It’s a nice place to start your Maine adventure. Lobster roll came with deliciously made sweet potato fries(option of that or regular fat fries) and coleslaw on the side. I was a bit shocked to find out the price though – it was in the high $ 40s for 2 people, prior to tip. In my mind, a lobster roll should’ve been like, less than $ 10(it’s a freaking sub!!!) and I couldn’t believe my eyes. The eating area is certainly nice though, there was outdoor seating, an area to see lobsters being taken out of the tanks, and an area where the cooks were cooking them. It was all laid out in a cute way. You could also take pictures by sticking your face out of a lobster cardboard statue, and it’s in the middle of Bar Harbor where you can do some strolling around.

Please Note: I did not eat anything here so take the review with a grain of salt. A group of us came to Stewman’s a couple times during our trip to the Bar Harbor/Acadia trip but only for a couple rounds of drinks. As it was a beautiful summer afternoon there’s really no better place in Bar Harbor to enjoy a couple drinks, even if those drinks are midtown Manhattan prices(think $ 8 for a beer, $ 15ish cocktails). Stewman’s is right on the water and is absolutely huge. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and their outdoor deck spans two levels and even a skinny dock with a few picnic tables. We took the last table on the dock and the experience was amazing. Being inches from the water right on the bay seeing fishing boats right there and the islands in the distance and even spotting a harbor seal was well worth the price of the drink. It was a nice touch for them to add a handful of fresh blueberries to my blueberry beer but after the second drink the novelty of it wore off and I just asked them to leave the produce out of the beer. I tasted a couple of the cocktails and those along with the service at the bar were spot on. Again I can’t speak for the food and the prices really don’t warrant a stay for longer than a drink or two but if you’re in the Bar Harbor area during nice weather I would certainly encourage you to stop by and take in the view and enjoy a few moments here as I did.

We stopped in on our visit to Bar Harbor. We had a burger, lobster roll & Blueberry pie. Service was great, food came quickly, was very tasty, and the prices were reasonable. A lot of people were having the boiled lobster special — that looked good as well. Very convenient location — we would definitely recommend this restaurant. Make sure you get the pie. :)

Was planning on going to Thurston’s Lobster Pound on the other side of Mount Desert Island but went here instead since it was also a lobster pound and was much closer to where I was going to be that day. Walking in right away you’ll see that the place is very touristy looking and feeling. They have the place heavily decorated with ocean themed items(think boat life savers and plastic sea creatures) and a giant animated picture of lobsters in a makeshift hot tub/pot of boiling water greets you when you walk in. When you walk in right away you’ll see their lobster tank filled to the brim with live lobsters which one of the workers assured me were all freshly caught locally off the waters of Mount Desert Island.
