Extraordinarily disappointing all around. Too loud, awful service, wrong order delivered after served«double checked»…after complaining about wring meal — server disappeared. While the hostess was lovely and apologized, it took my complaint directly to the manager to finally get the bill. Thankfully, the wrong meal was removed from the bill. Save your time and money… not worth the bother at all.

We went last night and it was very good. We got an excellent table and Kelly our waitress was just right. My only negative was when I called for a reservation I got a whole lot of we are full, let me see, okay we can fit you in at 5:45. We got there and the place was half full and stayed that way. All in all is was very good and we will go back.

Attended a family dinner last night with my sister, brother, wife and son. After a pre dinner drink, 4 out of the 5 meals arrived — my brothers was delivered to another table that had apparently ordered the same meal. Further, my son cut into his Steak Dianne(which he ordered medium) and it was literally raw. Three of us sat there with meals waiting for the other two to be prepared(or re-prepared). Our waiter apologized 4 times each time saying«i’m sorry I am doing the best I can». To top all this off, after waiting a solid 20 minutes to get the check(after asking for it) we were told there were computer problems and that was causing the delay. The computer problem? The owner/manager had taken the internet connection and connected it to her laptop and sat on a Skype session! You cannot make this stuff up! Never again …

I visited the restaurant again on Tuesday, December 27th for a dinner with a relative that I had not seen in a while. We both were looking forward to a place that offered good food, reasonable price, and nice atmosphere to relax and catch up on stories. Our prix fixe menu consisted of a delicious bowl of oysters, glass of wine, well made grey goose martinni, veal parm. and an interesting dessert neither of us have ever sampled called panna cotta. By far superb! Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and humorous when it suited. Not only do I enjoy the restaurant and menu items, but it is nice to have this type of quality establishment in the neighborhood. Check them out for yourself.

We have been to this place about 6 times. For special events like thanksgiving or just for a date night. Never disappointed. Stuff is amazing, food is different from most year-round places on the Cape. Charming atmosphere.

I’m really surprised about some of the other reviews with respect to concerns about service. We’ve eaten at Bistrot De Soleil 4 or 5 times, and the service has been excellent every time. I’m a vegetarian, and a couple times the server went above and beyond to accommodate me when there was no vegetarian option on the fixed price menu. Service aside, the food has been consistently excellent. The fixed price menu is an unbelievable bargain in that besides excellent appetizers, delicious and filling entrees and delectable desserts, a glass of wine is also included. We’re planning another visit soon.

We came here for our anniversary dinner and was pleasantly surprised to find this gem of a restaurant in downtown Hyannis. The server was very pleasant and attentive, the ambiance was very pretty and atmosphere was relaxed. We started with the onion soups — which were huge, we probably should have shared! My husband had the Coquilles St. Jacques — a yummy scallop and pasta dish and I had the Fruits de Mer which in a different twist was served over risotto and was delicious! We can’t comment n dessert because we were too full from cleaning our plates, but will return and try some then!

I’ve come to the Bistrot De Soleil a handful of times and I’ve never had a bad experience. In fact, even if I’m a pretty casual diner I’ve always found that I was treated like I was an important and fancy patron. It makes for a great date-night on Cape Cod. First, I’ve only ever tried their Prix Fixe menu because frankly its a great deal. A glass of wine, appetizer, entrée, and dessert for around 30ish dollars. I was impressed with my choices. My appetizer wasn’t just limited to a salad, I’ve had AMAZING soups, oysters, and mussels. The chicken Parmesan has always been good with a delicious tasting marinara and home made pasta. Unfortunately I’ve only ever ordered the cheesecake for dessert because it is the best and I cannot bring myself to order anything else. It feels fancy but not stuck up or over the top. On one instance my server had asked if we were trying to make the theatre after our meal like a few patrons before us, just so they could serve us accordingly. Just seemed very considerate and attentive. I would recommend this place to anyone.

This is so a place trying to appear fancier and higher-ended than it really is. The patrons seemed to feel more important for being there, too. Snooty staff that were neither friendly nor knowledgeable about the menu were our first impression. The feeling we had was that they threw white tablecloths on the tables so they would appear more upscale than other restaurants in the area. The waiter literally scoffed at the inquiry if there was a children’s menu. He also threw a look at me like I shouldn’t have brought my 6 year old well-behaved daughter out to their restaurant at 6pm. I threw him back a look that said she’s already smarter, more pleasant, and more polite than you. But enough of the unpleasant aura. The appetizers and main courses were very good. The desserts were terrible(ie the crème brûlée was like scrambled eggs) The menu was nicely varied and the prices were fine, considering the food was very good. In summary, good food, annoying service, non-impressive restaurant.

I don’t think the food is bad at all, it’s just their attitude. For the second time in a row I had to call back the following day because they had not bothered to call back and confirm a reservation for that evening. The first time they said«we were just going to call you»(late afternoon) This time, they said«oh, we haven’t got around to listening to the reservation line yet, but it doesn’t matter, we’re fully booked».(Again, late afternoon). This time, however, it was a party of 6 that won’t be coming back. I do realize it was a last minute attempt for a reservation but this place needs to get the front of the house in order, or, keep the owners off the phone

Came here for our anniversary dinner and it was fantastic we started off with a muscle appetizer and it was fantastic although I could’ve done without it. Then we proceeded to order the beef Wellington! They did not disappoint!! it was one of the best dinners I’ve ever had the service was okay but being in the business as long as I have I put that aside, the mashed potatoes weren’t as good as I thought they would be. But the dinner was good nonetheless we had 2 cappuccinos and cake which were not all that … I’d definitely come back

Great food. Very good service. Classy interior. Great value for the money spent if you arrive before 6 and take advantage of the price fix menu. You can have a very good meal, wine, appetizer and dessert for about $ 25.

last night’s dinner was horrible. I ordered Beef Wellington. the first attempt the pastry was burnt on the top, raw on the sides and bottom… the filet mignon inside was cooked okay but I couldn’t get past the raw pastry. the second attempt brought out undercooked pastry again and completely raw meat inside. My dinner companion had overcooked scallops with pasta that tasted of raw flour or something… not a creamy sauce. her second attempt brought properly cooked scallops but the same grainy, clumpy pasta. The appetizers were edible but nothing worth going back for. The party next to us were complaining of waiting so long they got free apps but they didn’t seem to pleased with the apps either. It was easy to hear them because we were sitting so close to them. Needless to say, we will not be going back.

I came here for my birthday dinner this evening after hearing great reviews of the food for the past year or so. The décor and atmosphere is pleasant, the crab cake appetizer is outstanding, and the pan seared scallops were delicious. Our server Louise was attentive, helpful and friendly. Overall, had an excellent experience and will return!

I have been here numerous times and have introduced many people to the restaurant. The food and value is excellent. Try the veal or eggplant parm, fish specials and always go for the pre fixe … a great value.

We finally cashed in a gift card and headed to this local place. It was outstanding. Mariana was out server and was so attentive. From the moment you walked in you felt like you were in a different world. I had the braised beef and it was awesome and my husband had the chicken sambocca. The prix fixe you can’t beat– a glass of wine, great fresh Cesar salad, meal and dessert — brownie a la mode and crème brûlée is what we chose– can’t be beat. The staff is so friendly attentive refilling waters, bringing bread, making sure all of your needs are met. The owners and chef are also visible. The bathrooms are super clean too– the nice hand soaps are a good touch! The décor is great too. But the food sets this place apart. Good portions, very flavorful and awesome. Updated: Second visit just as outstanding as the first. The food was awesome, I had the risotto that had butternut squash and caramelized onions of sorts and my husband had the scrimp scampi. The serves was great too. 5 stars all around! A hidden gem, our new favorite place. You have to check this place out!

Well I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Terrific atmosphere — love the colors, paintings and comfort. The music was just the right touch to the great meals we had. Off season prices are unreal and early bird is throughout the week. Early bird was terrific and once again very reasonable. But hey, lets talk about the food — tasty and well done — kudos to you folks. I had the Sole Francese Fillet of sole in egg batter pan seared with capers and artichoke hearts Finished with beurre blanc and parmesan cheese over angel hair pasta accompanied with asparagus. In addition, for early bird there was a choice of apps and dessert — all for $ 20.00 When ordering off the menu the prices are reasonable as well. My partner had the Eggplant Parmesan and pasta. Oh and did I tell you about parking. Easy as pie with a parking lot adjacent.

As I begin this review, let me say kudos to the management for a prompt and seemingly decisive action they took in response to my wife’s review. We had a less than stellar performance from our waiter, and she made everyone aware of this fact in her post. My reaction was identical to hers as well. I do not enjoy telling people how to do their job or speak to their boss, possibly getting them in trouble or fired.(I was seriously considering speaking to the manager about him, especially after she suggested a dessert and behind her back he made a «it’s nasty» face after she described the dish.) But even more so, I do not like bad/rude servers. At certain restaurants a level of professionalism, or lack of is understandable due to the type of eatery itself.(I’ve had amazing and horrible wait service at many diners, but when I get a bad one at a diner it seems less important.) Our server wasn’t a horrible one, but he is definitely not up to snuff for a restaurant of this quality and level of dining. While not rude, he was really inattentive and lacked the general charm and overall skill of other waiters in a restaurant of this caliber. My wife received a response from the Bistrot management less than 24 hours later stating that they were aware of the problem and«taking care of business as we speak.» That, even more so than the food has decided me to return as soon as possible to this amazing restaurant. The delicious food, the dim, candle-lit table, the lovely stream of Sinatra and other related music, the loud murmur and clank and clink of diners enjoying their meals as much as ours transformed this evening past a fantastic romantic Valentine dinner to an experience we will remember for a long while. I truly recommend the 2010 Kaiken-Mendoza Malbec if you are having a beef dish like the perfectly cooked Wellington I ordered. Also, the Coquilles St. Jacques(scallop) entrée was phenomenal. Sweet, big, and perfectly seared scallops and fantastic sauce, this dish had it all. The Polpettes Ala Napoletana was a dream as well.(meatball app) All dishes sauces and sides were first rate as well… A perfect evening to remember for sure.

Off the Bat, the 2 stars is for the service, the food would have been easily a 5. I had never heard of this place located in Hyannis but on Sundays(when I am up and catch it) I like to listen to «fooding around with John Rega» on the local radio station 95.1WXTK. He’s a great Ol’time talk show host that talks atbout different restaurants on the cape, recipes, and interviews some several«Prizes». One of them was a $ 50 gift card to Bistro De Soleil. I was exciting when a week later I receicved an email back stating that I was one of the winners! I emailed him my address as requested and a coule of days later got the coupon. My husband and I didn’t get to celebrate valentines day because there has been a lot going on in our lives so we decided to go to the Sunday following. I was really excited! I just wanted to get out to a fancy restaurant and enjoy and relax with him since we hadn’t in a while. My Husband set up a reservation for 6:30PM and they were pretty packed so they said they could fit us at high tables beside the bar. This was fine for us since we like to enjoy our drinks! When we got there the parking lot was packed! We parked in the back and thought, this place must be delicious because of how crowded it was. We walked in and gave our name to them and were seated immediately at the high bar seats. The décor was beautiful, it was dark and romantic. The music playing was Frank Sinatra, it was a great atmosphere. Our server came over, I don’t remember his name. He was wearing a white shirt and pink tie. Asked us what drinks we wanted. He was just serving ourselves and the couple behind us. Other then that, he was just hanging out behind the bar with the bartender. I ordered the Kendall Jackson CHardonnay and my Husband ordered a Long Island Iced tea. While the drinks were being ordered I headed to the bathroom which was ok but I loved that they had really nice smelling hand soaps and cream to use. I got back and my glass of wine, very generously filled was there and my husbands Long Island Iced tea. His long Island Iced tea was very very heavy with sugar. He likes his liquor and there was barely any in it. While I was enjoying my drink and he was regretting what he got we noticed a local ordering a delicious drink which the bartender started making even before the patron sat down, My Husband then I ordered that and we chatted a litte with the other patron who was super nice! The menu was amazing, So many choices of gourmet food, It was hard for me to decide. We decided to order the Pork Belly to split as an appetizer and for our main„ I ordered the sea Scallops with a mushroom cream sherry sauce and pappadelle pasta and my husband wanted the beef wellington. We had read great reviews about the bread so we wanted to make sure we got that also. THe waiter came back and took our order, My husband specified that we wanted the bread and he told us «ok, but that takes a while». I had never known a basket of bread to take a long time to get to a table and they should have been planning on bringing it to begin with. 2 minutes later the waiter comes back and says no pork so we ordered the Italian meatballs to start. The food came out promptly, still no bread,…then a couple of minutes later the bread. THe meatballs were delicious. Topped with Mozerella cheese and in a delicious tomato sauce that I could have drank, It had so much flavor. It only came with two but I;m glad there was no more because it was super filling and we wanted to save our appetite for the main course! The meal came shortly after the appetizer, perfect timing and OMG, it was amazing, I’m actually not a big scallop fan but the rest of the components of my meal sounded great and I didn’t want a heavy meat either. The scallops were sweet, perfectly cooked and incredible, The pasta and sauce were amazingly cooked. I literally was in heaven with every bite. My husbands beef wellington was incredible also, it came with mashed potatoes and french string beans. The string beans had a great sauce, filled with garlic. Every bite was great. I asked the waiter for pepper right when he dropped our plates off, and it never came. It would be one thing if he was super busy and crazy but at this time his GF came and stopped to have a drinks t the bar. I can see if I was at a place like Applebees to forget something like fresh black pepper but my meal was $ 22 and my husbands $ 30 just for the main course. I think I deserve a little pepper. He didn’t come back in time to check on us. I just sucked it up and ate it without pepper, and it was incredible. I had a couple of bites of my husbands. When we were getting close to finishing, I had a bite and there was a hair in it. It was a short hair and we were trying to compare it to my boyfriends to see if it was his or someone else’s. At this point our waiters girlfriend who was sitting at the bar, having a glass of wine was staring me down. She and her boyfriend(our waiter) had been

I have eaten at Bistro De Soleil 4 times and enjoyed the prix fixe menu selections each time. On two occasions the service was intolerably slow. The hostess is rather aloof, which is disappointing. The food is GOOD. One disappointment though was the mozzarella and tomato salad. Way, way too much balsamic vinegar was drowning, rather than complimenting the ingredients. On one occasion, I sat at the bar while waiting for my husband to join me. It took the bartender well over 5 mins to acknowledge my presence. There were only 2 other patrons seated there. Then it took another 10 mins for him to even make my cocktail, which he made wrong! The service is really lacking, except for Pablo, who is pleasant, attentive without being cloying, and knowledgable. The hostess really needs to warm up. By the third visit to a restaurant(off-season!) one would expect a big smile and«good to see you again». Treat the locals right and we’ll be coming through the door when it’s off-season, the lack of warmth or recognition as well on our way to being regulars has kept us from being regulars. BTW, my husband and I eat out at least 5 times a week! Their loss.
