My husband was craving spaghetti Monday night so he, my daughter, and I tried the place for dinner. We grabbed the last available table and were promptly greeted by a young man who brought us menus and took our drink orders. He returned with a complimentary plate of delectable cheesy bread and marinara dipping sauce. Our drinks were brought out by a sweet waitress who called my husband by name, he had taught her at the local Christian school. She was kept busy with 2 large tables and then there were the 2 small tables with a constant flow of to go orders. Hubby got a huge bowl of pasta, part brought home for his lunch today. Daughter and I shared a hamburger and red pepper 8 inch pizza which turned meatless because they had run out of hamburger and we both agreed the other meats didn’t interest us. oh my, we devoured the pizza! Thin, crispy crust and loads of cheese baked in the brick oven. we will so be back. Hubby thought he needed gelato and had the last of the vanilla and a strawberry crumble on bottom. this was disappointing as it was old. the ONLY disappointment though. We had a wonderful meal and time. Looking forward to our next visit.

My husband and I had dinner at Bastianos, it was phenomenal pizza. We ordered build your own… marinara sauce was so fresh tasting, this is no canned ordinary sauce, and you get a wide choice of real cheese, we chose Asiago, then we added pepperoni and Italian sausage. Best pizza I’ve had in years. We finished by sharing a small Gelato dark chocolate, it was amazing. If you are looking for a genuine fabulous freshly made pizza with quality ingredients this is your place. The ambiance added to the authentic experience, Italian music softly playing in the background makes for a great casual date night. We will make this a regular thing from here on. It’s a mom n pop place and a must for those who want to have a great pizza instead of the cardboard delivery style. You will be a fan too!

No beer or wine but you can bring your own. Good prices and I love the wood fired oven! The bread sticks are worth the trip… You can make a meal out of them alone.

First off, I am not able to recommend this place currently for the following reasons: staff change and the quality of pizza went down hill. This has been my opinion for the last few months, and I just now am writing a review because I am fed up with not getting my money’s worth. So, I ordered the make your own 18″ pizza on 5÷14÷16 with toppings: chicken, basil, hamburger, and pepperoni(requested half and half with the toppings, and basil on entire pizza), light cheese and marinara sauce. When I ate the pizza, I had a mouth full of crust with a tiny bite of toppings. Hey, I said light cheese, not no cheese. The flavors are still there, so I know I’m eating pizza. But please, original owners and staff, return as soon as possible. And please, stop cutting back on the toppings. There should few empty spaces on my pizza if it’s prepared right before baking. I know, picky-picky. When my Husband and I started dining here, the lady would create the pizza with I swear 3 layers of cheese, and that’s why I started requesting light cheese. The crust– hand tossed and very good! The gelato-so good! Get a sample and whatever you like, get a large(smile). Some flavors sell quick. My favorite so far, strawberry, vanilla, and cookies and cream. The décor-very nice and inviting(5 stars here). Folks, please do some cleaning. The area in front of the benches, across from the cashier is slick, like oil is on the floor. The sliding doors for the gelato freezer have prints all over them. The prep area has over flowing trash(yes there was trash on the floor). The bathroom is decent and I don’t mind using it. Staff really should be mindful about what they are wearing to work. One young lady was wearing clothes that do no fit properly. Her shirt was so little, it showed part of her stomach and back. And her pants, well, those were so tight, she barely could fit her memo pad in her back pocket. I feel her attire is not proper for the workplace, but hey, I’m not the owner, just a patron who would like to see employees dressed accordingly for work. I may return in a few months to see if any changes have been made.

Four star pizza for a large city. Five stars plus bc it’s in a small’ish town. We grabbed the pizza and shrimp pasta on the Hyatt Lost Pines. OMG! So glad we did. $ 30 for a great meal for a family of five. W leftovers for he next day at the pool. Thanks!

Not brick oven pizza. Sauce is very acidic. Comparable to Dominos. I didn’t expect too much since I am a native New Yorker, but it’s definitely not made from a brick oven.

The pizza was so delicious! We ordered the supreme pizza(best I’ve ever had) and margarita pizza. The toppings are quality and the pizza is cooked in a stone oven. The servers were super nice too! We will definitely be back!

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful food!!! At great prices!!! I wish I could transport this restaurant to San Antonio with me!!! This restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere — the floor tiles, the tiled tables, the fire oven… The staff was very nice and friendly. The menu is simple and perfect because of that. They have different pasta dishes every day if the week(and spaghetti and meatballs everyday, I believe). They have several types of pizzas, which looked yummy, but we didn’t try the pizza. Their dinner special is a steal and customizable. For $ 9.99, you get a pizza OR calzone OR pasta of the day, AND salad OR soup of the day, AND breadsticks OR vegetable of the day. We had their chicken and penne pasta — grilled chicken with penne pasta, tossed in olive oil and herbs. Perfect. Their soup of the day yesterday was cream of vegetable — a cream-based soup with spinach, bell peppers, and mushrooms. Okay, so, I’ll admit, none of those veggies are on my favorite list. But I was intrigued by the idea of the soup, so I tried. YUMMY!!! Best and most unique soup I have had in a very long time! My sister also had the green beans — freshly sautéed and very good. I had breadsticks. Again — yummy! My 3 year old chowed down on it all! My 9 year old just wanted a salad and breadsticks, so she ordered a side house salad(big for a side salad, and well priced). The breadsticks were 2 for 50 cents more. We left this restaurant nicely sated. The food wasn’t heavy like you’d find at certain chain ItLian restaurants. It was perfectly filling. They also have homemade ice cream, but we didn’t try that. I’ll have to remember this place the next I’m driving through Bastrop hungry!

My only regret about eating here is that I have not been here sooner! The breadsticks are so light and airy, as well as the pizza crust. Salad was fresh, not watery like in many places when kept in cooler to long. It was very obvious that the ranch dressing is fresh made(confirmed by the owner, Chris, who was halt to come visit) in house. We had to make room for in house fresh made Gelato and frozen yogurt. It did not disappoint either. Atmosphere is very nice, nice music playing and our server was so gracious, sweet and on top of our needs. Eating here was a delight! I foresee many trips to Bastiano’s!

We had the Meat-atarian and 6 piece breadsticks, we thought the breadsticks were the best we have ever had, and what can I say about a wood fired oven baked pizza, it was perfect, thin crust nice and crispy, we want to go back but we are going back to Minnesota. We wish we would have tried this our first night here. The prices are great also, actually we thought the were a hair cheaper than they could be.

This place is special. They have a real stone pizza oven, and they make tasty pizza. They also have great pasta specials. One of the owners is vegan, so they understand that. The no-cheese pizza is quite good. They said they were going to have some vegan ice cream too.

My Wife and I truly enjoy the food here. The place is rather clean and the ambience is nice. It’s a family thing with this restaurant. I’m saying that in the most sincerest of ways. The family element is strong and the folks running it make you feel welcome. We initially ate here in 2014 after seeing an advertisement on a heb receipt. You know upstarts can be tricky because you roll the dice eating there. You can say that about any eatery but this was a new place. We got a large pizza and ate it over a few days. The believe our toppings were pepperoni, hamburger, sausage, basil. Wow! All real toppings and a hand tossed crust and cooked in a wood burning oven to boot. We’ve eaten there multiple times since and the place hasn’t disappointed. Tonight 12.17.15 I grabbed a medium and cheese sticks. The place just gets it right. I seriously recommend this place if you’re heading through Bastrop. The gelato they have is pretty good too.

Kudos to the wonderful staff. Their standard fare typically includes butter on most dishes. Once they heard«vegan» they special ordered some pasta and some green beans without butter. Many places would not offer to do this, especially on a busy evening. Their house-made food is very good and very reasonably priced. They know how to treat customers right!

A great find in Bastrop! Food is consistently delicious, staff and owner are very friendly, and the gelato and ice cream rivals anything you can find in Austin.

Might be the best value in Bastrop. Pizza, Calzone and Pasta dish, all very high quality for a low price. Friendly service keeps everything moving. Great family spot. It’s a little tucked in behind everything, but really glad we found it.

We just had the best brick oven pizza ever!!! Excellent food, service with a smile, and really nice atmosphere. Had a family salad to share, the Bastiano pizza, and home made ice cream and gelato for desert. Kids said it was even better than Blue Bell! Will definitely be back again.

I gotta say, this small, family owned restaurant is worth visiting. Cheesy bread and pizza hit the spot. We’ll definitely keep this place in mind anytime we crave pizza.
