We stopped by for dinner on a busy holiday weekend. By 8:20pm the place had more tables. So if you can wait to eat, come late. The drinks were priced high we thought, but it is a tourist attraction. The lobster bisque and salmon dish was amazing. The fish and chips was average. We would definitely come again. The service was good.

Overall great experience. Quality food and good service. Seems to be a pretty consistent place. Had the prime rib and it was perfect

We stayed at the West Street Hotel and Paddy’s was downstairs, so we ended up here twice in a week… very convenient. The service was good, the heaters outside made it possible to eat on the patio on the waterfront, and the food was good! I had the corned beef dinner(hey, it’s an Irish pub!)…really tasty with well prepared meat and a variety of veggies cooked to perfection. The mustard sauce topped it off perfectly. Hubby had a ribeye steak special and also really enjoyed it. Would definitely return. The only downside can be the foot traffic if you are right on the street… the casual passerby could grab your bread basket, it’s that close, so ask for a table near the windows if that bothers you.

Only had a few minutes in this beautiful large pub. A Guinness and some chatting with the bartender. Very nice. Filled me in on local action. Season end and basic news of the town. Hospitality was excellent

Went here for early breakfast of oatmeal. What i got was water with some oats floating in it. Asked the server if she didn’t think it looked very watery and she agreed but said that the kitchen said that was the way it is supposed to look. Said i did not want it. Came back with same dish but this time with it looking more normal. Gave 2 stars rather than 1 because day before bkfst was okay.

This place does not offer happy hour. Fine. Hosts are rude. They also had 3 hosts, none of them helpful. We decided we’d come here for dinner, 5 of us so we asked the host if we could sit on the patio(it was around 5:30 and only 2 tables of the 15 had people). We were told the tables there could only seat 4 people and there was one in the blinding sun that would fit us. We turned around and left since it was clear they didn’t want risk losing an extra 4 person table. If 3 hosts are not smart enough to think of combining just 2 of the 15 empty tables to sit 5, something is wrong.

Great food, great waitress(Carly) and great vibe. We sat outside and even though it was August, it was a chilly night, but they had the heaters on which made it delightful! We had the fish and chips and the pork chop. Both were fantastic.

Great place, right on the water front. Both my wife and I had the pork sandwich, it was outstanding. Cooked over a rotisserie, very tender and flavorful. Highly recommend this place!

Went here twice. Excellent food. Our service was just as good. On July 4th got a great patio table while we ate to watch the fireworks over Bar Harbor. In fairness, we got excellent service but there were other servers who were summer workers who were inattentive to their customers during the fireworks. Luckily that didn’t happen to us. But everything we had was great.

Cool atmosphere with outdoor seating. Good burgers and carved chicken sandwiches. Caesar salad was so-so. Charge for refills of club soda which was unnecessary. Nice but slow service.

I wasnt sure we had done the right thing when it became apparent the hostess was far more focused on charming her coworkers than on greeting us. Finally, one of the servers took her by the shoulders and physically turned her around so she could see she had customers to seat. Awkward. Once we were seated, things improved. I had the onion and ale soup. It was delicious! The ale gave it a much more complex flavor. It’s a winner! My husband had the burger with a yummy pretzel(i think) bun. He raved about it. It featured assorted leaf lettuces and what appeared to be a slice of heirloom tomato. We’re glad we ducked in for a quick lunch.

Don’t be fooled by the fact that Paddys is a hotel bar. In fact they did a great job in making this feel like a true neighborhood Irish Pub. The staff was pleasant and friendly. The beer selection was good. Try the Atlantic Real Ale. My wife had the lobster roll and I had the Ruben. Both were excellent and we actually returned two days later. I almost forgot the live singalong music really added to the atmosphere. Can’t wait to return.

Corned beef & cabbage dinner great. Huge portion. Horseradish sauce nice change from standard. Hubby had lobster roll and delicious Fries amazing! Dont know what they do to make them so special cause look like standard hand cut fries but flavor was like no other. Would go back just for the fries. Celtic music was a bonus

Tried this Irish Pub as a seafood alternative for dinner. Menu had excellent choices, reasonably priced. Passed on the bar beverages because variety limited and cost sky high — no way I was going to pay $ 7 for a Bud Lite. Atmosphere upscale even though crowd was casual. Good place for group of friends or a romantic date. I liked the open air dining for our summer dinner. Entrees included a Pub Burger and a Pub Dip. Lobster Bisque to start. Food was fantastic, portion size worth it. Our waiter seemed a little frazzled but the rest of staff were on top of things. We’ll be back. Consider the Thirsty Whale for a more casual, less expensive«pub» experience.

Nice atmosphere and great music during evening dinner. Bisque was good and salad was nice size. I had a corned beef sandwich was good but a bit tough slaw was good. My wife ordered the Irish nachos and these came out and were huge. Great combination of potato chips ham turkey cheese jalapeños and avocado. Definitely worth a visit

My wife and I selected Paddy’s for dinner largely because you can sit outside and enjoy the ocean view. We ordered a lobster and crab dip appetizer to split. My wife ordered a salad with steak and avocado, and I ordered the house burger(which also comes with avocado). The appetizer was delicious and prompt. Then we waited around 40 more minutes for our meals, which were some of the simpler meals on their menu. When they finally came out my avocado was missing and my wife’s was served an avocado that was not yet ripe. Our server, Zach, was helpful and very friendly. When it got too cold on the sidewalk seating he moved us inside with no fuss. He also got us properly ripened avocados when we pointed out the mistake(although we were virtually done with our meals by the time they were plated and ready). The kitchen, however, was unable to fulfill a simple order in a timely and accurate way. It also did not seem like our server/the management was empowered to offer any comp or discount to make up for the kitchen’s errors. We likely won’t be back to Paddy’s.

Paddy’s Grille– About as Irish as the Queen of England’s earlobes. This was a birthday dinner following a 3 ½ hour Whale Watch. While the name of the restaurant is Paddy’s Grille, if you are expecting Irish food then you better keep looking. That being said, the interior is very upscale, and the view is flawless. The food however was another matter. Certainly it appeared appetizing, and a few of my party very much enjoyed their selections. I had been in the mood for a good steak, however, as there was none on the menu, I settled for a hamburger. This is where the evening began to go askew. The hamburger came on a sort of odd type of roll, and although I was very specific in how I wished it prepared(no lettuce, no tomatoes, no «garlic mayonnaise», no anything), nevertheless, it came as described in the menu, so the server either did not understand my plainly worded request or did not care. The burger was undercooked, and tasted very little like an actual hamburger, at least in my experience of place like 5-Guys, Elevation, In-and-Out, or Fat Burger. I requested some mustard and relish in an attempt to overpower the garlic mayonnaise flavoring, and when I finally had some, it proved futile. Although the French fries were pretty good, the bulk of the mail, the hamburger, was largely inedible. Nevertheless, having been on the ocean for the better part of four hours, we were hungry and did our best to smile and eat. While it is not that unusual for us to receive a bill for dinner in excess of $ 250(Le Saint-Amour, Quebec City), it is pricey when the food is this poorly prepared. What you are paying for is simply the convenience, the location, and the view. You’re certainly not paying for the food. The location is great, the view fabulous. It is very convenient and well decorated both inside and out. But I believe that this restaurant caters to the tourists who will probably come once and that is fine, however, the curb appeal of the restaurant, the dining tables and fancy lighting, belay the true quality of the food. There were no Irish dishes on the menu.

We came here for brunch because it was convenient to our hotel. There restaurant is huge, featuring a full bar area and private room, but we sat outside near the water. We ordered the stuffed waffle and the bacon egg and cheese panini. Both were pretty good, but nothing to write home about. The scenery is the main reason to come here.

Beautiful restaurant with amazing views of the bay, exemplary interior design, especially the chairs and the lighting fixtures and the wall with quotes from famous american authors, the bathrooms are impeccable in design, convenience and cleanliness and despite being in the touristy district, the food is great and good quality, perhaps a little more expensive than places off the beaten path but its definitely a beautiful place. We really enjoyed our lunch, they have a great selection of draft beers and a nice Angry orchard apple cider, the corned beef was out of this world soft, the lobster salad was great, a huge serving of bacon if you like it, if not ask them not to add it, it’s really a lot of pork LOL. The steak and fries were great, the steak a bit overcooked but the fries legendary. Also dog friendly with outside seating and great service. we actually had a bee land in the beer and they replaced it no problem, they actually offered not to charge for the beer, which is really nice. Our waiter was super friendly.
