Funky atmosphere. Most breakfast joints in Baraboo serve traditional breakfast items(and most serve them well). Broadway definitely adds a more modern flair to traditional favorites, which is a nice change of pace for Baraboo. Fun to sit outside when weather is nice.

I came in for breakfast and I was glad I did. I got the best fresh omelet I’ve ever had! The décor is cute! And the the kitchen set up was pretty neat. I got to watch them make my omelet! It was breakfast and a show! I also got the biggest cinnamon roll I’d ever seen! Just talking about it is making me hungry!

Southwest eggs Benedict scramble… Yumm. Wow. Delicious and creative. Eggs and pork carnitas over a house potatoe pancake with an amazing smoky hollandaise… Looking for a different breakfast menu? Go to Broadway diner! They have at least 10 delicious breakfasts menu items listed I have never seen before. I’m sure they will be delicious. We sat at the counter and watched one delicious plate after the other being created. Service was very friendly and prompt and their prices are so reasonable! We’ll be back every time we are in the area! Thanks Broadway diner! You put an end to boring breakfast!

Good food, good music, good atmosphere! Located right on the main drag of downtown Baraboo. The service was excellent and the view as you eat and chat is nice too either way you’re looking.

While in the dells I found this cool old school diner draped in neon. It’s like a trip back to the 50S with stainless steel and glass. This place has serious old school charm and I really enjoyed stoping for breakfast, see my pictures. There is booths, tables and an old school lunch counter. The woman who served me was great and did a good job and she let me roam and take all the pictures I wanted to show the world. The menu is small so you are not overwhelmed with tons of choice. I ordered the two eggs, sausage and home made toast. The home made toast was very thick with lots of butter and good. The eggs were sunny side perfect. The sausage was the bigger kind and tasted like no other that I have had and was good. Overall this was a great spot to stop for a meal and was about $ 7 for breakfast so don’t do the chain crap if your near by. This was a great experience to relax with a meal and have a memory.

Broadway Diner is a beautifully restored 1950s diner with friendly and enthusiastic staff. We stopped here for brunch on our way to the International Crane Foundation. Had a great time. Both of us had hash. My husband had the harvest hash and I the corned beef. Both gorgeous and made in house. Very large portions so come hungry. I couldn’t finish mine. Service was good and we had a booth right across from some of the cooking which was amusing to watch. Perfect place to stop on your way through town.

Came here for breakfast with high hopes for a great breakfast. Sadly, this little diner disappointed. I had the Downtown Breakfast with over medium eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and white toast. The eggs were fine, hard to mess that up, the hashbrowns had noooooo salt or flavor, the bacon was good, but the toast, oh the toast. It was so hard a stale it tasted like it had been sitting out in the wind for the last week! Highly let down. And a note to the server, when a mom asks you for extra napkins for a table with multiple children, please bring more than 2 extra! Overall, ok place that’s very clean and has great intentions. Prob won’t be back though.

This place was so cute from the décor but that is all they have going for it. The staff was surly and certainly not fitting with a diner. The food was so plain! I had the classic burger that had absolutely no taste. Kids had French toast and it too was really bland. So not worth it… Definitely skip it.

Only reason I’m giving this a 5 is because Unilocal currently has it as a 3 and I think it deserves better(like 4 stars). This is a solid american Diner experience. If you’re looking for a no frills American breakfast Broadway Diner is a good choice.(Pancakes are great!)

My friend and I really wanted to like this place. It’s pretty cute, especially from the outside, and our waitress was friendly. The menu looked promising, with a fair number of veggie options and some tasty-sounding sandwiches. I opted for the black and bleu burger, and my friend went for the portabella sandwich. I specified medium-rare on my burger, and was sorely disappointed with a dried-out burger that was way over done. The blue cheese left something to be desired as well: not terribly flavorful. My friend’s shroom sandwich was really drippy, and totally soaked her bun. The next morning she complained of some indigestion. The fries were really good, and the service was also good, but the main components of our meal were disappointing. Meh.

To be fair, I truly applaud the time, effort, money and passion I’m sure it took to bring this beautiful piece of restored Americana to its current resting place in Baraboo. It’s worth a visit if you are into diners. I’m not one to ordinarily order chicken fried steak, but when in a diner with homemade fare, I generally find it worth the splurge. This dish was described as being hand breaded, but if the breading was done in-house, I’m not sure why the goal would be to so closely match what one would find breaded in an institutional food supply factory. It didn’t taste bad, but it didn’t live up to my expectations. The gravy, interspersed with bacon bits, was pretty good and the mashed potatoes were complete with lumps. The accompanying mixed vegetables did not have the life cooked out of them, which so many places tend to do, but they tasted completely unseasoned. Our server was good, and the other waitress was also hustling around both inside and out on the patio. We also tried the peanut butter pie as their desserts are said to be homemade, and it also seemed somewhat mass produced. In retrospect I wish I had tried their corned beef hash instead, as it was featured on the menu, and I would love to come back and do so.

Baraboo, Bara who? No, really, only a short drive away and lots to see and do. We enjoyed Mirror Lake Park area, caught the Baraboo Circus Parade in honor of the original Ringling Brother’s Circus. We need to catch the museum next time. We ate at Broadway Diner and I would give it 3 stars. It was crowded but managed to seat all 10 of us in less than 15 minutes at lunch time. The food took awhile to arrive and everyone was not served at the same time… BUT the food was delicious. We tried the Black and Bleu burger, kids cheeseburger plate– both moist and cooked to order. The adult burger was topped with an onion ring and thick cut bacon. Kids’ chicken tender plate was good, real chicken and the kids ate all of it! Salad, had no iceberg, ordered the nuts and berries(!!!) and had real vegetables, fresh berries and a light vinaigrette. The portabella sandwich was also devoured by my vegetarian friend and deemed delicious! Next time I will have to try a shake and head over to check out the old circus posters.

We had heard great things, but so far it has been hit or miss. This is a summary of the five times we have been there. Their breakfasts have been better than their lunches. The serving sizes are not generous. The soup has been good. The last time I had the daily special: grilled cheese with cheddar, Swiss, bacon and tomato. It was disappointing, dry and the tomato was forgotten. The small dish of cole slaw was mediocre. Over priced for what we got. The hamburger was a bit disappointing. The service has been okay, polite and efficient. Overall, the food was average with glimmers of possibilities.

Home-made corned beef hash is their signature dish, and is fantastic. The Swedish pancakes are icing on the cake! Coffee is good, service reasonably fast and premises bright, clean. 50’s jukebox music, of course! Vintage B/W photos tastefully around walls, thankfully have captions. As a diner, is definitely 5 stars. My main problem here is that I always eat too much!

Went here for late breakfast after a camp-out at Devil’s Lake. SUPER-GREAT place to eat! This is an authentic Diner with a room added on that maintains the continuity of the original front structure. And yes, we got to listen to Wooly Bully, Sweet Talkn’ Guy, and a ton of feel-good oldies. Coffee – Delicious and great with their giant cinnamon bun – which was only like $ 2.49! I got the corned beef-hash which was better than any other hash I have eaten. The menu gives good details of how the food is made, and sometimes even where it is sourced. It was hard to decide what to get because you can tell there’s love in every dish. If you come after 11am you’ll loose out on a lot of good breakfast choices but there was still a lot of good ones available. My friend got a burger with some fresh-cut fries that looked delish, and he also loved the joint. I’ve never been in a diner where so much attention was paid to QUALITY. I wish I lived in Baraboo so I could come back more often.

Stopped into this place for lunch one day and we all ordered something different. I ordered an Italian burger, I didn’t care for it. My brother ordered a cheese burger he liked it, My sister in law ordered an Quiche and she said she has had better. We also ordered Strawberry pie for desert and all 3 of us said we have had better in other restaurants. Would we go back there NOWAY!
