I’m surprised at the overall low rating as I found this to be a really pleasant(and reasonably) priced fine dining outing. We came here to celebrate a friends birthday and Ten Ten did not disappoint. To start we shared the salmon tartare, Brussels sprouts, charcuterie board, and deviled eggs. Sprouts were the shining star(and I was disappointed to discover that obviously they deep fry them beyond recognition— still waiting for a healthy version of this recipe w the same taste result). The chips that accompanied the salmon tartare were perfectly paired. At first I just munched on one alone and was really off put by the tartness– but if you load it up with salmon goodness, the combination is perfect. For the main course we had a mix of steak frites and shrimp and grits. It wasn’t the best steak I’ve ever had, and I will note that mine was a touch more rare than medium rare [but whatever], however it was also a lot colder than I expected. I didn’t try the shrimp and grits, but my friend pawned off her kale onto my plate and it was freakin’ amazing. Again, drenched in butter and fat I’m sure, but I’m not complaining. Our server was a gem. When she overheard that it was someone’s birthday she brought over 2 comp’d deserts in addition to the one we had ordered. I loved the chocolate chip cookie and found that it had practically no saltiness to it(I HATE that. Please stop putting salt on my sweets. /endrant). We also ordered flan – my first time having it so I can’t comment on quality, but regardless it wasn’t my thing. All in all for 4 people, 4 apps, 4 entrees, 1 dessert, and 2 bottles of wine the check was just under $ 200. No complaints.

Went with another couple. Nice neighborhood. Nice looking restaurant. Relaxed feel. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Caesar salad was good not great. Would love to see more of the lettuce heart and less of the green peripheral leaf. Mine was all green and no heart. The dressing was good and the croutons were very good. My wife’s risotto was tasty and used the proper rice. My rockfish and spaetzle was excellent and they kindly omitted the salt for me. Desserts — apple pie and profiteroles were average to less than average. The layered apple pie was pretty bad. I’m a purist and their production was some sort of odd deconstruction. All in all a nice meal at a reasonable price in a nice setting. Scott Rifkin, MD

Had a great Valentine’s Day dinner with my spouse at Ten Ten. We were extremely happy that we chose this place. It is in a quaint area of the Canton/Harbor East area of Baltimore. Very close walk to all the shops and other restaurants in the area. Though it was a frigidly cold evening, we walked after dinner across the street to Whole Foods and enjoyed a stroll through the city grocery. Dinner was fabulous. The Prix Fixe menu provided several great options. Since we avoid sugar, the restaurant allowed us to substitute an extra appetizer for the dessert. We had a beet salad, cornmeal oysters, pork belly and a crab bisque for our 1st course. The bisque was amazing as was the pork belly. Come to think of it, all 4 were great. For the main course, my wife had the grouper and liked it. I had a New York Strip — prepared perfectly as medium rare. There was a touch of salt on it when served which was perfect as I am not a big salt eater. The ambience was very nice and the service was exceptional. I would absolutely enjoy another visit.

This is the first venue where I have updated my review twice, and I do so now only because of how disappointed I was this past weekend. I understand that it was still restaurant week, but that does not give these places a free pass to have slow and inattentive service. This is particularly true in a dining room that is half empty. In my first review many months ago, the big issue I had was Ten Ten’s slow service in what was a sparsely populated restaurant. Last weekend, the same issue resurfaced. In addition to the unexplained slowness, Ten Ten needs to update its beer menu. I first ordered Union Brewing Company’s Schmoke, but the waitress returned to inform me that the tap had run dry. I then ordered the Sly Fox Royal Weisse(which is on the beer list posted at the front door of the restaurant), but Ten Ten was out of that too. Is it so hard to keep an accurate list of what beers are available? In spite of the above, the real reason for a two star review was the meal. I ordered the steak frites, as I usually do, and the waitress brought me out an old piece of meat, surrounded by gristle, topped with herb butter that was still frozen. The first thing I noticed was the frozen butter, and that is probably the result of laziness; it would have taken mere seconds to melt the butter before plating it. The more disconcerting aspect was the gross piece of meat. My date had a bite, and she thought that it tasted as if it had been sitting out for an extended period of time. I ate it anyway because I have an iron stomach, but it might have made a lesser man ill.

Came here for winter restaurant week brunch this past Sunday. The restaurant itself is lovely. I love the wood and metal details. I had deviled eggs that were pretty good with a healthy amount of mustard(which I love). I also had the huevos rancheros which were pretty dry by my standards. I’m used to a perfect heap of at least two salsas over perfectly cooked eggs(one of my eggs was overcooked) and beans(this one did not include beans at all; not a deal breaker). I also have a very strong aversion to flour tortillas, which the eggs were served on, so that’s a negative. The home fries were good but just a tad bit too salty. The service was good and overall I’d return to try something else, especially since they have bottomless mimosas and beer-mosas!

I love this place! It’s the second time I have dined here and I will keep coming back. I came for restaurant week and everything I had was amazing. Fried Brussels spouts and crab rag goons were amazing! We got the braised short rib and salmon for entrees. They were both cooked perfectly and the ribs fell apart. I would def recommend this place :) also dell was our our waiter and he was so attentive and friendly!

Had been here before for brunch but came here for dinner during Restaurant Week, because the menu looks interesting with many options. The dishes are not traditional and it was almost fusion. The Cranberry-Crab Rangoon was superb, well balanced with a sweet and spicy sauce. For main, I had Grilled Salmon with Korean chili sauce, kimchi pancake, bok choy. I liked the sauce, but the bok choy seemed barely cooked but softened by the hot temperature of the fish on top, and it didn’t seem to be washed because I bit on sand several times. Not a pleasant feeling. The Profiteroles were great too. The salted caramel ice cream were not overly sweet as I was worried. Overall a great meal.

first the food: Kale Salad: Absolutely delicious! I would go back just for this and have been waiting for the next time I can have it! Truffle fries: So so sooooo delicious! Also would go back for these! Many of my friends at the table got the ten ten burger and they said it was great also!(I didn’t try for myself) Now for my story and experience: I drove here and was so happy that they had valet parking. It is on fleet street which can be a little busy so it makes it so much more convenient and frustration free! I do believe I had to pay for the valet but can’t remember. Love the ambiance inside, the lights are dim and it gives it a cozy feeling. We had a group of friends with us and needed reservations for saturday night. The service was great and our waiter was wonderful as well. We did get a «noise» complaint from a nearby table(like really its saturday night, bye boring!) but the manager was very professional in addressing it with us. The one thing I didn’t like is that we brought a cake for a friend and there was a cake cutting fee… like really… its 2016 there’s no need for a cake cutting fee. I thought that was pretty lame, and they didn’t inform us about it… I would’ve cut the cake myself if I knew… other than that everything else was great. It was a fun atmosphere and I would definitely be back… without a cake ;)

I loved this place so much. One of the primary reasons I have friends is to eat and share food with people. More friends = more food and dishes to try. So I am therefore very thankful one of my consenting buddies introduced me to Ten Ten. Everything we tried here was amazing. Our spread included: Fried green tomatoes — Dare I say it, this is the best appetizer I’ve ever had. In my life. No joke. Bold I know, but it was freaking amazing. Delicious fried green tomatoes with just the right amount of batter and of course we wouldn’t be in Maryland if it wasn’t topped with the most juiciest of crab meat. All complimented with a red pepper aolie. Perfection. Ten Ten Burger with fried egg — Everything is better with a fried egg. Korean tacos — Super tasty beef and slaw on mini crispy tostadas. So great. 20 Layer Crêpe Cake — I was full from all the other amazing food, but how can you say no to this? So light, great texture, and just fun and delicious. All of this topped off with a Macha Mule which was absolutely delicious, refreshing, and relaxing. I would come back here weekly.

Awful Awful… the salad I ordered was Caesar salad… It was mixed greens and bland dressing. The lettuce wasn’t fresh and I ended up having to get more dressing(balsamic) which was better. The salad was a joke. The veggie burger was an absolutel mess! It was dry and grainy. I swear I had to pile on mayo and BBQ sauce to get it down(I began gagging on the texture) It didn’t help that it was breaking apart. If I wasn’t on a business meeting I would’ve made a very big deal about the food. I left hungry and irritated. I’d never return unless I had to used the bathroom and/or grab a doggie treat for a stray dog.

Let me start by saying that I’m not a Harbor East kinda guy. It’s a little more polished and pricy than I like. But I had relatives in town, and it was their treat. So here’s what I can tell you about Sunday brunch. The atmosphere and décor were pleasant and tasteful, if you worry about that sort of thing. We had the place almost to ourselves, and the undivided attention of a very professional, very friendly and knowledgable waiter. The pastry board looked top notch and everyone enjoyed some. Every review mentioned the brussel sprouts. I hate brussel sprouts. I loved their brussel sprouts. The steak and eggs were as good as one could ask. The standout was the fried chicken with biscuits and gravy. Yeah, it’s a little pricey, but I guess that’s how they keep out the riff-raff like me.

Visited for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. The shrimps and grits were tasty. The fried chicken and biscuits are yummy. The chicken was crisp and tender. The biscuit was sweet and moist. The bloody Mary’s are awesome too. The place has a great urban vibe and the staff is super friendly.

They do a good job with most dishes. The restaurant can be difficult to find because there is a pizza place and another restaurant on the street(from the same group) but Ten Ten is at the end of the alley. The grilled Brussels sprouts appetizer is great, their home made pasta is very good too(it has a special name on the menu). The mussels appetizer is pretty bad and not fresh. I like the way wine is priced on Mondays(50% off bottles). The servers are all very attentive.

My first time to this restaurant and I would highly recommend it! I went alone and sat at the bar. The bartenders were extremely attentive and I was served right away. I ordered the fried Brussels Sprouts and the Steak Frites. Both were delicious and came within a timely fashion! One bartender also offered me a bread plate as well. Everything was delicious and I would definitely return again!

We stopped by here today on a whim and were both pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the service. The interior has a refined industrial quality that is simple yet inviting. We were seated right away and our awesome waiter filled our water glasses almost immediately. We were given menus and an appropriate time to look over them; it was a difficult choice as there were many items from which to choose that appealed to us both. My husband settled on the Thai chicken salad while I chose a vegetable sandwich. The sandwich was outstanding! The addition of goat cheese made all the difference for me with hummus and crunchy vegetables it was the perfect lunchtime meal. My husband enjoyed his salad as well; it had a generous portion of chicken and some very tasty fried wonton strips on top. The best part of the meal was when we were given our dessert menus with the subtle comment ‘You have room…’ And sure enough we ordered this amazing ice cream sundae that had brownie bites and homemade crackerjack. Seriously yummy! We will return before leaving Baltimore especially after we were treated to a ‘palate cleansing’ scoop of homemade nectarine sorbet! Highly recommend!

This was a MARKED improvement over our last experience with a Babgy restaurant( ). We had a gift card to use at any Bagby restaurant, and decided we’d try TenTen; the menu was a little more casual than Cunningham’s, and a lot closer to home. We made a reservation for a late dinner on a Saturday night(9:15pm), and we were seated immediately upon arrrival at 9:00pm which was nice. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with an «upscale industrial» feel. The place was crowded, which I didn’t expect for tthat hour. Service was a bit slow at the beginning of the evening, but our server Dell was incredibly sweet, and there were several large parties seated, so we didn’t mind. We started out with the devilled eggs and the salmon tartare. The devilled eggs were delicious and creamy, but nothing too crazy or creative. The salmon tartare was refreshing and citrusy; however, I dont think the homemade kettle chips are the best vehicle, even though they were also yummy. We were also given fresh sourdough bread, served with an AMAZING citrus honey butter that I wanted to eat with a spoon. For dinner, my boyfriend had planned on ordering the rockfish, but they were all out. This is understandable, because mostly everything is fresh and local(and because we got there so late) but it was still a bit disappointing. Mr. B decided on the steak frites instead. The beef was fresh and cooked perfectly, and served with deliciously spiced french fries and a creamy herb butter. I was between several entrees, but our server Dell highly reccomended the shrimp and grits. I was so blown away by the freshness of what is usually a heavy, salty dish; the grits were perfectly cooked, retaining texture and creaminess. The shrimp was spiced perfectly without being super salty, and the slices of andouille sausage were tender. On top of the dish were tender sauteed greens and a savory ttomato and seafood broth that tied everything together with a delicious bow. Despite being full, we decided that we would be crazy to skip another amazing course, and ordered dessert. I had a deep dish chocolate chip cookie, which was perfectly gooey and chocolatey, served with creamy sorbet that tasted just like sweet, cold milk. My date had the chocolate mousse, which was incredibly rich, and served with the most amazing caramel sorbet, which was creamy and caramely without being heavy. The food was to die for, but the stars of this show were the drinks and the service. Both of our cocktails were made with freshhly squeezeed juices, and were incredibly creative. Mr. B lived in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for a while and we havev encountered specialty cocktails made by celebrated mixologists, and these were honestly some of the best cocktails we have ever had. We were delighted to find that the drinks were actually the brain children of the servers! The pride every employee here had in their job was amazing to witness. Everyone worked as a team, including a manager(Will?) who bussed our table and stopped by for conversation. Everyone was incredibly nice without being insincere, and there was genuine warmth in their attitudes. We cannot wait to go back to TenTen for more amazing cocktails, more creative and fresh food, and, best of all, to see the wonderful people that work there! Bravo!

Went there for a friends birthday, it was my third time there. The food was okay I got a salad which I wasn’t impressed with. The menu is pretty small. The salad had no flavor and there was very little dressing(Caesar). The other times I’ve been the food was pretty good. The atmosphere is pretty good, loud but good. I’d recommend for a nice dinner

Came here last night to celebrate my birthday with a group of 17. I definitely recommend Ten Ten for a group dinner like this! First of all, you can make the reservation online via opentable. To be honest, that’s why I initially went with Ten Ten — I don’t have time to call around to see if restaurants could take a group on a Saturday night and whether we’d be obligated to have a prix fixe menu. I just wanna go online and make it happen. They sat us right next to the bar(convenient) at long table. The space is pretty loud(you could definitely NOT hear from one end of the table to the other) but you can get up and walk around. Really good for mingling. I started with a cocktail and ordered the Sails in the Sunset. Not my most favorite cocktail ever, but interesting in concept. It’s scotch, cinnamon, fernet, blackberry jam, lemon and house ginger beer. It’s sweet and fruity at first and then the aftertaste is a strong ginger spice. Also my friend’s boyfriend ordered me a shot of tequila and I swear it was really like 3 shots. I mean it was a VERY generous pour. For dinner we started with the fried brussel sprouts, which came highly recommended. They were good but tasted like something I could easily make at home. For that reason I probably wouldn’t order it again. And for dinner I ordered the steak frites, which was a new york strip topped with caramelized onions, house made steak sauce and hotel butter. It was pretty good but there was a LOT of unnecessary fat that could have been trimmed. The herb-parmesan fries were good but on the greasy side. My cousin ordered the shortrib and my fiancé ordered the shrimp & grits and I tried a little of both — very good! So if you want beef I recommend going with the shortrib over the steak frites FORSURE. Finally, to recognize my birthday they came out with a big warm chocolate chip cookie in a cast iron skillet, topped with vanilla ice cream and a candle. Adorable and not over the top. They also had the foresight to bring a bunch of spoons. And they did separate checks for everyone, which made things soooo much easier. So for a group dinner: go here. For the most amazing, quiet dinner of your life: probably not your joint.

We were invited back to give the service another shot, and they did not disappoint! It was surf & turf night — I opted for the lobster, hubs got the crab imperial, and both of us had the caesar salad. Steaks were cooked perfectly & the seafood was flavorful. Of course we got the brussel sprouts again — amazing as before! Service was on point & friendly. Glad we gave them another chance!

Come down S Central St and try to snag street parking before you attempt to find a parking garage. Just don’t steal my spot. There’s a parking garage for Whole Foods, buy something and get your parking validation card from the cashier. You can also park at the garage on the corner of Fleet St and S. Eden St and walk several blocks– it’s cheaper there. I just try not to walk alone late at night. Ten Ten is an unsuspecting neat place tucked off the street. It’s popularity has grown and you’ll want to make reservations on busy nights. I try to catch their specials like Tuesday Oyster nights. At first I thought Ten Ten’s atmosphere was too cold especially when it was empty. They’ve invested in the décor though and I’ve always enjoyed the food. It’s warmed up to me since they first opened and I like it because you can dress up or dress down and it’s a comfortable hang out in Harbor East. Some of the deliciousness: — Fried Brussel Sprouts — Fried baby oysters — Beet Salad!!!

I know I write a lot about the wine I pick to go with dinner. At this dinner, I learned that beer can actually pair with food just as well, if not better than wine. John Hufnagel, the chef of Ten Ten combined with Jason Hulse, certified cicerone and Yard’s sales representative for the are put together a brilliant 5 course dinner with beer pairings. The beers are selected specifically around the way it enhances the meal: complement, contrast and/or cut flavors of the food. We started with surprise complementary appetizer; a single bite of fresh heirloom, basil and house made ricotta. I definitely tasted the chopped walnuts which gave the nibble a nutty finish. It definitely set me up for wanting to try the tomato tasting menu at their sister restaurant Fleet Street Kitchen. Let me get to the pairings. First course was Yards Love Stout, a nitrogen cask style stout and Baked Bay Oysters; local old black salt oysters that are farm raised in the Chincoteague Bay. I asked lots of questions and Tim Riley had all the answers. These are small oysters are grown to be quite salty, but with a sweet finish. The Chef was certainly inspired when he created the yards love stout sabayon which rounded out the bacon, cabbage flavors. The oysters was my favorite dish of the night. Next, we had the Saison and Beer and Cheddar Soup. The soup was a thin cheddar broth made with the yards beer. Saisons are made with Belgium yeast and this one is perfect — delicately sweet and subtly spicy. I was worried about the fruity notes, then I realized we were pairing with cheese… I loved this pairing the most; with each bringing out new flavors in the other. I was also amazed at the cheese curds at the bottom of the bowl — they were melty and soft, but still kept their integrity in the warm liquid. That is science at its best folks. The soup was topped with house made soft pretzel croutons, paying homage to Yards Philadelphia home. Very classy and very well done. The food kept coming and so did the beer. Our next course was the Yards Thomas Jefferson Tavern Ale and a medium rare skirt steak from Creekstone Farms that was also marinated in the hoppy table ale. The steak came with caramelized onions on top of a small bed of lettuce and little of that panzanella — that yummy crusty bread. My favorite part was the gruyère cream — rounding out the flavors with a little creamy tanginess. I was already starting to get full and then they dropped off the pork belly. Look at the size of that portion. The pork belly comes from their own Cunningham Farms, and was roasted to perfection and served with a pickled carrots and daikon radish. I really liked the chili-caramel glaze and the combo basil and cilantro garnish. The culinary team matched this with Yards India Pale Ale. This is the first glass of IPA that I have actually finished. The beer was quite balanced and because they add the hops late in the brewing process, they do not overwhelm the rest of the bold citrusy flavors. This was not my favorite pairing. I thought that the pork belly went great with the beer, but I didn’t like the pickled salad with the beer at all. However, one of the other other attendees couldn’t have disagreed more; we clearly have different palates. I didn’t think I could eat or drink anything else — but then came the doughnuts. I don’t know how many times I can write about fried dough, but each time I am surprised and in love with the deliciousness. Three blueberry cake like dough fried to a slightly crunchy golden brown. The star of this show, however, was the malted vanilla ice cream — which was better than any malted milkshake I ever had. This was coupled with their Brawler Puglist Style Ale. I didn’t like this beer. It was far to sweet and wine like for me — missing the«cuting» or «contrasting» part of the pairing. The caramel flavors in the beer were supposed to complement the sweetness in the dessert. Jason said it was designed for folks to be able to «go a few rounds»; I’d rather have a few rounds of those doughnuts.

I now work in Harbor East, which has given me plenty of chances to cross things off of my Baltimore Restaurant List. On weekdays before 6pm, Ten Ten offers 1,000 point tables on OpenTable which made grabbing dinner there after work a quick, no-hassle option. Ten Ten happens to be one of the wonderful restaurants that are part of the Bagby Restaurant Group. The others are Cunningham’s, and Cunningham’s Café & Bakery in Towson, then Fleet Street Kitchen and Bagby Pizza Co. in Harbor East. I had already visited two of the more causal restaurants that are part of the Bagby Restaurant Group so I had high hopes for Ten Ten. Upon looking over the menu, the Fried Brussels Sprouts immediately sparked my interest. A few months ago at The Nickel Taphouse I tried fried Brussels sprouts which I loved so I decided to give these a go. They were flash fried and tossed in a seafood-chili vinaigrette and they were phenomenal. The sauce was sticky-sweet and went well over the Brussels sprouts which weren’t overly fried and greasy. I single-handedly may have devoured this large portion. My friend I was with decided to order the special for that evening which was the Surf & Turf for $ 29. That also came with the addition of a salad. She opted for the Caesar Salad which was tossed in a nice creamy dressing. For her Surf & Turf she had a piece of steak with the crab option on top. She loved the steak, it was seasoned and cooked well. However the crab on top had a cheesy component that my friend did not like nearly as much so she pushed the crab off to the side. In retrospect, she was expecting a crab cake so she should have further inquired with our waiter about the dish. But the mashed potatoes and vegetables that came with her dish she enjoyed as well. For my dish, I decided to go with the Farm Chicken. It came with duck fat roasted fingerling potatoes, asparagus, chicken and mushroom demi-glacé. This was delicious, the chicken was moist, seasoned well and a huge portion(or it’s from all of the Brussels Sprouts I ate, I can’t be too sure.) Regardless, this chicken was delicious and packed with flavor. If you’re looking for an upscale meal packed with delicious flavors, I wouldn’t hesitate to try Ten Ten. Also, Ten Ten is one of the many restaurants that I have a city dining card for.

My friend and I came for brunch during Baltimore Restaurant Week and loved it! For the appetizer, I tried the asparagus tart. The tart was really yummy and came with a side salad. For my entrée I had the huevos rancheros. It came with eggs sunny side up with avocados, pico de gallo, crema, sausage over two tortillas and a side of potatoes. I wasn’t crazy over the tortillas but the rest of the meal was delicious. I saw another at a different table order the bananas foster french toast and it looked great! Next time I come, I’ll try it out! Our waiter was probably the friendliest waiter I have ever had. He was super attentive and anticipated our needs. And the décor of the restaurant was very elegant — it looks like a great place to go on a date. There’s also plenty of metered spaces and a garage I believe near by.
