Great atmosphere and excellent food. The server was very knowledgeable and gave a great recommendation for a wine pairing. I’ve lived in the area for a year and this is the best food around!

Very good, fresh juice cocktails. Excellent, interesting dishes as reasonable prices for the level of their quality. No reservations, which means I don’t go there as often as I would like. Service is excellent. Slightly noisy.

I’d probably for for a 3.5 here, but that isn’t an option. I ended up spending way more time in 11 Central than I had intended. I met a friend for a couple glasses of wine and as she was leaving another friend came in, so we stayed, had some more drinks and some dinner. Wine was reasonably priced and the drinks were tasty. I do have to tell you, I was a bit disappointed in the food we had ordered — but not so disappointed I would not try it again. We ordered the mussels which were tasty — light and fresh and a generous potion. We also had the crab cake which was a miss. There was a ton of filler and the sauces were all over the plate in a design that inevitably ended up all over the crab cake. We finished with scallops — and my heart hurt a little bit. If you are poaching a scallop, beautiful. If you are searing a scallop, beautiful. But this scallop was a confused little bugger. It appeared to have been pan seared, but there was no texture to be found. The scallop was over spinach, so I wonder if that had to do with it, or even the overall texture. All in all — I will go back and give it another go. Good drinks, cool atmosphere, nice staff.

Our favorite restaurant in Bangor, with delicious dishes(the sea bass is amazing), the steaks are great too, a fun bar and the great people who work to make each visit special.

One of my go to places in Bangor. Friendly staff, great drink and wine menu, and consistent food menu. Location is fantastic! I highly recommend the pizza!

This is a terrific restaurant: interesting menu, my selection — gnocchi and chorizo — was delicious and satisfying. Nice atmosphere and design. Bangor is lucky to have 11 Central. Minor quibble: a better screen from cold drafts when diners come and go would be appreciated by those tables near the door.

Atmosphere is absolutely fantastic! It’s like Midnight In Paris. Just beautiful or gorgeous or whatever you wanna call it!!! One of the best restaurants atmospheres, seriously. However. We found a 1 mmX 1 mm piece of glass in the chocolate cake. The waitress and the manager apologized kindly and offered us another dessert(carrot cake) but we just finished our coffee. For now, I’d give it 3 stars because the chocolate cake was just ok– even if it were glassless. We sat by the windows watching the symphony of fresh snow outside, you can see each snow flake in front of the pretty street light that’s still wearing a Christmas pine wreath. Haven’t tried food here. We came here for dessert and coffee. For atmosphere and staff, I give this place 5⁄5. The waitress and the manager were again very kind and sweet. Dear 11 Central, I hesitated to write this review, but your great positive attitude made me go ahead. Incidents happen anywhere. But nice attitude doesn’t.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Bangor. The service is top notch and the quality of the food can’t be beat. Their craft cocktails are fantastic, if you’re unsure what to order, your waiter will have wonderful suggestions. There isn’t a bad item on the menu, whatever you order, you will love. That being said, these are the items that keep me coming back: –Lobster in a Puff Pastry: do you like lobster? do you like puff pastry? Well, then you’ll love this. It’s a very basic dish, but satisfies the lobster craving with its large chunks of lobster if you’re wanting to branch out for dinner. –Bruschetta: possibly my favorite bruschetta ever as it is served almost as a platter of bruschetta! The flavor is always perfect, as must order. –Dirty Hippie Pizza: pesto with tomato, avocado, spinach, artichoke hearts, roasted red pepper and portobello sprinkled with goat cheese. If you’re mouth isn’t watering, you’re not human. This is by far and away their best pizza with the most bold and interesting flavors. I hate vegetables and I LOVE this. –Lobster Artichoke Pizza: Maine lobster claw meat and artichoke hearts with alfredo sauce. Delicious! The pizzas are made with local sauces and homemade dough and the love that goes into crafting these shines through in their taste. The ambience is trendy with exposed brick walls, black curtains as you enter and a lavender accent wall. The walls often showcase local artist’s work, as well. There are intimate small tables as well as bar seating. This a must-go if you’re just visiting or need to impress family or a loved one.

Delicious meals had by all in our party. It was our daughters 21st birthday. I had the pumpkin pie martini. Yum! Service was great. Will be back.

Drinks: Watermelon Margarita and Honeysuckle(whiskey, honey, apple juice, passion fruit). Both were good. $ 9 each. Appetizer: Did not see anything that particularly appealing. Not a big deal since entrées came with a caesar salad. Entrée: Dill Salmon Grilled North Atlantic Salmon topped with a dill cream sauce & grilled cucumbers $ 24 Sea Scallops Pan seared with local bacon from A Wee Bit Farm, fire-roasted tomatoes & shallots in a garlic cream sauce, tossed with pasta & baby spinach $ 29 Both entrées were fresh and the portion sizes were generous. Felt comfortably full after the meal. Desert: Cheese cake topped with Bing cherry sauce. $ 9 Coffee $ 2.50 Cheese cake was good but definitely overpriced. Ambiance: The dinning room was small but did not feel crowded despite it being full of patrons. The walls were covered in artwork from seemingly one artist. I did not see any information posted about the artist. Recorded upbeat music played in the background. It seemed to be coming from the back of the restaurant near the kitchen. The volume was at a good level. That might have been due to the fact we were sitting at the front of the restaurant and not closer to the kitchen. Staff: There were 2 waitresses, 1 waiter, 1 bartender and 1 host to meet the needs of everyone. The host was pleasant and quickly seated us. She directed us where to find drinks in the menu. The two waitresses seemed experienced and were appropriately attentive to the needs of their patrons. Unfortunately, our waiter is the reason this experience gets 4 stars instead of 5. He was very inexperienced. He reexplain the drink menu and did not take an order immediately. He came back 5 min later and took orders for both our drinks and entrées. He said he’d bring us the dessert menu when I still had a third of my meal on the plate. He then took 10 min to bring it. After the bill was brought it sat on the table with my credit card for at least 10 minutes while he stood at the bar. This part of the experience at 11 Central was very strange. We felt very rushed yet when it came down to it things progressed very slowly. Considering the meal cost over $ 100, I would have expected 11 Central to have provided better training for the waiter so that the entire experience was top notch. I would have been more forgiving of his lack of experience had I been at Applebee’s or Buffalo Wild Wings.

I wish I could give 4.5 stars here. The menu has everything… Nice big portions and the food is delicious! I love the 11 central salad there too. I’ve never been disappointed in a meal there and have eaten there handfuls of times. Great atmosphere, great food.

Thus was a great find. I had the Sea bass was so light yet filled with amazing flavor. My Caesar salad was fresh and the dressing had just the right amount of anchovy flavor. I will be back. Delicious

My Boyfriend and I live in Boston and are absolute Foodies– to the point of snobbery. We had the pleasure of dining at 11 Central over the Memorial Day weekend. We were so impressed with the food and even more, the service. Our waiter was Michael, and he was hands-down the best service we have ever received– even in Boston. The food was excellent! One of the best over all dining experiences ever!

For Bangor, this is a great spot. The bar is very cozy. Great spot for a drink. They have a good selection of fun cocktails. The food is good but a bit underwhelming. The atmosphere, drinks and staff are great, I just wish the food could keep up.

Underwhelmed. The atmosphere and staff are the definition of adorable. Good selection. The reportedly unbelievable caesar salad was underdressed in fact not dressed at all which made the coarsely ground pepper too intense. Our meals were under seasoned but cooked perfectly. The Himalayan sea salt on the table is a nice touch but again too coarse of a grind to properly assist. The locals rave about this spot so I if I had some salt and pepper packets I might give it a second chance.

I had the pork shop and It was ok. To sweet for my taste. It has a Carmel sauce that’s on it with cranberries, pears, and walnuts. The walnuts weren’t enough for me to counter the sweet. Bartender was nice. Decent cocktails

I wasn’t too thrilled with the Caesar salad, which seemed under rinsed with the seemingly crunchy debris but the five star overlooks this minor flaw. The stars reflect the incredible tasting Chicken Luigi and butternut squash. I came close to licking my plate clean. Skip the salad and go for the main dish. You’ll be happy you did!

WHAT A DISAPPONTMENT! Another Unilocal find and this time my fellow Unilocalers failed me. We came to the Bangor/Bar Harbor area for Memorial Day and was easily able to score a table for dinner one night. Atmosphere was romantic and slightly upscale, but certainly still casual enough for jeans and a nice shirt. Our server, Seraphina, was great — very attentive and personable. ANNNNNDDDD… cue the drumroll… that’s where most of the positives end. After having some bites at Noctureum, we decided to skip the apps and go straight to entrees. The boy had the BBQ bacon«sirloin tips». I say«sirloin tips» because for a second I thought the dish was portabello mushrooms with sirloin tip shavings. It seriously resembled dog food and I couldn’t tell you if the taste was worst than the presentation. There was an odd sweetness that smothered the tips and mushrooms and overpowered the entire dish and frankly, the chef should be fired if the thumb sized pieces of meat were classified as tips. I had the dirty hippie — essentially a veggie pizza with spinach, avocado, artichokes, and mushrooms. It was bland, though a nice variation to the typical veggie pizzas you find. Cocktails were okay, moderately priced and tasted good with decent amount of alcohol. WHATEVERYOUDO, SKIPTHESIRLOINTIPS!!!

This was purely a Unilocal find as I was just traveling through the Bangor area, and what a great experience! This place is the real deal and I couldn’t believe I found it in Bangor. We began by having the crab cake appetizer which was very tasty and had a kick built into the breading I believe. There were two delicious sauces; a sweet red sauce and a white horseradish sauce. Both were great! The lobster stew came next. 3 large lobster claws with plenty of broth. It was a sherry and cream mix. The lobster was good but the broth was excessive. They brought us some bread(only on request) that was a toasted Italian bread. Delicious! It should have automatically brought it with each course. Our Caesar salads were the following course. These were not your traditional Caesar salads. They were romaine hearts with mainly oil and Parmesan reggiano cheese. It was very very good. For our entrees my aunt ordered the sea scallops with fettuccine and bacon. These scallops were amazing! I ordered the seafood pasta which was FILLED with seafood and worth the $ 30. I had massive sea scallops, shrimp, lobster claws and smoked salmon in one dish! My only qualm was that they WAY overcooked the pasta. If you’re going to a high end restaurant I feel like cooking pasta should be a given. It may have been a simple mistake as my aunts fettuccine was cooked fine. Our service was absolutely great! Very attentive and knowledgable server. I only wish the dessert menu was printed instead of quoted to you as the desserts are very involved and sound delicious! You’d be hard pressed to find good like this anywhere close!

What a FIVESTAR experience!!! Upon entry to the restaurant, my wife and I were warmly greeted by the hostess. We did not have a reservation, yet were immediately escorted to a choice table by the window. The restaurant had a good vibe to it, with a slight buzz throughout. The diners(and staff) all seemed to be enjoying themselves. Our waiter, Kelly, promptly appeared to welcome us, and inquire about drinks or cocktails. We ordered two different wines by the glass(a Gruner Veltliner from Austria and a Syrah/Grenache blend from Australia) for which she very knowledgably shared the tasting notes of each. Upon delivering our wines, our waiter asked if we were ready to order our dinner, and we proceeded to discuss the extensive offerings of both the regular menu and the various daily specials. There was an abundance of wonderfully described dishes. Hot bread was served with our salads, and delivered throughout the meal. My wife ordered the fresh swordfish, and the chef was very accommodating to prepare the dish without the herbed butter, as is their norm. My scallops fra diavolo was exquisite, with large grilled scallops and just the right amount of heat. My request to substitute the vegetable instead of pasta was graciously provided. Dinner was completed with one order of one of the house specialties: a flourless chocolate torte, which was simply divine. Our server was attentive, unobtrusive, and thoroughly professional. This was a most satisfying dinner and experience that highlighted our two week travels throughout the Northeast. Certainly the BEST in Maine!!!
