Good food, fair price, I keep coming back, I do wish they did more exotic foods, less Americanized Chinese. I love the addition of the sushi section.

I have been sick of Chinese food since the last time I had it in 2014 so I was a little at edge of this place. Walked in and I was seated right away, waiter did not make us wait on water, he was on top of us before we asked! Food was amazing! Best Chinese buffet I have tasted in a while! food and service past my expectations! Try this place out! You will not be disappointed

I’m surprised at how negative many of the reviews are for this place. I probably wouldn’t choose to come here because buffets and I have a nasty love-hate relationship. I also find restaurants that promote themselves as buffets attract the same type of clientele that you would otherwise find at a casino — just substitute a gambling addiction for a food addiction and that’s the type of sadness you encounter. But it’s one of my dad’s favorite places so I oblige. I’ve always found the staff to be incredibly friendly. Very chatty and eager to help out. The food choices are overwhelming. It’s your typical Chinese restaurant fare, plus 30 other options; I think there are at least 6 or 8 buffet islands, plus dim sum, plus sushi, plus soups, plus salads, plus dessert. I’ve always found the food to be fresh and tasty, but we also always go in the weekend when they are most busy — this ensures a more frequent turnover of buffet food trays. I don’t know if I would recommend one buffet item that’s better than the others. If you’ve been to one Chinese food buffet you’ve been to 100. Just try to come when the restaurant is the busiest, and don’t forget to take lots of frequent rests and pace yourself. It’s a marathon not a sprint.

This place used to be good several years ago and we used to go there quite frequently, but over the last few years or so, the food has been absolutely disgusting and the service has been equally as horrible. Today, we went there for the first time in about 2 years. We had stopped going for a couple of years because of how bad our experiences had been the last few times we had been there. We figured we’d give it a try today as it had been quite some time since we had been there and we thought we’d give it another chance and see if things had improved at all. Bad idea! The food was cold and did not taste right at all. The lo mein noodles and the crab rangoon were like rubber and the sushi was just downright disgusting. I actually had to stop eating because it was so bad. On top of the horrible food, the service was completely lacking. When we needed refills on our drinks, our waiter was nowhere to be found. We finally had to flag down another waiter to get us our drinks. We also had to wait forever for someone to bring us our check. We literally sat there waiting for our check for a good half an hour, but our waiter was still MIA and no one had brought us our check. My husband finally got up and went over to the cash register to get someone to bring us our check so that we could get out of there. The woman at the cash register had to go and find our waiter and get him to bring it to us. Needless to say, he did not get a tip. It’s really too bad. When this buffet first opened back around 2003 or 2004, it was much better and we would go all the time, but it has definitely gone severely downhill over the last few years. We absolutely will never go back there. I don’t normally write reviews like this, but I felt the need to warn others to stay away from this place at all costs. My stomach is still feeling a bit queasy from eating there today. If you want a decent Chinese/American buffet in Bangor, go to Oriental Jade. At least their food is always fresh and the wait staff is much better.

I’ve come to accept this as the best Chinese Buffet in town. The problem is consistency. Some days worst than others. You can tell when the her«Man» has a day off because the food is off. But even then, it’s still okay compared to any other place in town. And I keep trying and trying and… hopefully one day…

This is exactly what a Chinese buffet should be: Lots of selections, good price, plenty of seating, and clean.

This is a great choice if you want all you can eat Chinese Buffet. There is of course a very very large selection of entrees. I was surprised by the variety of foods. Most of the typical offerings for a chinese buffet but also included some neat offerings like fress Sushi and nice deserts. For the more daring you may enjoy something exotic like octopus. Yum!

I frequented Happy China quite often with friends over the course of my college career, and to sum it up, it was always a better idea on paper than in practice. Some of this comes down to the fact that I have poor self-control when it comes to limiting my portions at a buffet, especially when it comes to Americanized Chinese food – so many options. But that aside, the food never really did that much for me – it’s certainly edible, if not tasty, but nothing I’d rave about. I think there are certainly better options in the area. You can go right around the corner and treat yourself to a Jade Raid, which has a superior quality of food – and if you go during the summer, you can probably catch a Sox game on the big screen.

I have benn dining here since it opened and have been very pleased with the service and the selection of various foods. From fresh sushi to crab legs to the very large section of entrees… my mouth is watering just thinking of it! My wife asked where I wanted my 60th birthday dinner… silly girl… you have to ask?! Happy China, of course! Do NOT miss out on this place!

What’s great about this Chinese/American buffet is that if you don’t feel like sitting in a crowded/noisy restaurant, you can actually do take out from the buffet.
