One of the best and one of the best known courses in Maine. 8th oldest course in the country. Very scenic, challenging and fun. Previous poster commented on hidden fairways and huge sand traps. There are really only one of each. The drive on #7 for the men is blind. Just err a little to the right. Creek on the left. And the only huge sand trap is protecting the 17th green. It was made famous by President Taft who took 27 strokes to finish the hole after visiting the trap. Tremendous history at Kebo. Unfortunately the course doesn’t have a lot to show off as they have had two fires destroy clubhouses over the years. Greens are very undulating and very fast. Stay below the hole or gravity will take you there on your next stroke. The only thing better than the golf at Kebo is the food. The food is pub style. Sandwiches, soups, salads, burgers, etc. Lunch or dinner. Generally a quiet atmosphere depending on what is going on with any golf events. Great for kids, families, seniors or anyone. Very casual. Can sit outside on the deck or inside at any number of tables. Great view of the first 4 holes of the course in addition to the 18th. Beer, wine, cocktails. Even if you don’t play golf and are just looking for a quiet meal just outside of downtown Bar Harbor with plenty of parking you can’t beat Kebo.

This course is a real challenge, especially for women with the average for women at 128. The pro shop listed the course as a #9, we found out why on the first three greens. The greens are touchy, very very fast. Most shots that landed on the green rolled off. The general course conditions were good, its maintained in great condition. I found some holes had a sense of humor in how they were built – hidden fairways where you can’t see where your ball will land, huge sand traps, a creek featured on many holes. Many people were walking the course, we used a cart. There is a lot of uphill on this course. Staff at the golf course was very helpful and friendly. The refreshment cart came around 3 or 4 times during our outing which was good since their were no other snacks until around 11 when the restaurant opened. The food at the restaurant was very good, I had the fried halibut and chips with a side salad, my husband had the club sandwich and fries. Bathrooms at the clubhouse are really nice, on the golf course they are outhouses. Cost was pretty high to play but we had a very enjoyable round. Scenery is excellent with evidence of wildlife around.

Beautiful, well kept with challenging greens. Definitely worth playing two times a week!

It’s the only game in town. The course is well maintained but really isn’t anything spectacular to me. Greens rolled true and fairway was plush. Seems overpriced to me for the course.
