We finally made it into this wonderful gem, and met the owner, Avatar, while we were at it. She’s a native Vietnamese woman who insists on only serving authentic Vietnamese iced coffee. Excellent! If you’ve been to Saigon and had the real thing, then you know this is legit. But Avatar recognizes that not everyone has the palate for the authentic, so she’s more then happy to tweak it to your taste buds. Completely worth it experience while you’re up in Bar Harbor and your a coffee drinker.

I came to this restaurant because I am spending 2 weeks on island and have tried most of the places already. Today was a cold rainy day so what else better to have than a good bowl of PHO. I should of listened to the Unilocal reviews and avoided this so called restaurant. Worst PHO I have ever had. Service is very slow. Food is not good and expensive. The PHO noodles are not normal PHO noodles(these noodles are a little wider, flatter and break apart very easily) not your typical PHO noodle. They gave me a regular spoon you would use in your kitchen to use to help eat and drink the broth. I ordered the BEEFPHO which had some kind of minute steak(which was not good) and some other sort of mystery meat which I had to remove from my soup before eating it because it did not look like it was edible. The broth tasted like WATER! Thank goodness for Siracha and Hoisin sauce to give it a little more flavor but even then it was less than mediocre. I also got the shrimp spring rolls… if i would of known how bad the PHO was I would of not ordered these but I ordered them from the beginning… less than mediocre. The peanut sauce was watery and there were 3 tiny shrimp in the whole roll. Overall the food and service was terrible. Avoid this place. If I could rate it a 0 I would.

Friendly service but the food is terrible. Both the phở and Bön mi sandwich we ordered were poorly made and had no flavor.

Ordered the chicken Bahn mi, veggie rolls and an espresso. Espresso tasted like Nescafe. Peanut sauce was watery and bland. On sandwich, bread was stale, the veggies inside were not pickled and the chicken was low quality. This was by far the worst Vietnamese food I have ever had.

This is a corner coffee shop that also serves a limited food menu. My rating is based on this and not a full-menu Vietnamese restaurant. I’m not sure what it takes to be considered authentic Vietnamese food, but it is not stereotypical. It is also pricey, as is just about every other restaurant in Bar Harbor. The portions are satisfying, but don’t expect to be having a second meal out of it. We ordered the chicken phở, the chicken curry sandwich, the pork bun and an avocado shake. All of the food was very tasty and clean-flavored as opposed to overpowering. The broth on the phở was very well blended(although I did add some sriracha to it), not too oily like some phở’s that I’ve had. The chicken in the phở was very tender and juicy, the cilantro fresh, and there were bean sprouts in the phở contrary to an earlier rating; I’m not sure if they have been improving their dishes over time. The chicken dish used a very mild curry over a bed of fresh salad vegetables. The person in our party who ordered it had it on what looked like a French baguette; they enjoyed it but I think going with the spring roll option that they offered for the wrapping would have been even better. The pork bun was a little bigger than a large orange. It had a freshly made, slightly sweet taste and a very good texture which complemented the minced meat filling(with a hard boiled egg center) very well. I was really surprised at the avocado shake; not the overly sweet drink I was expecting. I’ll definitely be ordering one again. The owner was extremely friendly and proud of her food being fresh. The only downside(other than the price and the limited menu selection that I’ve already addressed) was that the dishes came out as they were ready rather than all at once. I can live with that for freshly prepared food. This place is definitely going on my list of top rated lunch spots in Bar Harbor.

The owner is super friendly and has a lot of helpful information about bar harbor. The iced coffee was delicious and the phở was amazing. I noticed that every customer was very satisfied with their food!

This place is a joke. They are not making Vietnamese phở. The noodle is not right, the soup is not right, they dont even give u bean sprout, and its freaking overpriced

I’ve had phở all over the country and what I had at this place was not authentic. I ordered the beef phở which had the meat balls and slices of ham?(like from the deli). I was expecting the broth to be from a big pot prepared for hours, which is the norm. Nope. My meal was prepared in a paper bowl and cooked in the microwave. It was bland and tasted like it was made ‘cup o noodles’ style. I understand this is Bar Harbor, a vacation spot, and it has the cater to the Main stream folks. I am Asian and did not expect this. I gave it 1 star for the lobster spring rolls which by the way had the ingredients microwaved which I thought was odd since spring rolls is to be made fresh, aside from the pre cooked meat.

Phở was very well made. Lots of meat and tasty flavor. The lobster roll was excellent. Price seems reasonable for a touristy area.
