I have ordered from here many times in the past because it’s nearby, cheap, and usually you could count on the food being decent for the price. The last time I ordered was so outrageously bad I wanted to share my experience so other could be warned stay way and save their money. I live about .2 miles from this place and I use grubhub to order, which was convenient and easy enough. The time the delivery was supposed to arrive came and went, and after 40 minutes past the time they were meant to arrive the driver arrived grumpy, rude, and not even willing to come to the porch(parked around the corner). Even when the food has been decent he has always been difficult and rude in the past. When we opened our food up it was cold and flavorless. I called to complain that we had been waiting forever for our order and that it was cold when we got it and was only met with defensiveness and evasiveness. In some kind of attempt to placate me in that moment the woman on the phone offered some mysterious vague discount which I would have no way of actually using. As someone who’s worked food service I know the correct action is to send fresh and hot food immediately so that you don’t lose a customer(especially one who orders regularly). All in all, after this experience I’m done and will be trying other places and will urge others to look elsewhere too.

Surprisingly good. Food is consistently good, fresh, and flavorful. I did not expect an inner-city Chinese takeout place to be so good. Give it a try if you never have. You’ll be quite surprised. Especially good are the shrimp eggrolls. Their entrées are fresh and not very heavily coated with sauce. Food seems authentic.

I have ordered food from here before and it was great, but this isn’t about my past orders… I’m having a hard time understanding how the meal I got this evening even remotely resembles chow mein. Normally, I wouldn’t complain this much, but chow mein involves crispy noodles fried in a pan and not those things they give you with soup(see photo). I even called and had somebody there try to explain to me that this is how it’s supposed to be. Are you serious? If I wasn’t so hungry, I’d send this back. The whole reason I ordered it was for the noodles… where are the noodles? Really disappointing to say the least.

A friend and I had lunch delivered from here today after some hijinx and shenanigans. I was expecting the usual Chinese carryout fare: greasy and flavorless, but holy shit is there a lot of it. I should have turned away when the person answering the phone seemed to be calling the restaurant by a different name. I was so very hungry though and brain not worked too good. I got an order of egg rolls and beef curry with fried rice. My friend got broccoli in garlic sauce and sesame tofu. The egg rolls were fine. They were actually pretty good. The beef curry was awful though. First of all, it just didn’t taste good. I’d get over that, but the beef was obviously microwaved, and microwaved badly. It was soggy and rubbery and hung off the the fork like a limp rag. My friend liked his food. That is until I saw him pull a clump of hair out of his mouth. Like more than just one loose strand but less than you’d find on an old brush. I’m not the kind of person who calls a business to complain, but I felt like I had to here. When I called them to tell them about the awful food they’d sent us, the response I got was, «Alright… I’ll tell the owner.» Glad to know they’re on top of their game over there.

This is the usual go-to place when coworkers want to order Chinese take-out for lunch. They have ho fun and mai fun on the menu, not too often seen in your basic Baltimore takeout/delivery places; noodles pretty tender(ho fun a little over hydrated and sticky), somewhat oily, pretty good bet. The coating on the popular meat dishes, like the GeneralTso’s and Sesame Whatever is thick, disintegrates quickly into the thick sticky sauce. Fried rice rather dark and salty. Average quality for the area.

Tian Yi’s food is awesome if you consider that it’s a Chinese Takeout place. I’ve ordered from there on several occasions, and their food has always been good. I especially like their hot and sour soup… it’s one of the most authentic versions of the soup that I’ve had from any Chinese restaurant in the Baltimore area, much less a takeout place! Portions are generous and delivery time was prompt(25 – 30 mins) on the 3 occasions that I have ordered from there.

Went to this carry out on Christmas Day with my brother. Chicken Box was fine. Too much breading on the sweet and sour shrimp turned out to be a mealy mush. Cheese steak egg roll was tasty but much too oily– ended up giving me heartburn. Half and half was supersweet– not bad. So in sum, it’s a run-of-the-mill ghetto Chinese carryout.
