The hosts are gracious and wonderful conversationalists. The rooms are comfortable. The breakfast is a delicious feast. The house is also only a few blocks away from the town square. Will definitely return if in the area.

Most B&B’s are hesitant on accepting children as guests, this one is not. This one also has quite spacious bathrooms — some with a Jacuzzi. If you have been hiking the day this would be a great thing to look forward to. Sharon does serve a sinfully delicious breakfast. She also makes the quilts you will see on the property. If you ask she can give you a crash course on the place quilts in American culture. Their website doesn’t have the capability to accept online booking and it needs some work. Don’t be put off, just call to make reservations. Remember to bring your check book as they don’t accept credit cards. But that is a small inconvenience for all the benefits and comfort. They are pretty flexible on the check in time too. So if you are in Baraboo check out this place.

We stayed at Gollmar B & B on Friday and Saturday nights. The host, John and Sharon, were so welcoming, and the house is beautiful. We had the room with the bath, and it was very clean and comfortable. Outside the door in the hallway there is a counter with a small fridge, a microwave and a small coffee pot. There was half and half in the fridge, sugar and coffee. There was also tea, and popcorn and even a CD player/radio that could be used in the room. There is a lounge room upstairs for the guests that has a tv, games, reading material, and comfortable places to sit and read, watch tv, or visit. While all of this was terrific, breakfast was amazing. Sharon is a great cook, and there was a different breakfast each of the mornings. Stuffed french toast, breakfast puff pastry, bacon, sausage, eggs, fresh fruit, homemade whipped cream, juice and coffee. Both mornings there was more food than we could eat. My husband really liked the stuffed french toast, and Sharon was quick to share the recipe with me, as well as preparation tips. We have not been to Baraboo before, and they were a resource for what we might do, and had a good idea of how long a visit to different places would take so we could plan our time. We are already planning another trip back to see some of the things we missed. I have been to quite a few B & B’s, and this is a top place to go.

This was my first bed&breakfast experience and it couldn’t have been better. We stayed in Viola’s Attic Room which is the best one in the house because it comes with a fireplace. The fireplace kept us warm throughout the entire night. In each room, there’s also a hot tub jacuzzi which was perfect after a day of hiking. This B&B is only miles away from Devil’s Lake. The couple(Sharon & Jon) that runs the B&B were the sweetest. They were quite accommodating to our schedule. We also met this other wonderful couple staying at the B&B and it was such a great experience to hear their stories from back in the hay-day. The best part was the breakfast. I was not expecting there to be so much food. I felt like a princess in a palace. The table was set beautiful with all the best homecooked breakfast items you can imagine. Just wonderful. Because this experience went so well, I have decided that whenever I travel, I will stay at a B&B whenever possible.
