So, when I was a kid… I played the clarinet. Rose worked behind the desk and would always make sure that I bought the best reeds. I loved the Van Dorn reeds, and as I got older… I bought harder reeds for better sound quality. Fast forward 20 years. My nephew now plays the clarinet. I walked into Roxy’s when I was back home visiting this weekend. Guess what? Rose still works behind the desk. And she remembered me, having not seen me for all those years. I told her my little nephew was in 4th grade… and she had just the thing for him. I bought three reeds, and the total was 4.00. That is kind of hilarious… some things never change. The store is more than clarinet reeds. Its everything you can imagine that’s related to music-drums, guitars, violins, amps, key boards. The service is great, and its a staple of Batavia. Roxy’s also rents instruments, so if you’ve got a new aspiring instrumentalist in your home, head to Roxy’s.
