Handyman Connection

This is my first timing using Handyman Connection recommended by a colleague. The company itself was quick to respond, sent out a gentlemen which went thru a list of things that I wanted done. My list consisted of Faucet replacement for bathrooms, Kitchen faucet replacement, wall repair from water damage, and new bathroom counter top installed. In addition I wanted some trim put around my mirrors. We discussed a price and he told me it would take him a full day 7 – 8 hours I thought it was a little pricey but really wanted the work done and agreed. I had a specific date in mind and wanted things coordinated with other projects and also taking a day off work. We were scheduled and all set. He was to arrive at 9am, arrived at 9:30 and by the time he unpacked got ready and was done chit chatting it was after 10am. He started several things at once which seemed fine as things needed to dry and what not. At 1:30 he took a 2 hour lunch and arrived back at 3:30pm. He said he was ½ done at that point but was not even close. He later had to run back to menards to pick up something I didn’t have which took another hour. and at 7pm he wanted to leave and come back later in the week to complete the list for an additional charge to me. At that point that was not an option, I expressed my huge disappointment with his progress and informed him I would only pay for what he completed. At that point he disruptively gathered his things, was very short and rude. He told me he too was very disappointed and shut the door in my face.
Needless to say, I am very displeased and had to hire someone else to come in and finish the job.

I made an appointment with Barrington office several weeks ago for today. They did not arrive and they did not call. Evidently they completed forgot or were not interested. So why would I want to do business with them again.

I called Handyman connection in Barrington IL. to have a bunch of odd electrical jobs completed. There were about 5 items on my list and I felt they could handle them. It took them a WEEK to set an appointment. When the day came, the handyman gave me an estimate and started on the first of the five jobs, about 1 hour later and no jobs complete, he tells me he has 2 other appointments to go on and he would be back in about an hour to an hour and a half. I was very surprised since the office knew what I needed completed and they gave me a estimate of time needed to complete. Well, the repairman left about 11:30 and NEVER came back, no calls nothing. My whole day was lost as I took it off from work and got nothing accomplished. When I called the local office they really gave me an attitude when I asked why the repairman never came back or called. Their response was one of they could care less. I had been a long time customer and was shocked by their behavior, I cannot recommend this company any longer as the customer is not important to them any longer. I guess I will start my quest to find another company who appreciates paying customers.

I have been calling Handyman Connection for several years now, for practically anything you can name that can go wrong in your home. They have never disappointed me! The receptionist is always helpful and gets somebody out as quickly as possible, and with somebody who knows how to fix what I have described. The techs are always friendly, professional and do the job quickly, not running up your bill unnecessarily. There has never been any second guessing on how to fix something — they get it right the first time. I would highly recommend them.
