Waaahoo! So much fun and laughter ! The cast was phenomenal, hilarious, and humble. A great addition to a bar harbor night !

This may have been the best bang for our buck in Bar Harbor. The comedy was family-friendly enough for teens, and the actors were awesome. The owners were very friendly. Call ahead and reserve your spot– seating is limited to around 40 – 50 and it fills up.

Sometimes improv is funny, sometimes it’s not. It just wasn’t a five-star show on our night, but it’s not a bad group. The tables are squished and the drinks are expensive, but it’s a tourist town so I wouldn’t expect anything less. It’s worth the trip, but don’t have too high of expectations because this is a hit-or-miss group. We don’t regret going!

I wandered in here on a whim on a Friday night and had a blast! I am a comedy and improv fan, although I do not frequent many shows. This was a great treat! Especially in a town where I certainly did not expect to find anything like this. The cast of three(plus pianist) did a great job holding court and making the crowd erupt in laughter. Service and drink selection was great and there are no drink minimums. What else can I say? This is truly a unique entertainment destination in Bar Harbor and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole show!

Fantastic! We are on our honeymoon from CA and we heard about the improv from the locals. This crew far surpassed any other improv club we’ve been to in Los Angeles. Best money spent so far in Bar Harbor. Have fun!!!

Took the entire family to the improv and loved every minute of it. This is a must see while in bar harbor. The show is extremely well done and had the entire audience laughing out loud. After spending the day biking and hiking the national park, the comedy show was a great relaxing evening.

I attended over July 4th weekend, actually ended up going twice! was very impressed with the show and the crew. The show entrance price and the drinks are priced very reasonable. You worry when you attend improve in a small city that the shows are quality, but I can truly say that that is not the case here. Definitely a good activity to add to any night at Bar harbor.

This was my first time going to an improv show, and it far exceeded my expectations! We went to the 10pm, or non-family friendly show, and were laughing the entire time. If you’re in the area, it is definitely worth the trip!

I have never been to an improv show and didn’t really know what to expect. Fortunately, all you Unilocalers led me in the right direction. This was certainly one of the most fun things we did in Bar Harbor. Amidst all the eating, drinking and tourist shops, ImprovAcadia is a hidden gem. We had had a wonderful cast made up of Jen, Joe, Mike, Stuart and Larrence on the keyboard. They are all very talented performers and friendly people. We sat right in front and had a great time. I cannot say enough good things — definitely check it out, participate and be prepared to laugh. I guarantee you will not regret it.

Really great fun any night of the week! If you have kids, bring them to the 8 pm show. If you are without kids then do the 10 pm show, it’s a little less crowded and a lot more ribald! You don’t have to order any food or drink but we got nachos and our table friends got a brownie sundae. Come ready to laugh and participate!

Don’t miss out on the comedic highlight of Bar Harbor, ImprovAcadia. I’ve been to comedy shows in just about every country throughout Asia and Europe while on tour, and this little show in Bar Harbor was a great value for the pocket change. No drink minimums, friendly staff, and a family business vibe make this the best place to have a laugh or two after the sun has set. Yes, they do ask for audience participation, but never will you feel embarrassed or uncomfortable. Instead, your participation will only customize the experience and the laughs. Being used to the nightlife of NYC, I was surprised to see anything good happening here in town after 9PM. They have the first show at 8, and a second 10PM show that is slightly more adult-themed but certainly acceptable by even the conservative insomniacs like myself. We ended up coming back each night we stayed in town. So, ignore the Unilocal trolls and just stop by. You won’t be disappointed.

My fiancé and I had an excellent time here. We went to the 10 o’clock show two nights in a row and had so much fun! They rely on suggestions from the audience to shape the direction of their skits. It was great to see comedy come to life from my own personal suggestions that I shouted out. They asked for an object that they could act out an instruction manual for and I shouted diaphragm. They took my suggestion and the hilarity ensued. Lets just say it was two nights I will always remember. I cant wait to come back again next year. At $ 17 a head and reasonable drink prices you just cant beat it!

I wouldn’t call myself an improv buff, but I’ve been to a decent variety of improv shows before, and this is the first time I’ve seen the same group of just four people entertain the audience for the entire show. I was impressed with just how much they did with audience suggestions — more than most improv groups, certainly, which is brave, although I think they would have been right to dismiss a few of the suggestions they got. At the beginning of the show and after the intermission, it seemed like it took them a couple minutes to warm up before it was funny, but they definitely had some quality scenes. Although I had a good time, $ 17 seems like a little bit more than you ought to pay for a show of this caliber. I have paid less for more in New York and Boston. Then again there’s no drink minimum, which is a plus, and it was nice that they didn’t start trying to settle tabs before the show ended. Speaking of drinks, as others have mentioned, the drink selection is good. My girlfriend and I discovered the delicious wonder of Downeast Cider here, which I would definitely order again if I ever see it on a menu.

Cozy, second floor venue on busy Bar Harbor street. Jennifer Shepard(co-owner) is the mother hen here. She leads a mostly talented troupe of improve artists who rotate in and out of town as their schedules permit. Larrance Fingerhut is the talented man at the keyboard. Decent drinks. Decent snacks. Early show is for all; late shows are for adults. Highly recommended.

Great that the 8 pm show is «family friendly». This was a great way to wrap up the end of the day. Jennifer Shepard — listed on the website as one of the owners — was especially great. This show also includes some«musical» scenes, accompanied by an improv piano player(the other owner I believe). Intimate and friendly. Highly recommend. Assume the cast rotates.

Laughed out Loud! My husband, inlaws and I enjoyed a performance here on a Sunday night. We loved it! It was better than could be expected and we talked about it our entire vacation in Bar Harbor. The actors were so talented and the concept of it was so unique and it was def. a fun for all ages and senses of humor! Some of the skits were hysterical! The custoemr service was also top notch. I emailed for a reservation like the web site suggested and within minutes the owner got back to me and confimed my reservation. When we got there … there was my name and # of people in my party. I really appreciate that type of customer service! i loved how they actors make you a part of the show! it was great. I can’t say enough. i highly suggest for anyone who is in the area vacationing in bar harbor to enjoy a night out here. The price is right and they have really yummy drinks and snacks. We will be back and bring more people next time!

During an obscenely rainy Memorial Day weekend in Bar Harbor, my boyfriend and I decided to finally do something other than drive around in the car. Enter Improv Acadia. What we thought was going to be an incredibly cheesy and perhaps somewhat lame evening, was actually amazing and hilarious! The comedians did such a great job making seemingly innocuous topics into impressively funny skits. It was definitely the highlight of our otherwise very rainy weekend.

After much convincing from my sister, my boyfriend, her boyfriend, she and I attended a Sunday 8PM show while we were on vacation in Bar Harbor. Tickets were $ 15/each. It was very funny, entertaining and a blast. The actors are great. My sister’s boyfriend ended up being a part of the last skit and it was hilarious. Snack options were just okay(we munched on some nachos and dip) but it was enough to satiate our need for munchies before the show. Overall, a great time! Would definitely recommend.

Must do when in Acadia. The talent is top notch and for $ 15 you get a few hours of laughter and access to some great local brews & yummy snacks! This isn’t a stand-up comedy place, it’s improv, so expect some audience participation. Definitely a hidden gem for Acadia Nightlife.
