Good frozen margarita swirled with Sangra. Mohito with cilantro was good. Sheri had the chicken beast with shrimp and clams sauce; loved it.

Simply, not good. The water tastes dirty. The tortilla soup was bland. Chicken enchiladas? Nope, no flavor there. The charro beef was the most flavorful thing but still not good and too salty. Truly disappointing.

After sitting at the bar long enough to check my emails without getting any service, in a medium crowd at 2 pm, i walked over to a waiter and asked if anyone was working the bar I said I had been there awhile and he said he did not think so Decent lunch next door at Taco Cabana

First time here. Hubby ordered the carne asada. Big piece of meat with the fixings. I ordered el Plato Loco. Two enchiladas, tamale and fajita burrito. Staff is very friendly.

My chicken enchilada tasted fishy, literally. The water was nasty. I can eat most anything, but i couldnt eat the food here. We did not have to pay for our picked at meal. But they didnt even ask us what was wrong with the food. Bad management.

HORRIBLE! It’s been a few weeks since I was there so maybe things have changed. However, my visit required 90 minutes of my life that I’ll never get back so I can’t pretend it never happened. I was confused the second I walked in. I didn’t know if I was in a steak house or Mexican Food joint… there was a sign for each. My first mistake was sitting in the bar area, a place where food patrons often take a back-seat to those seated at the bar. This place was no exception — even re-defining my thoughts on such. To make things worse, my waitress had friends in the bar area so I prepared myself to wait even longer than expected… I did… a lot. My next mistake was going to the salad bar where I was greeted by… remnants of salad makings. Except for the lettuce bowl. The lettuce bowl was filled with dingy water and almost-melted cubes of ice where the lettuce once sat/soaked. I asked if they had any more lettuce and soon was accommodated with lettuce which was dumped into the dingy water bowl. Thanks. The crackers were good, though. My next mistake was ordering a steak(still thinking I was in a steak house, but not positive). Despite requesting medium-rare, I was presented with a hamburger-sized slab which would soon be jerky. My baked potato almost as bad — pretty sure it had been twice baked several days in a row. Luckily they had butter… lots of butter. Synopsis: $ 20 for really good crackers, butter and iced tea.

They are too busy hurrying us out. Saying they don’t have more tortillas. Have gross over cooked veggies and flavorless sangria. Blah

While passing through town from Blanco, we decided to stop in bastrop and get something to eat. Los Cabos Mexican Grill was right off 71 and handy so we stopped there. I am 65 years old and that is the worst food I have eaten in my life. It was sent back to the kitchen after my first bite. I then decided to go to the restroom. Oh my… one of the seats have been torn off the toilet. Looked like somebody had vomited in the sink and there was a brown thick and unidentifiable something or another clinging to the floors and the stalls in the restroom. If this is visible to the public can you imagine what the kitchen looks like? I did take pictures and have reported it to the powers that be. This was on January 31st2016. I have pictures and have turned them over to the bastrop powers to be.

3 visits during a business trip and the staff was wonderful. Of my three meals, two were triples and one a HOMERUN. Blackened Tilapia topped with shrimp and crawfish sauce was excellent. Far superior to what the dogs would imply. If I’m ever back in the area, I’d definitely visit again.

Terrible food, terrible service. My Carne guisada was a piece of steak cut up and drowned in sauce.

Meh … great food, but the service isn’t even mediocre. Too many kids on the payroll who are more interested in playing grab-ass than they are tending to their customers. The older waitstaff and even the bus people seem to have a better grasp on what it really means to be a server than most of those kids in there. I mean, if you’re in the mood for crappy service and good food, by all means … help yourself.

Some girlfriends of mine came into town for the weekend and this was our first stop in Bastrop while the guys were out and about. I would say this is probably some of the best mexican I’ve ever had! two of my friends are a little bit picky when it comes to food and they were both beyond satisfied. We shared a pitcher of the house margaritas between four of us and had their free queso and salsa and put an order of guacamole in. FANTASTIC. We decided to go with their lunch size chipotle steak fajitas. They were huge and amzing! tortilla were hot and freshly made. I would recommend this place to anyone in the Bastrop area looking for a great mexican restaurant.

Man… I don’t know what is wrong with the people who didn’t like this place… new to Bastrop this has been are go to spot at least once a week! Everything I’ve had is delicious! We could start with the complimentary green sauce… yum! Then try some fajita beef queso flamenado… big bowl of melted shredded white cheese with fajita beef… YESPLEASE! I have had the the fajitas with chicken beef and shrimp. delicious…I always get the combo plate that has the taco tostado cheese enchilada guacamole and queso puff… we eat their prime rib and sirloin all the time on the weekends they added a salad bar that comes with and it is amazing… y nephew got the shrimp plate it was good my dad got some other combo plate it was good I took home his left overs… the portions are huge… sopapillas are good and free ice cream woooo hooooo… this is Bastrop Tx not gadalarja… it’s GOOD… as good as it gets in TX!!! Service is always good to and for the lady who was griping about the wait… any time your party has 5 or more people you are going to have to wait for a table to open up… any one who has worked service industry could vouch for that! Especially after church on a Sunday! Cheers

We wandered around and ended up at Los Cabos. Really good chips and salsa, especially the avacado salsa. «HUGE» portions. No way we could even get close to eating it all! The servers never let my soda drop past half full!

Not worth the $ 65 price tag for a family of four To eat. Queso is nasty cheese like product. Fajitas were loaded with onions and just a little meat. The fajitas also has a big clump of rice . Won’t be back any time soon.

My third visit to this location and is by far, the best place in Bastrop for Mexican and steaks… The service is outstanding and the food is always on point – you’ll love the margaritas too!

We used to love this place when it was Nancy’s. We went for a birthday lunch for my son on Sunday. It was absolutely awful. We waited for at least 30 minutes for our food. They did put out a plate of chips. My son says a Mexican restaurant should have good salsa. Theirs tasted like hot(temp) tomato sauce and the queso was watery. My son ordered a Nancy’s burger It came overdone with no lettuce tomato or pickle. Wasn’t good. I ordered the steak salad. The salad was supposed to come with potatoes and blue cheese of which none were found. Basically the 14.00 salad was wilted overdressed greens, tons of red onions and few strips of over cooked steak. What a ripoff!!! My husband tried the enchilada plate. It was tasteless and came with maybe a tablespoon of Pico and guacamole. Service was bad, food was worse! We will NOT be returning

This is a poor example of Mexican and there are better ways to experience Bastrop. My entrée of grilled shrimp consisted of small and overcooked shrimp. There is nothing light or current on the menu; no fish tacos, no ceviche, and the Caesar salad is barely palatable. I noticed the blackened fish a companion ordered was so covered in sauce that I honestly couldn’t see if it was blackened. The waiter was friendly, but I would never return here. Some people want fresh, healthy Mexican food. There IS such a thing.

Went there for dinner Saturday night. Atmosphere is nice, it’s clean, and the service was very good. I had the enchiladas and a taco. Both were good. The salsa is not very spicy but tastes good. I left VERYFULL. menu selection is crazy. Pasta to steaks to seafood to Mexican. Dessert menu looked good as well even though we were to full to have any! Will definitely be back.
