I’m a volunteer at Catchpenny and enjoy it very much. Hopefully, there are others out there who might like to join the volunteer staff at this great store. There are tremendous buys here for everyone in the family. Also, we get donated designer clothes in very often. Come volunteer!

While the prices are good the service could be a little friendlier. What’s so hard about greeting customers? Isn’t that the idea///to make the shopping experience enjoyable?

Pros: I’ve found some great things here, and if you’re willing to spend some time shopping, their prices certainly can’t be beat. My best finds include shoes, bags, vintage blouses, costume jewelry, and once, a well-kept fox fur for $ 25. Location is handy. Cons: Service sucks. These are, of course, little old ladies volunteering through Good Shepherd hospital, but few of them seem to want to be there and most of them are plain mean. The store closes at 4 on weekdays — also a drag — and the sales«girls» start nagging you to bring your items up to the counter at about quarter after 3. They’ll stare at you suspiciously no matter who you are — God help you if you’re black and under 50. Odors of mothballs and occasionally faulty sewage lines permeate the store most days.
