Comfortable beds. Older décor, and the cleanliness left something to be desired. The glass door was very drafty, letting in a lot of cold air. Convenient location, and it’s nice to be able to go to Geaghan’s without even stepping outside. Be sure to try one of their craft beers.

The fleas in my room bear witness to the downside of the trend to have«pet friendly» hotels. The room was damp and dark. The towel rack fell off the wall revealing the stained towels. When I shared my experience with the woman at the front desk she was kind and friendly and took $ 20 off my bill. Less than I expected. Next time I’ll stay at a Marriott.

Next to the casino, which can be good or bad depending on your point of view. There’s a gas fireplace in each room; but other than that, this could be any chain. The rooms are forgettable, but do hit most of my bonuses: the windows open, there’s a small fridge for your own food(not crammed with mini-bar booze), and the sinks are deep enough to easily fill a water bottle. Fireside is one of the few places that accepts pets; some of my friends frequent this chain as a result, but it’s not enough of a trend to notice(I didn’t hear or see any obvious pets during this visit). The hotel restaurant /bar is Irish-themed(which seems to be the prevailing trend around here); I skipped that and headed south to the local lobster pound for some picnic-table eating instead. The casino isn’t problematically loud; most of the effect is large busses, large slow-moving groups of people, and lots of cigarette smoke outside(though none in our room). Not ideal, but not a major snag. Overall, this place was acceptable — no more, no less.

Decent hotel. Front desk crew were very pleasant. Loved the whoopie pie when we checked in. Sweet are always a nice surprise. Room was comfortable and clean. Water pressure in shower was AWESOME! I only spent one night here but was pleased. Best part was it was half the price than staying at the casino and a short little stroll to get there.

This is a nice motel in Bangor, always clean and tidy. The staff are very hospitable and try to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. There is a restaurant attached in which breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available. Good food and the prices are reasonable. The Roundhouse Restaurant is most enjoyablewith and equally friendly staff and an interesting«atmosphere» — Railroad Trains!!! Lotsa fun looking at the collection of photos, prints, old advertisements, etc. Bangor Best Inn —
