Food was good with a decent beer selection. Service was absolutely horrible. Our server mentioned they were under staffed… he was also the bartender, waiter, bus boy and probably the dishwasher. He was very nice and I don’t think it was his problem… he was trying. Not sure what the deal was here but clearly this place was very understaffed. If the experience is always like this, I will never be back.

Came for lunch w my wife on a Saturday afternoon. Not very busy. Food is ok. Décor is drab and uninspired. Service is atrocious — bunch of untrained, inattentive staff. Not likely to return or recommend.

Never saw smaller baby back ribs in my life. Looked like mouse ribs. $ 26 please Staff is friendly Huge dining room. Good bar. But giving ribs a fancy pants name is misleading. Portion sizes at all restaurants are shrinking and cost rising. But that’s not news.

Been here a few times with different groups, and each time the food is consistently blah. It’s not good when you catch a smell off a hamburger before you get it to your mouth. It was much better as the Bamboo Grille. However, a snack and a drink on the patio overlooking the stretching views of the golf course is a good place to be with good people.

Thus far my meals here have been forgettable but I come back because of the pleasant atmosphere and the knowledge that I’ll never have to wait to be seated. Most recently I had the Atlantic salmon salad which was a confused mix of orzo, apple slices, dill dressing, and over cooked salmon. My friend had the crab cake salad which was drowned in shredded cheese. Neither meal left us hungry but definitely left something to be desired. Honestly the only reason I’m giving a 3 star rating is because of the bar. Drinks are reasonably priced and my bartenders have been helpful and friendly. I think for now on I’ll pass on the food and go straight to drinks.

Great outdoor seating and awesome happy hour. $ 4 beers. The specials on the menu were done really nice and had a great taste. Our waiter was very friendly which made for a nice evening out. Great place to go for an outdoor meal.

The service is horrible. How do you have 1 bartender on a Friday night. 30 minutes after food is delivered silverware shows up. Shame on them.

Went for a girls night out… The patio was very busy so we decided to sit inside instead of waiting 45 minutes for an outdoor table for 2. Our waiter was very pleasant and attentive, although a little young and unable to give any recommendations on the drink specials. However, martinis were $ 6 that night so really couldn’t complain about trying a couple of different ones. My friend enjoyed her turkey burger and my farmhouse salad was good. We shared the Margherita pizza appetizer and that was excellent with fresh mozzarella. Overall, A nice upgrade to the restaurant that was previously at the club and certainly comparable to other Delicious Heights locations.

«Un-Delicious Lows Compost» I dine out often and can honestly say that this place serves the worst food that I have ever tasted. The dried out meatloaf tasted like cardboard… overcooked vegetables and it took forever to be served. Yuk! Can you imagine charging $ 24.00 for their cafeteria level food? Dine here at your own peril. You can get edible and really delicious food at the Blackhorse Pub for half the price. And how perfectly ironic that they call themselves«Delicious.» Their food is anything but. Make that butt awful.

A cool location on the patio. The service by Alexandra was friendly and the musicians provided a really cool vibe. On the negative side, the bugs ate us alive. Provide bug zappers and this place would move up at least one star.

The sweet potato fries are everything. Nice atmosphere and good drinks. The wings, guacamole and a few of the other appetizers are pretty good. Nothing special on the menu, but do try the sweet potato fries. You won’t be disappointed!

$ 10 for a Domaine Chandon mimosa in a tiny flute. Come on man… that’s a disgrace. Very nice looking place but if this is the price for a Sunday morning mimosa, I’ll skip it.

Had dinner at the Outpost tonite with M and our daughter’s Katie’s family(Kevin and the three kids Ryan, Regan and the Brady — age 4). Everything was very nice and excellent service by George. Eating with kids requires extra napkins, extra utensils for sharing, smaller plates and many other small things that were anticipated. The table layout was not too close together to allow pretty of talking room and we had a great view of the lighted trees outside. I had the lunch size portion(no problem) of the seared salmon with mashed and sautéed spinach. Cooked just right. All other other orders were also well prepared and the menu allowed everything from snacks to steaks. M and I shared the bread pudding for dessert and it was great with homemade cranberry sauce, ice cream, and chocolate accent things. Really a great presentation. Wonderful evening and with the kids help, we even developed several ideas for the next great internet investments. It might be the right time for getting in on the ground floor.

I came here last weekend and totally disappointed. I had been before, and while never great, we loved the outdoor seating overlooking the golf course. Service was always slow, the menu overpriced, and the food just so so, but a relaxing place to spend the afternoon. This past weekend, service was non-existent. We were seated outside, and it took over 20 minutes for our drink and appetizer order to be taken and another 15 to get them… and while all other patrons received a frosted mug for their beer, i received no glass at all, so I asked for one, and received a regular glass. At this point the waiter disappeared once again, finally he came and took our order, after 45 minutes, no food, and still no waiter. I went to get the manager and then the person i asked disappeared. Then the manager and someone else show up at our table with 4 out of 5 orders with completely different food than we had ordered, and when we mentioned it, just took it away without even an apology. Well, then she disappeared and no one came back, except to take away the food from the one of us who got the correct order, without asking or an apology, or offer of something to make up for the poor service. After 15 more minutes of no food we left… worst experience at a restaurant in a long time, and for the prices here, absolutely inappropriate. Avoid, the manager does not seem to care and neither does the staff.

This place, DH oupost in Basking Ridge country club, has the most beautiful surrounding around it. It does not seem so from the drive but once your inside, the views are amazing. There is also something on the menu for everyone. The food was superb! We ordered the Buffalo wings and mozzarella sticks. Both were made to perfection! No complaints here. Everything was crunchy and flavored to perfection. We later ordered a chicken Ceasar wrap and a blacked chicken wrap. The Ceasar wrap was $ 12 and the blacken chicken wrap was $ 13. Both were amazing picks. Overall ee left highly satisfied and i will return. O wont order a lemonade bc it was very tart but everything else was to die for!

Never really liked menu and prices of other DH restaurants. Disappointed they took over BG. Liked that menu better when sitting outdoors. Don t bother going.

Not a big fan of the DH in Berkeley Heights because I always felt it’s very average food for very above average prices. We decided to try The Outpost though because we loved the outdoor atmosphere of the Bamboo and wanted to give it a try. All I can say is at least they’re consistent. Very average to below average food for above average prices. Got a $ 30 Snapper that I needed a steak knife to cut through. That’s not a joke. I actually needed a steak knife. I love my seafood but this is something I imagine at Red Lobster. After a while I was trying to dissect it to get to the slightly more tender stuff in the middle. Paired with the glorified french fries it was served with and you have an extremely disappointed(but not surprised) customer. The extremely stingy glasses of wine don’t help. A few positives though is the service is very friendly and the atmosphere outside is still epic. Although I was a little surprised there was no music on a beautiful Saturday night in July. Despite these positives though I don’t see myself ever going back.

No vegetarian should be caught eating here unless she golfs or likes hanging out at a country club. Relaxed outdoor dinning, so unfair to criticize slow paced(but friendly and attentive service) in a country club setting. For the record, we took well over 70 – 80 mins to get in and out. I could spot exactly one veggie option in each course of the menu(chips and guacs don’t count). One veggie salad, one veg entrée, and one veg wrap as part of the special(see pics). I ordered veg platter which was a delightful mix of grilled veggies but very thin on protein(suggest adding hummus to the mix, please?). «Baba ganoushe» was a bit of surprise; sliced and grilled eggplant — unconventional in my opinion. Roasted sweet potatoes were surprisingly delicious. Grilled pita slices were tough to eat as there really is nothing to dip them in(and white pita is tough to eat all by itself even when grilled). Throw in an IPA @ $ 6 a pop and this place can get solid $$+ for a moderate lunch.

Big place with a middle-of-the-road American menu, and six taps including Lagunitas IPA plus full bar of course. Like the Bamboo grille before it, the Delicious Heights Outpost is the requisite 19th hole of the Basking Ridge Country Club. Public welcome, you can drink indoors, on the enclosed patio or at a table on the big open patio, all the while keeping an eye on the course sloping away down the hill. The crowd is well dressed with lots of(surprise!) collared golf shirts and no denim lol. Many TVs but no volume, some classic rock music playing low, and plenty of carpet so it’s a quiet place, good for a conversation. At lunch we tried a grilled chix sandwich($ 13), a grilled veg wrap(fair at 12) and fish tacos(overpriced at $ 16). Chicken sammich was large and piled with tomato, peppers etc., almost enough for 2. The vegetable wrap was stuffed with mushroom, squash, pepper etc. that had all been grilled, plus some lettuce and mozzarella, also included a generous side of Belgian-style fries and some vinaigrette dressing for the wrap. Fish tacos were(to their credit) grilled chunks of spiced fish, lots of slaw and a bit of mayo on top — very good but not remotely«Mexican» by which I mean no cumin, no cilantro, no lime to squeeze etc. Side of dirty rice with beans was almost sweet, again lacking all trace of Mex seasoning. Beer prices were especially decent considering it’s a golf course, pints were $ 6 at lunch. Haven’t yet been for happy hour. Vegetarian rating: 2.5 stars, they’re trying here altho not very hard: grilled vegetable app, pierogies, fresh guac, grilled veg wrap, penne vodka, a grilled veg platter(they’re big on the grilled veg here) and several salads(if you tell them to hold the bacon :). Our waiter was a holdover from the Bamboo grille but in a good way, friendly and helpful. But neither he nor I could quite explain why the table that sat down after us received their food before us, hmm. Worth a visit, 3.5 stars. They’re really schizo about their name. Is it the D.H. Outpost? The Delicious Heights Outpost? Or just Delicious Heights? Pick your favorite, you can find them all on a visit here.

Delicious Heights Outpost has a lot going for it. This place used to be Bamboo Grill, and it’s located right next to Basking Ridge Golf Club. The dining room, patio and bar all have a very nice view of the golf course. In nice weather, the outside dining for lunch or dinner should be great. It’s a spa-quality setting. Dined here recently with some friends and the food was generally good(sometime very good), while our service was uniformly excellent(thank you Blaze). Based on the apps & entrees we had, I think the kitchen is still ironing out a few kinks. The corned beef nachos were superb(no cabbage in evidence however, as per the menu). My date had a reuben, which was quite good except for an almost total absence of sauerkraut(Blaze brought some on the side immediately). Requests for gluten free menu options seemed to confuse the kitchen, although again thanks to our server this was worked out quite nicely. Some of my friends seemed to love their dinners while others said it was just okay. Again, I am guessing the kitchen is still ironing out the details. Prices for all food and drinks are quite reasonable, and the selection is wide enough to please most palettes. This is not«fine dining» but for casual dining it’s the upper end of that range. I will certainly go back and try it again soon. The only real downer of the evening was upon our arrival at the front door, a manager(I assume) from the restaurant was loudly yelling at a younger employee, in language best suited for a biker bar(a biker bar at 1 am). This incident was loud enough for anyone walking in or out to hear, and really was unprofessional. I’m sure this was just an anomaly, but as it was our first time here, it really gave us pause. I can recommend this spot confidently, and am bookmarking it to try again soon.
