As much as I wanted to like That Taco Place, I just couldn’t. Granted I’m from the land of Tex-Mex dreams in Texas, I was hopeful that there’d be a glimpse of goodness in upstate NY, especially given the fact that the owner is from LA. Taco meat was all ground meat, very little seasoning(at least they have hot sauce to douse it with), way too much lettuce, and one thick slice of tomato(?!) on top. Oh also, unmelted cheese. The tortillas were thin and dry. Not much taste to them either. Overall, if you really really want a tex-mex fix and you have no other place to go, I say order their loaded nachos or a quesadilla(small tortillas grilled together with beans, onions, and a few tomatoes…). I give them props for their indoor décor, though?

We have frequented this little gem for 25+ years. No, not authentic Mexican. There are places that serve that. This is the food you want to have while you’re sitting around with old friends, watching a Friday night movie and joking about the crazy things you did as a teenager. I love the large beef taco, layer dip, and at lunch time, a taco salad. My son gets the bean burrito, and my husband the deluxe burrito. Hot sauce is Frank’s Red Hot. The menu is simple, the food tasty and consistent. Small eat-in area, couple of outdoor picnic tables. We always use the drive-thru and eat at home.

Their burritos are not even burritos, they are sort of a wrap and entirely too small to be called a burrito . I also had chicken tacos that were served on a cold tortilla with uninspiring vegetables and underseasoned meat. All cold and almost tasteless.

Our family has been frequenting That Taco Place for the past 35 years. Our son worked at That Taco Place for six years. The restaurant is clean. Joe Spataro uses the best cuts of meat, vegetables and ingredients. The dishes are consistently delicious! The staff is friendly and accommodate your needs. We recommend That Taco Place for quick, delicious, reasonable meals, take-out, catering and parties!

My boyfriend introduced me to this place and that’s when I realized I truly loved him. Really. He gets me. If you ever want a taco that is just straight up, nothing fancy, just the good stuff — this is the place to go. They don’t mess around with crazy sauces or making it ‘Mexican American fusion ’ blah blah blah, they just give you want you want. I delicious, satisfying, makes your mouth water, taco experience. Let me suggest getting their hot sauce on the side with a chicken and bean burrito. The beef is just as good. Do yourself a favor and get some jalapeño poppers to top it off. You can thank me later.

Cash only. I want to love you, That Taco Place! Local, drive up or walk in taco place, what could be better? Chicken taco meat was«of odd texture,» as if it had been ground first and then been around in the warmer for a while. Bean taco was acceptable. tortilla was meh, why not warm it up a little or stick it on the grill? Staff was friendly and cute.

I hate to give a place a bad review but I have to. I’m Latin and have tried different latin cuisine specifically Mexican so it’s disappointing to try tacos and say to yourself, what is this? The chicken soft taco made me want to run to Taco Bell that happens to be a few blocks away from here. The people preparing the tacos appeared to be caucasian and I’m not saying you can’t have a caucasian who can make great tacos but I’d be lying if I didn’t say that this made me raise an eyebrow when I initially walked in. I was a bit skeptical at that point. Maybe it’s me but when I walk into a taco place(other then Taco Bell or a chain restaurant). I like to see the ethnic group that is known for their food working there. The place itself looks like a small hole in the wall and the people working there were friendly so that was nice. But this is a review based on food. Oh and the guacamole was not great! Sorry but I have to be truthful because I owe it to those craving a taco to know it’s just not that great!

This place is pretty damn good. The tacos are very natural tasting and wholesome. The poppers are also a must! So if your looking for something a little different that mighty taco or taco bell this place won’t dissapoint.

I’ve been here before but that was a few years ago. Everything tastes the same from the last time but prices seem to be excessive. We bought 3 burritos, 1 nacho, and 2 drinks that cost us $ 20. I’m a good eater, but 1 burrito and sharing a small order nachos did not fill me up. The food is good but I don’t think it is worth the cost.

A long time favorite. They have a simple menu with fresh ingredients and for the vegetarians, their beans are fantastic! They make their own corn taco shells, which are perfectly chewy and delicious. I also love the jalepeño poppers with pepper jelly and fresh gaucamole.

Food was good but over priced for what so special about faux Americanized burritos? Tall skinny old dude who needs practice service with a smile and a more pleasant attitude or try some need mood adjustments.

Let me start off by saying that I am a mighty taco fan and that geography gets in the way of my ability to patronize them that often. So today I was driving through the bustling metropolis that is Batavia(sarcasm) running errands and suddenly a strong desire for tacos came over me. Now being an hour from the closest Mighty Taco, my options were Taco Bell(barf) and That Taco Place. I decided to give That Taco Place a try. I ordered two hard shell tacos and a chicken fajita, which came to ten dollars and change. Personally, I found the price to be a bit pricey considering the portion size and quality of the food. I tried one of the tacos first. My immediate thought was how stale the shell itself was. Also, the fact that they place way more lettuce than anything else in the taco, and use whole slices of tomato were negatives. The beef itself had little flavor. I think though, the biggest issue was the shell which was distracting me from any saving graces this taco had. I can say though that they put a decent amount of sour cream on them. The Chicken fajita was better, but not great. The quacamole was decent, and the peppers and onions were cooked well, but the shell was dry and bordering stale and the chicken was in such huge chunks that you either got all or nothing. I can definitely say that I would choose this place over taco bell anytime, but I can’t say for sure that I would return. If anything it reminded me of what I am missing from mighty taco or how I could easily make something better at home.
