant experience.

Cool place to relax on a Sunday and grab a Shiner Bock with the added bonus of a continuous stream of country music. The staff was chill and Paige was great! I’ll be coming back here soon. The only thing this place is missing is a dance floor

The C&R pub is on S. Charles Street, just South of Cross Street Market, next to Mothers. It has a decently large space inside with a variety of seats(and could accommodate a large group) some seating is also out front on a shallow ‘patio’. The restaurant(Cowboys and Rednecks) has a country theme. One glance over the menu and you can see this theme playing out, but really, the food is standard ‘bar’ food with sandwiches, burgers, salads, and nacho type stuff. To be honest, if they shared a common kitchen with Mother’s and just rebranded the food, I wouldn’t be surprised… very similar. We were warmly greeted by(who I think was the manager) when we came in. You can sit wherever you want, so we chose to take one of the patio-esque tables. There was a ‘specials’ sheet clipped inside the menu, so if you don’t see that, it might be worth asking. They seemed to have ~5 special items for the day(Thursday). We took a few minutes to review and then put in our order. They have a variety of options for ‘fries’, things like sweet potato, maryland crab(old bay), tater tots, and the holy grail: sweet potato tater tots. So be aware of these and make the right decision. Among our group one person got a salad, one got the shrimp tacos, and I got the sweet and spicy chicken wrap. The salad was pretty significant(but was also more than the other entrees), so if you like big salads you won’t be let down. but you’re not saving any money. The shrimp tacos looked good, and there were no complaints from the guy that ordered that. My wrap was good. I had it with fried chicken and it has carrots and vegetables, all with a sweet thai chili sauce. The sauce was definitely more sweet than hot, and the sweet potato tater tots on the side were also very good. From a food perspective, everything was as expected. You’re probably not going out of your way to come back for it, but it’s good and certainly somewhere to keep in the rotation. My only complaint/concern was that our server must have been an android. She wasn’t rude, but she just seemed like he hated life. Never a smile, never a sign of emotion at all, just a flat affect… like a machine. I write it up to maybe a bad day(to which we’re on entitled), but it was definitely noticed. I would have almost preferred her telling us «I’m having a terrible day, sorry if I’m not friendly». But oh well, maybe next time she’ll be more happy. I’d be curious to check this place out at night, and see if the main business is more a night scene or the restaurant. The space looks great for coming back for drinks, so I may be following this up later.

So after dinner, we went around the corner to see what the bar life was like and stumbled upon Cowboy’s and Redneck’s. It’s a great bar and the bartender Ron was the best!!! On Tuesdays that have $ 4 shots of Fireball and Jameson, $ 5 Assorted Fruit Crush drinks and $ 2 tacos. The tacos were ok. It was typical bar food. Ron was very attentive to our needs while managing two bars and he did it seamlessly I will definitely grab more drinks from here. If in fed hill, stop by and ask for Ron

Ron the bartender was awesome! Very cool guy who appeared to be tending to mine and 2 other bars’ worth of people’s orders with grace. On Tuesday nights there are 4 $ Jameson and Fireball shots, a vast assortment of $ 5 crushes, and 2 $ assorted tacos(plus beer specials). After adding a shot of grey goose, I enjoyed my grapefruit crush thoroughly… After adding pica de gallo, I enjoyed the 2 $ chicken tacos, and I had a good time with the trivia going on as well. A great place to do some«turning UP… On a Tuuuuesday.»

I’ve gone here a few times. Weekday lunch or during happy hour has been quite enjoyable. Also have gone for brunch — don’t recommend the mimosas but the bloodies are ok. Food is decent. Good specials. Can get a bit loud, so keep that in mind.

This is one of my favorite late-night places, I always have fun at C & R. Recently, I went to trivia(Tuesdays), so I got to see it in the afternoon as well. Service was quick and friendly, and the specials are good($ 2 tacos, $ 2.75 coronas, $ 5 crushes and fireball). Word to the wise about trivia: they don’t really police it, so people cheat. A lot. Which kind of ruins the point, but is less of a reflection on the establishment than on some people who were attending.

I have only eaten at C&R for brunch but recently checked them out for dinner with a girlfriend. We enjoyed the Happy Hour specials from the patio but it started to rain and we sadly had to move inside. The music was LOUD inside and as much as I love country music, we wanted to catch up so we moved to the back of the dining room and found a secluded table to talk. I ordered the plain burger and substituted mashed potatoes for my fries. The burger was DELICIOUS but the mashed potatoes were more milk than anything and I didn’t eat much. I will be back to try some different things on the menu and hopefully enjoy my meal on the patio!

Enjoyed my first flip night and did not pay for a single beer! Tails never fails, y’all. If you want to chat with friends drinking cheap beer(if you’re lucky) and listen to some country music, C&R is the move. Very casual atmosphere, no dancing, games in the back! I also hear the Monday night $ 12.95 ribeye dinner is good and really generously portioned, so check that out if you’re in the mood!

I love country music, if I go to the bars in Federal Hill, I’m usually hanging out at C&R. I also really love hamburgers. A friend recently suggested to me that I check out C&R and order a burger. I took her advice and headed over with my friend as a dining companion. C&R by day is only slightly different than C&R by night. They continue to play some of my favorite country songs but it’s considerably less packed. After looking over the menu, my friend decided to order wings. Her current favorite is the honey old bay from The Local Fry. Instead of going with her typical old bay flavor, she decided to try the C&R BBQ Wings. These were really good and incredibly juicy and the sauce was delicious. While they’re not the best wings either of us have had in Federal Hill, they are still great. The main reason we went to C&R was for the burgers. There were a few different burgers on the menu and I decided on the Cowpoke Burger. This delicious burger was topped with candied jalapenos, crispy onion straws, and chipotle queso and served on a pretzel roll. This burger was incredibly flavorful and I loved the smokey southwest flavor. I’d order it again in an instant. If you’re looking for a great burger, or some other awesome pub grub, head over to C&R.

I loathe country music, but my friends love it so I usually lose the argument of where we are gonna go barhop and end up here at some point on the weekends. But after a few drinks, I guess I don’t mind so much. Nightlife: * Thursday night is «Flip Night,» where you bet to see if you can get a free drink. Order your drinks and then call heads or tails and the bartender flips a quarter. If you guess correctly your drinks are free! Runs only till 11 pm though. * C&R isn’t a bar where you would dance. Every time I have been here its just people standing around and drinking. Food/Drinks: I’ve only had the crabby tots here, but they are amazing! You can choose either sweet potato tots or regular tots covered with warm, delicious crab dip. And its served in a iron skillet so they stay nice and toasty for a while. I’ve also stopped by after an Orioles came and grabbed a Crush. On the weekend it’s $ 5 for an orange or grapefruit crush. Ask for a half and half crush — it tastes way better! Bathrooms: Usually clean and I’ve never seen a long line even though there’s only three stalls for women. I’d recommend C&R if you’re looking to watch a sports game during the day or if you’re looking for a more chill night out where you won’t get pushed around as much as some of the other bars nearby.

I rarely write reviews, but C&R consistently impresses me. 1) Their Crabby Tots are absolutely delicious. It’s the perfect combination of sweet potato and creamy crab dip. This is my number one recommendation if you are coming to eat. 2) Bartender Aaron makes the BEST drinks. Ask for his specialty(an A-Bomb) if you’re looking for something tasty but powerful. His upbeat personality and welcoming demeanor have made him one of our favorite bartenders in Fed Hill. 3) Manager Ryan has approached us a few times to ask how our food tasted and make sure our experience was enjoyable. I appreciated the personalized outreach and professional temperament. It’s kinda rare for a Fed Hill establishment. Plus the staff seems to love him! 4) If you’re looking to drink cheap, check out Flip Night on Thursdays. We are regulars! Even if you’re not the biggest country music fan, I recommend C&R. The atmosphere is inviting and we always seem to have a blast!

Came here for the Monday night special. And was so impressed I had to leave a review. Came in on a ravens game night, so needless to say all bars in the area were packed. We found a seat outside as soon as we arrived, and the waiter went and found us extra chairs! Then we got the steak special, which was great. I would compare it to a $ 30 steak I’ve had at a steak house. Great service on a very busy night and good was much better than expected.

Love this place during the day and at night! If you can get a spot outside during the day, this is the perfect place to post up and drink with some friends. They have a special on crushes, which can be just a little bit dangerous! And if you do happen to be here during the day, I strongly encourage you to get the crab tater tots. Literally my two favorite foods put together. Omg I’m salivating just thinking about it!
