Banning Smog and Auto Repair

The worst experience of my life. I can not believe how bad I was treated by both managers the African man and Arabian man the whole time ripping me off. I told them I do not otherwise them to take my car for a test drive and they did anyways my car was gone for about 20 minutes. Whenever I tried to ask a question he would yell and say just go back into the office and wait till we are finished ! They charged me 150 dollars and didn’t do anything ! I called my dad to come help me and they started screaming at me to get off their property. I’m a 22 yr old girl they were just completely trying to take advantage of me trying to sell me in needed things. I would not recommend this place to anyone !!!

Avi NAND is the owner of this Smog Test site and assistant Man Handled my daughter. Banning DMV rep recommended this place which is against DMV policy. Will pursue them as well.
Totally took advantage of my daughter. Charged her for a bunch of parts she didn’t need for her Honda.
Also told her she needs 4 new tires. Tread was 50% at least

Fucking terrible service. My girlfriend went to this place to get a smog, because our favorite place was out of service due to broken testing equipment. They tell her she needed a gas cap, and gave her the wrong one! Car fails due to emissions, and wants $ 75 dollars for a diagnostic. They can’t even properly «install» a gas cap, what makes them believe I want to give them more money? Fuck this place.

Recently went in and asked if I could get a smog check done, I was in and out so fast… great service. great price… I will definitely recommend this place…

I called in very late in the day needing a smog check last minute as my tags were due that day. And Avi the guy who runs the place said if I could be there in 15 min he would. I was definitely with in 15 min so when I got there he took my info in less than 2 min got it started. I was in and out in less than 20 min and for a reasonable $ 50 out the door. Great guy. Very friendly. I will definitely recommend and come again myself.

Stopped in for my smug check. My son and I are waiting inside the shop, he’s three so brought along Woody and Jesse. He loves the fish tank.
The owner, Avi, is super polite and friendly! He gave my son 25cents for the candy machine and a little cup to put the candy in.
You can tell a lot by listening to the way employers speak to their employees and he seems very kind. I’m glad I came here, and I’ll continue to come here for my smug check needs.

So driving back to Phoenix my car breaks down right on the other side of Morango Casino. The AAA tow guys takes me to these dudes and say he knows the owner Avi and that he would take care of me. I should have ran right there, but I was between a rock and a hard place.
Right off the gun Avi the owner was kind of a jack ass. He wouldn’t even pop the hood that day, he told me to come back tomorrow. And he didn’t want me waiting at his business I had to walk with my wife and son all the way down to Jack in the box and wait for our ride back to Anaheim.
Well the next day finally he calls me and says my timing belt broke but he doesn’t know if it bent the values or not and that it would be 1300 bucks plus the price of the valves to replace it. I said you cannot tell me if the valves were bent. He said not without paying 1300 bucks.
So to make a long story short I researched towing the car back to Phoenix or another place but just in the end decided to sell the car on Craigslist. I got 300 bucks.
So the question is. Were the valves really bent? Could the car have just been fixed with a new timing belt? Who knows. I will never know. But judging from other reviews on this place I would bet money that I was scammed.
Anyway tread with caution.

If there was an option for .25 of a star, that’s what I would rate this place.
First, they ask if you want a «pre-​test» to see if your car passes. I ask about it. The owner says $ 25.00 to see if it passes. If it does then we run the real test.
I ask so if it passes the «pre-​test it will pass the real test?
The owner says „yes“
I say, okay so how much is the real test?
Owner says $ 50.00
At this point I’m exhausted, I say do both.
15 minutes later the service tech comes in the office and says it passed, but it was close. The owner asks me „what do you want to do?“
I say, well you told me if it passed the pre-​test, it will pass the real test, right?
The owner and the tech agree so I said „do it“.
Guess what… half hour later the service tech comes back in the office and says „it failed and now something else showed up on the test“
I said how could this be?
The owner says…» For $ 75.00 we will diagnose it and tell you what is wrong”.
When my blood pressure went down I told both of them that I wouldn’t think of spending another cent in this place and thanks for teaching me a lesson in leaglized theft! I paid the guy and hope that I never run into either of these professional thieves on the street!,
I had just had a complete tune up, had a diagnostic check on my car on Saturday and nothing was wrong with my car.
My advice for anyone that appreciates a good scam should check these guys out… otherwise, stay as far away from this place as you can!

Great service! Quick and efficient!

Always expecting the worst when it comes to dealing with anything auto, I was pleasantly surprised to have the easiest experience getting my 5-​year old car smogged at Banning Smog and Auto Repair. No appointment, in at 8 am, out at 8:40, passed the tests. Total cost was $ 50. Easy. Will return when DMV requires it again.

Having been screwed around by Bud’s Automotive in Beaumont, California we decided to look elsewhere for a smog station that could provide Test Only results. Somehow we managed to find Avi Nand at the Banning Smog Test Center. Since we were in the process of transferring a vehicle we were also pleased to find that Avi can provide for a fee DMV services right at his shop. Within 30 minutes we had our car smogged and transferred between two parties.
Avi was a really nice guy and even kept the shop open after 5 to complete all the paperwork. Avi is a Star Certified Smog technician which is the highest rating from the DMV. Don’t fool around wasting your time at other smog shops in the area. Avi is the real deal and was a major time saver for us. Thanks Avi.
