What a class act! Been going every few years with the Nicholasville group since they opened in the 90’s… never disappoints. Menu is rotated and always fresh and new.

We have take a lot of train rides so if your going for the train ride Don’t go but if your going for a dinner, its ok. Is it worth 60 – 80.00, absolutely not! They do give you a card with the landmarks you will see on the ride, only problem is you don’t know what side of train their on and they do not announce that you are coming up to them. Also at the very end of the ride where the train stops to return back to station, the last attraction was blocked by empty train cars. When they told us that was the last attraction and we were heading back, it would of been nice to see it. .Our tickets were given as a gift but we would have been greatly disappointed if we had paid this much for this ride.

Perfect place to celebrate a Wedding Anniversary, Birthdays or just to experience a first class meal on a beautiful train ride. 4 people are set at each table. So, if you just one couple, you should be ready to meet new folks or bring another couple for a double date. The chefs on the My Old Kentucky Home Dinner Train are only the Best. I’ve been on the train several times and My husband and I have never had a bad word to say about the food. World Class Chefs and Great food every time. I personally can’t wait to go again. To ride the My Old Kentucky Home Dinner Train, you may want to put extra money aside. But, it is well worth the money spent for a wonderful meal and ride.

We had the priviledge of taking the dinner train about a year ago for our wedding anniversary. The trip, food, and service was exceptional. Hope we can find an excuse to go again.

Food was amazing. Bartender was the best in the state. The handmade Bloody Mary was sweet and spicy. I loved it. Order the prime medium rare or the sea bass. I would eat here every day if I could afford it. A++

Let me say first this is just my opinion and may not be Representative of everyone going. Pros: Very well planned, left on time arrived on time. Condition of the train was very excellent and clean, food was top notch Cons: absolutely boring train ride. very little scenery, no major stopping points of interest, nothing to do but sit there. very expensive for a train ride and standard meal. food is good but small portions

Overall, the dinner train is exactly that… a dinner train. If you’re planning to go for the view you will be greatly disappointed. If the owners of the dinner train and the neighborhood had some sort of co-op to enhance the views I would be giving this 5 starts. I gave it 4 only because it is better than A-OK but it’s really not quite 4 stars. The wait staff was great. We went for my bday and there were others who were also celebrating their bdays. As much as it can get tiring singing Happy Birthday multiple times the nice thing is theindividual recognition. This is definitely a neat attraction to bring visitors. The food was very good. I consider myself a foodie so to say«very good» means that I was pleased but it’s nothing to write home about. However, the portions were excellent, so much so that I still have leftovers. My hubby paid extra for a private table and flowers at the table. That made it extra special as we were the only one with flowers on the table. I’m not a huge fan of chocolate mousse but the idea of getting desert in a chocolate molded train was intriguing and cute. If they considered a cupcake or a cake shaped like a train that might be more appealing. I hope to attend to their sister train in Lexington next time. The next time will probably be with another couple. They do offer a military discount. It’s just too bad that they can’t be booked through the military ticket office. Hopefully, that can change in the future.

My husband and I decided to take a road trip out to Bardstown to ride My Old Kentucky Dinner train and see the fall leaves. Our food was very good. We had the salads, Hot Brown and Chocolate Choo Choo for Two. The waiters were very professional and nice. We sat across from a couple who were my parents’ age and they were very interesting and had lived in a lot of states, so we heard many stories. We had a nice conversation. Overall, I was pleased.

We visited this area in Kentucky for my husband’s birthday. I surprised him with bourbon distillery tours along with dinner here. I was excited because I thought it would be just us two at a table eating dinner while viewing the scenery outside. First, we were sitting at a table with two other women who turned out to be very nice… it’s just not what I was expecting. Additionally, there was a obnoxious lady sitting directly behind us who made the last half of the experience less than enjoyable. So needless to say, it was nowhere near as intimate as I was expecting. It’s fine, just would have been nice to know this in advance because I may have chosen a different place to eat at. Second, the scenery was quite disappointing. It mainly consisted of neighborhoods, houses, cars and some distillery buildings. We went through a «forest», but it wasn’t anything special. Thirdly, it was my husbands birthday as I mentioned earlier. So when I called to make reservations I let them know so there would be a candle/song with his dessert. I called twice before we arrived to confirm they had it written down. At the end, there was no candle or song for my husband. However, two other people that were in our section of the train had a candle and song with their dessert. It’s not a huge deal but I felt bad b/c it was his bday also. Ok so the food was good, not the best. My husband got the«famous» prime rib. He ordered it to be cooked medium but it was basically cooked well done. I got the shrimp and grits which was better than his dish I thought. Got the cobbler and apple dumpling for dessert. Both were ok. I believe it was absolutely overpriced for the quality of the food and lack of service(our waitress was not with it last tonight… she got multiple orders incorrect) Plus, I was mainly excited about the train ride/scenery which failed to impress me. I am usually easy to please, but for what I paid I would have expected more.
