Not much to look at from the outside… nor necessarily the inside. You’re not going to come here for the ambiance, or to take a date as a great first-impression. BUT, if you’re in the mood for some very good(not quite great) Mediterranean style food, it is worth your visit. Food was tasty and freshly prepared with good portions. Was a little slow getting out the food, but this is not uncommon for freshly prepared food(not really a complaint, just a fact). I will definitely visit again and would recommend.

Late dinner with 2 friends, I had rib eye steak, zero complaints on that. Friends were pleased with their entrees also(chicken Parm and chipotle chicken and shrimp).

I choose this restaurant this year for our banquet. The food was amazing. All of my guests were very pleased. I have visited their restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. It’s always clean and the food is delicious. The service is also wonderful

I. want. everything. here. We just moved to the area, and the first good big thing is that it’s a 3 minute drive! Sure, the building looks a bit dated, but we were willing to try it because of the convenient location. BOY, WHAT A GREATDECISION! Hubby raved about the chicken alfredo for two days, and when we came back the next week, he got the same thing again! I’m more adventurous, and so far, everything has been great, especially the baked brie, I could live on that, with the fresh apple slices, what a pair, super YUM! I have a feeling we will become regulars… good wine, good company, good food, what could be better!

For Bastrop its not bad, some of the food is great while others seem to be very bland, the hummus was very very bland mushed chick peas I may be spoiled from eating all the best Mediterranean food in Houston so I will leave that be. Its always friendly and quaint and the servers and staff always happy.

S-L-O-W food. Too many tables for one waitress coupled with a kitchen that appears to be too small or understaffed. Took 45 minutes to get salads and got our entrees an hour in. They should bring bread before the entrée. Especially when you wait so long for salads. The chicken Sophie was okay, but not well seasoned. It would have been better with a lemon piccata sauce instead of Alfredo. This dish came with a generous portion of pasta Alfredo. It was very bland. Next time I’m over-ruling the desires of the family and going to Larrie’s Smokehouse.

This was a good place for dinner, stopped in on 11÷18÷15. We are from Houston and eat a lot of Mediterranean, our next door neighbors are Egyptian. We chose to share the Mezza platter and a Greek salad. The Meze platter which is an appetizer for two came with nice, warm, toasty pita bread, some good Feta cheese, a rougher grind hummus(which I like), baba ganush(very garlicy), & kalamata olives. It was a good amount of food and the salad had the same olives and feta cheese with red onions, cucumber, tomato, lettuce and the dressing which was just a tad heavy but still good. We enjoyed it and ate just about everything before we got stuffed. Would like to go back and try some of their other items some time. As other people have mentioned, the interior is nothing to write home about. They are trying to dress up the exterior a bit, but it’s an old building that could use a good makeover.

There didnt seem to be many options driving through bastrop, and this place looked interesting. Italian and Mediterranean mix, with all the things on the menu should’ve been a warning sign up front, but I was craving a gyro. Ordered what I thought would be «safe options» and got a gyro wrap & chicken parm. sandwich. WOW, it was bad. The«gyro» tasted like a chopped up burger /sirloin… nothing like any gyro wrap I’ve ever had. The chicken parm was very oily and appeared to be a frozen chicken patty deep fried with some parmesan cheese thrown on top. Very very underwhelming, far from«restaurant quality» I was expecting… Their fries were good, but the majority of the«real food» that was ordered was not appetizing at all. Would not recommend.

Chad’s eSCAPE Review. Service. While the staff was friendly, it took a very long time to get waited on. Towards the end of the night when I was obviously done, it took quite a long time to get my check as well. I had ordered Pita and Hummus as an appetizer and the particular dish I ordered had Pita and Hummus as part of the meal as well. Instead of making me aware of that or offering a substitution, I was brought a second plate of Pita and a second bowl of hummus that was placed right next to the ones I hadn’t finished yet. Cost(+). I was pleasantly surprised how inexpensive the entire menu was. They could probably get away with raising prices a pinch and patrons(unless they are regulars) would never notice. Atmosphere. The restaurant was set up kind of «diner» style. It didn’t seem to capture any motif of the Mediterranean and Italian fare they serve. Palate(+). The food was very well prepared and tasted great. The hummus(both dishes of it) were very good. The serving sizes were wonderful and I left very satisfied with my meal. Everything Else(+). A mix of Mediterranean and Italian dishes was a neat touch. Many people either love or dislike Mediterranean food. Having the Italian option is genius. They take it one more step as well. They offer a Craw-fish Chowder that is a local/Southern favorite and I had to try it. It was pretty good even though it didn’t go with the rest of my dinner.

I noticed walking in that local paper rated this place as «2nd best restaurant in town.» I was skeptical, because I was harshly judging the location(it’s a bit hidden) and the low ceiling. But by the time my appetizer was finished, classic hummus, cedar’s Mediterranean became my new favorite bastrop restaurant. They should work it out with HEB to sell their hummus and house dressing. The tomato/parm dressing is perfection and it’s addictive. Entrée is marvelous. Staff is friendly, attentive and not overdone. Treat yourself, this place is a brag to friends you discovered it kind of find.

Wow! Very international. Excellent Cajun gumbo, lamb and okra stew, baba ganush, and kebabs. Next time we’ll try the Italian. Needs a decorator badly but the food is very good.

I ordered the penne rustica. The plate of penne was full of wonderful goodness. This plate was very rich and more than enough for one person. Our wateritress was wonderful. She provide prompt service and was knowledgeable enough to help us decide what to order. I will return.

Old run down place but don’t let that fool you-the food we had was great. Tomato florentine soup, chipotle hummus and chicken Greek salad were fabulous

I dinged them a star a year ago for how the building looks, but that’s not fair. The food is so delicious! I had the special, blackened tilapia and shrimp. Yum! Even the sides, corn and green beans,(which made me hesitate ordering this dish) had a complimentary flavor. The hubby got the chicken and shrimp pasta. The cream sauce was my favorite part. There was a nice size chicken breast and a fair amount of shrimp. There were no leftovers. I also love that the wine(& food!) prices are reasonable and they have a good variety. We enjoyed the prosecco. Definitely a good date night spot for Bastrop.

My girlfriend and I went here last night and let me just say that we were blown away! We began with an appetizer of Fried Mozzarella sticks w/marinara… Hot and melted just right! She choose the Shrimp Scampi w/Crawfish Chowder and I the Mahi-mahi special topped with lobster and crawfish bits. Everything was cooked to perfection! The best dinner we have had in Texas to date! The chowder had just the right amount of spice and only found one flaw… the bowl was too small, it was DELICIOUS!

Service was great! Out server was friendly and kept our tea glasses filled without being intrusive and added to the positive experience. I had the lamb Kafta special and it was delicious! The lamb was moist, flavorful and fragrant. Tabouli was fresh and balanced the richness of the meat perfectly. The humus was light and had a perfect lemon flavor that’s de the whole dish feel bright and I loved the pita bread! I was too full for desert but I got some baklava to go so ill get to enjoy that sweet gooey goodness later :)

Cedar’s is a family-owned restaurant with an eclectic menu and laid back atmosphere. I can honestly recommend most everything here, especially the penne rustica, chicken parmesan, and famous creamy crawfish chowder. This is great pitstop for a lunchtime falafel with fries or a semi-romantic Italianish dinner. The waitstaff here are generally friendly and fast, and I especially recommend Kat! Don’t let the not-super-nice neighborhood deter you from trying this place out!

Well what a nice surprise. Judging by the building front and the fact that we were in Bastrop we weren’t expecting much. The prices are also unassuming as is the fact they have at least three genres of food on the menu. Greek AND italian with a decent Texas wine selection. Started with the generous and delicious greek sampler. The salmon special was incredible! Seriously blown away. The the chicken stuffed w sausage and pasta got rave reviews too. The okra and potatoes were also good. As strange as menu seemed at first they did all the genres really well. And to think some restaurants can’t do a single type of food well… Kat was our waitress, she was friendly and very helpful. Will be stopping here on our next trip to or through Bastrop.
