First, to the previous poster. Why would someone take the time to measure you for a custom suit if you weren’t buying one? Measuring for a custom suit is time consuming, and completely unnecessary UNLESS you intend to have the tailor give you the measurements so you can go get a suit elsewhere. Second, please don’t compare this place to Tom James. That’s like comparing Outback to Ruth’s Chris. I’ve used Tom James, and they offer nothing in the way of quality merchandise,(and talk about pushy)…oy vey. Now, having said that, there is alot NOT to like about Victor. First of all, they’re both pushy. Just try to go in there and buy shirts but NOT a suit. Second of all, they aren’t particularly responsive to complaints. They’re sitting in this«middle ground» and it might be uncomfortable. They’re clearly a step above the Nordstrom’s and aforementioned chop shops such as Tom James, but they’re a step below most other custom tailors, and it shows. I still go there for my shirts, but not for my suits. While the fabrics are VERY nice, and they are bargain priced as compared to NY or DC tailoring, the cuts really don’t come across as «custom». I find he kept making the jackets too big, and the pants would«tent» at the midsection,(I’m too old to try and impress the women anymore, so that particular problem is of no use to me. Overall, I get a better cut at a place like Nordstrom. I think if you’re a relatively easy to fit person, Victor might work for you. If your tailoring REALLY needs to be custom, I think you’re better off spending the extra bucks, and going top shelf.

I contacted this shop to schedule a time to get measured for a suit. The woman who answered stated that they were too busy to measure me unless I would buy something. I explained that I would need to see fabrics and discuss suits with them before commiting to by something, but that I was interested in having a suit made and wanted to come in to get measured. She said, «We don’t have time to measure we are too busy.» I said OK, I will go somewhere else. Then she asked if I was an existing customer. I told her I was not, but couldn’t ever see myself becoming a customer of theirs if they wouldn’t measure me. I guess I will stick to Tom James.
