I unknowingly planned a trip to Acadia National Park after it was officially closed for the season(mid-November). This meant that most everything in Bar Harbor was also closed for the season, including food venues. I went into Geddy’s thinking«Oh well…», but was pleasantly surprised by the quality and value of the food. I enjoyed me a good plate of fish and chips, along was an awesome clam chowder, and some great draught beer. It all cut through the November chill very effectively. Service was great too. By the way, my visit to the Park was fabulous. Although restrooms and concessions were closed, you are allowed to drive through, hike, bike, kayak, etc. It was like having a national park to one’s self. No traffic congestion, nobody else on the trails, etc.

Went the for dinner in Bar Harbor. It overlooked the harbor, which was very beautiful as the sun was setting. The food was pretty good. The fisherman’s platter and parmesan truffle fries were excellent. Me and my wife split them. It was a lot of food. The Clam chowder was excellent. It was a lot thicker and more flavorful than the traditional ones that we have tried. It had a TGIFridays vibe to it. Defiantly one to check out.

Close to the cruise port. They had a lobster special, but the lobster was rather rubbery and not very tasty. My husband got and chips but the fish wasn’t crisp at all and he was unable to eat it. We won’t be going back. Service was good, which is why it gets any stars.

Excellent food at decent prices for the area. The fish and chips was really good and it was great that they had gluten free pizza.

Blisteringly fast and friendly service and wonderful fried fish. I’m celiac and all of their deep fried fare is said to be gluten free. The standard fish and chips were amazing and crispy. The fish, which is said to be a white fish in the menu, but the waitress said was cod, was cooked to perfection. I am born and raised in Alaska and fish and chips there consists of halibut mostly so I am a bit spoiled My GF ordered the fried shrimp and I didn’t enjoy them as much. the batter was differently spiced and the amount for the price didn’t seem as reasonably priced. Despite my issues with the fried shrimp I am extremely pleased with this business and will enjoy lunch again there tomorrow. 5 stars for the service, reasonable prices, and celiac friendly menu.

Geddy’s wasn’t what was recommended to us, but we wanted to go to Bar Harbor for the shops and ambience, so we ended up at Geddy’s…mostly because we parked by it and they had a lobster special. I felt like the priced were a bit high. The food was good and definitely fresh from the sea. Our server was awesome, and even showed us some lobsters up close. Nothing super wonderful here, but fresh seafood in a touristy town… meh.

Average food, average(in some cases above average) prices, average service, but under average experience. We were taken to a table almost immediately. The child in me was happy to see the place mats are coloring pages and there are crayons on the table. The waiter came in a decent amount of time. Not too fast, but didn’t take so long that I feel the need to complain. Husband ordered the Bar Harbor Real Ale and is still raving about it… «It was smooth…» I ordered my usual… A ‘New York Apple’(but to these parts known as a Vodka, cranberry juice, and apple pucker). Mine was just okay. Nothing to write home about. For dinner… I ordered the Garlicky Shrimp Scampi($ 16). My husband ordered the Steak & Lobster(for $ 33, which compared to other local eateries was cheap… Or so we thought). Food came out quick enough. The reason I said $ 33 was cheap was because other local joints were saying market price was $ 44. HOWEVER, $ 44 was for lobster tail and steak. Our $ 33 went toward a few scraps of ‘lazy man’s lobster’ on top of steak. Total before tip was $ 70.18. Way too much and you’ll see why if you continue reading. Food came out reasonably quickly. Again, not too fast, but not horribly slow. My ‘buttery parmesan’ sauce was neither buttery nor parmesan. Simply oily. That’s it. Not great. Noodles were burnt(noticeably brown in color in many cases). They aren’t busy, so I don’t see a worthy excuse. Husband’s plate was very underwhelming. We though for $ 33 there would be a fairly large plate of foot. Not the case. Lobster was rubbery, but as he said, «maybe that’s just how the lobster is.» I don’t think that’s the case, but you be the judge. His steak, mashed potatoes and vegetables were all good, but not worth the $ 33 we paid. The worst part of my experience… While I was eating when my food first came, the table next to us was being cleared and cleaned. I was a bus girl at a restaurant so I know what it’s like. You should never spray at an angle where those who are still eating may get sprayed. Well, not the case for Geddy’s on this particular evening. My arm was getting quite wet from the spray, but I kept it up to attempt to protect my food. Didn’t work. May seem petty, but imagine trying to eat while being sprayed with cleaner… Beyond frustrated with the price we paid for the not fantastic experience. Review also posted to Google.

Decent food, bad service and super expensive Food was decent. Service was poor(went there when there wasn’t much of a crowd so it wasn’t that there were lots of people) and worst part of all was a 18% defacto gratuity. While I am a big believer of recognizing and appreciating good service, 18% for 2 people for such shoddy service was just a rip off Don’t recommend this place. There are better options!

We had a lot of Clam Chowder while we were in Bar Harbor, and believe it or not, Geddy’s was the best! We stopped in for some«Chowdah» and some nachos which they serve up in a gigantic hubcap stuffed to the brim! They don’t skimp on toppings so every chip is covered in deliciousness and it was a perfect snack to hold us over for a late lunch! The store is also one of my favorites in town! We got some cute knick knacks like a little wooden whale to commemorate our time in Bar Harbor and our whale watching adventure that looks cute on our shelf. But, even more importantly, some triple XL shirts! This was the only place in all of Bar Harbor that carried plus sizes and I kept an eye out quite a bit when we were shopping to see if anyone else had some. I was dying to pick up some shirts for my dad to bring back home and was so happy when I saw a pretty broad assortment that went all the way up to 4XL in their store! It’s really a bummer when stores don’t carry extended sizes for the loved ones in our life that wear those sizes, so thank-you, Geddy’s! Your shirts made my dad’s day and made him feel included in our vacation even though he hasn’t been to Bar Harbor quite yet! Check this lil place out, it’s one of the few restaurants that is open year round and their food quality is actually surprisingly great despite being portrayed as pub food.

My advice is to avoid this tourist trap of you can. Ordered the taco salad and received olives, jalapeños, and salsa that tasted straight from the can. The chicken also tastes off. The highlight of the meal should not be the Sriracha sauce.

Not very good. Service was good, but they seemed confused as to who had what tables. «Wood fired» Pizza was not at all wood fired tasting. A frozen pizza for $ 3 would have been better. Guac and chips – guac was good, chips were sparse. Fried Scallops were not good. Chicken caprese sandwich had Wayyyy too much pesto aioli. And surprisingly NOT tasty. Beers were good, but not cold enough.

Good times and great food. Hubby and I sat at the bar right away. I ordered the lobster mini and he got the hot lobster roll. The food was tasty and portion sizes were perfect. Our bartender took good care of us. While the lobster is a little spendy and doesn’t compare to our favorite(Dead Eye Dick’s), we were very satisfied

Seafood Alfredo rocks, girlfriend wasn’t super happy with seafood pizza but I had a slice and thought it was good. Kids meals served on friended, way cool. Good food, good atmosphere, near perfect. Next time you’re in ba-ha-bah…stop in, worth a visit.

Out of the multiple places I tried during my weekend trip in Maine, Geddy’s was the biggest disappointment. This isn’t the classiest place, people probably come here for bar food and drinks. My boyfriend and I was really hoping to get the fried clams that we were craving all day, but they ran out of them(it was only about 1PM). It was a Saturday with a rather busy crowd, but still surprising to me. I got the spinach seafood Alfredo, he got the lobster roll with butter. Both of reactions to our food: bland and tasteless. His lobster roll had more lettuce than lobster, and from what he said, he would’ve rather had it tossed in mayonnaise as it normally is. For me, that was the saddest time I ever had pasta. The one good thing about it was the spinach fettuccine, it was cooked al dente and was a new alternative I haven’t experienced. Everything else was unsatisfactory. The pasta sauce lacked any seasoning, it tasted like plain cream and butter, the scallops no seasoning as well, and I replaced the shrimp for salmon for allergy reasons, but it didn’t add anything positive to the dish. We both didn’t finish our plates and were still hungry. What made it worse was the prices. My meal was $ 22, and I’ve had better portions with cheaper prices elsewhere for lunch. His lobster roll was about the same maybe more due to market price, but literally everywhere else had cheaper lobster rolls for $ 14-$ 18. The quantity in lobster may vary, but the quality is probably better in other local restaurants. This place gets a 1.5, only because of the nice waitress.

Out of all of the restaurants and cafes in Bar Harbor, this was our biggest disappointment. My mother ordered a «white fish» fish and chips dinner, and she got a huge piece of fried fish that was gray inside. She took 2 bites before pushing it away and the server didn’t even ask her about it. My husband wanted the ‘local Maine’ fried clams but they ran out, and didn’t tell us until he went to order. He ended up with fried scallops and he said they were ok. I ordered the bacon turkey burger, which I saw sitting by the window for about 10 minutes before the rest of the food was ready. The presentation was worse than terrible, I think McDonald’s would’ve done better. It didn’t even look like a burger. I’m guessing that it was a frozen patty. Again, the server didn’t question why I didn’t eat it. I wouldn’t recommend this place even if you were desperate for food. Sorry.

We had the fish and chips which were very good. Their coffee is very dark and rich and they keep the cup filled. The atmosphere is very much like Margaritaville in Key West! Good service and close to everything in downtown Bar Harbor.

Like most people who travel through Bar Harbor, we were looking for some good food after hiking and exploring Acadia National Park. A few friends suggested Getty’s and it was a perfect spot for lunch. It’s a very funky local place right by the water in town decorated with various state license plates, stickers, and lights. Regardless of age, everyone gets a paper place mat and crayons to color with. They also encourage a trip to their gift shop downstairs by offering a free toy from the treasure chest(cause who doesn’t want a plastic bug or cheap friendship bracelet!) I also couldn’t resist purchasing an inflatable unicorn horn for my kitten once I saw it down there so you can only imagine what other gems might catch your eye. The food was also really freaking great. I had the fish and chips and have honestly never had such a huge flaky piece of fried fish in my life. I ate every last bit of that dish. A few other people in our party got the lobster roll and they had nothing but good things to say about it. Not too much mayonnaise with plenty of meaty filling. I would definitely recommend Geddy’s when visiting Bar Harbor/Acadia. Upbeat atmosphere and a full bar so what’s not to love!

Underwhelming. Came here on Memorial Day weekend. It was busy, but not overwhelmingly so. We did not wait at all for a table. Food tasted good, however portions were small. The waiter got my order incorrect(I ordered regular fries instead of sweet potato fries). The burger I got was very tasty, but like I said portion was on the small side. The low rating is due mostly to the staff. Bad attitudes, complaining. I get it. Tourists can be annoying. All I wanted was to come and eat a meal in peace and I was treated like I was in the line at the cafeteria in prison. The waiter rolled his eyes when I wanted to sub cheddar cheese for Swiss cheese on my burger. Really? Who cares? Would not recommend.

Hello… Im a tourist that came off a boat, US1 or off Cadillac Mountain… where should I eat? Main Street is chock full of places to empty your wallet and raise the payment due on your credit card with shopping and eating. For us, we popped into Geddy’s just before the early bird special and rouge showers began to pass. As others have mentioned, the atmosphere is full of things to talk about and reference while you wait for your food, which for us was not terribly long. The lobster special was well priced, prepared and tasted good. The blueberry pie and blueberry beer. even better! Plentiful drink specials and friendly staff made this a good choice for an early dinner before heading back to Bangor. I can see where this place can become terribly croweded and in the process bring down the ratings from both tourists and locals alike, but it is a good choice when your enjoying a day of leisure in Bar Harbor. I will be back!
