China Light

It’s a pretty good restaurant considering the price, combined with the fact that the portions on the 60+ combo dishes are enormous. I’m not a huge fan of Chinese food or at least American style Chinese food; which for the most part is what this place is. With that in mind I still enjoy it as an occasional meal. The service is decent, they get the job and rather quickly considering how busy it can be.
I got delivery once and was amazed with how quickly they arrived, they said it was going to be upwards of 40 minutes and they got to my house in about twenty. If I did have one suggestion it would be to get delivery or take out, as the dining area can be loud, and crowded. But all in all I still consider China Light to be one of the better Chinese restaurants in Bangor.

My family absolutely loves this place! Every time we order it’s done in a timely manner and always delicious !!

It was gross. Ordered take out from here a few nights ago. The crab rangoons must have been dipped in rubber molding and not fried or baked, the egg roll seemed as if it was stuffed with cat food and the rice was as if they didn’t even make a valid attempt. I will not be eating here again.

The food is excellent, by American fast food Chinese standards.
However, despite their website being willing to take your credit card number and pass it on to them, they do not accept credit cards over the Internet, and they will make you wait 20 minutes before telling you so, and they will be rude about it.
Never again, China Light.

Food was terrible and place felt dirty.

I ordered the egg foo yung with shrimp. Was delicious, fresh, and had great flavor. Crab Rangoon was also good with the fuck sauce. Staff was fast in service and very friendly.

Cheap and fast! My college buddies and I would take breaks and come here for a quick meal. The food is greasy, but it’s also delicious. They have a very large selection of combos. It’s a hole in the wall so don’t expect much for service or atmosphere. Seating is also limited.

Just stopped for takeout lunch based on Unilocal and proximity to 95! Delicious!
They do have a small sit down area. Lots of differeent combination plates. I had the chicken with cashews, pork fried rice, egg roll and boneless ribs. Thought the egg roll was particularly good. Ask for hot mustard if you like that… normally not included.

I ordered takeout tonight from China Light for at least the 100^th time in the last decade. It was the best as usual. Good portions, great prices and quick service. If only it had a little ambiance, I could take my wife out here instead of the more expensive, less tasty «cool» places.

Food is blan! They don’t let you pay extra to substitute rice which seems silly. If you want shrimp fried rice you have to order it separate and still pay for the rice that comes with a meal. I hate wasting food so this seem ridiculous to me. The delivery timing was good. They are the only chinese delivery place in Bangor open to 10 during the week. So I had no choice but to order from here. I read all the reviews and thought it would be a good place to eat. I thought wrong. I wouldn’t order here again but thats just me.

It isn’t great but never really bad. If you are looking for a quick cheap takeout lunch. It fills a hole in your stomach

Huge portions of good Chinese food. Exactly what you’re craving when you’re thinking take out. I had chicken + Chinese veggies (water chestnuts, green pepper, bok choy, snow peas, broccoli).

Like this place, used to eat here often. Loved the Teriyaki chicken and beef on a stick as well as the Green Pepper beef. Gave it 5 stars, of course, its a fast food type place so don’t have deluxe expectations.

Tried to order by phone… I guess it was my fault for not having a menu. Woman was rude and was too busy to help with order. Ordered elsewhere. Very poor customer service.

«Light» certainly cannot be a dietary term at this place. Good God, this is the best Chinese food I have had in my entire life. Preposterously huge portions at ridiculously low prices. It’s small, trashy and awesome take out at it’s best. There’s a ‘dining’ room there, but take it home. It’s so hot anyway you’ll never finish it without burning every taste bud in your mouth. This is how Chinese food should taste. Everything I’ve had since tastes like crap compared to this. East coast Chinese food at it’s best. There isn’t a thing on the menu I haven’t had, and they have about 100 combos. I highly recommend the lo main, egg drop soup, egg foo young, fried rice, chicken fingers, eggrolls… it just goes on and on. It’s hilarious, they haven’t changed a thing in about 20 years. Their pictures in the restaurant are completely faded, but they should be! I remember the lines of tape strips on the counter ready for the take out bags, like it was yesterday. If I found a place like this in my new home, I’d eat there for a week straight. One combo feeds two, but I’d get two, just in case. Oriental Jade STINKS compared to this place. Sorry OJ, but the verdict is in!

Reasonably priced, good food, no msg. everything is done to order.
