Went there last night. Food was very good as was the service. Will definitely be back.

Stopped in and had dinner at the bar. Very attentive bartender, and well made drinks. My wife and I ordered the smoked meat platters and enjoyed the St. Louis ribs, pulled chicken, brat, and smoked wings. Everything was delicious. We ordered the corn bread and enjoyed the sweet and savory twist with the peppers.

Great food and fun casual ambiance. Had the burnt ends(tender without an excessive amount of fat you often get on brisket, great sauce) and pulled pork sandwich(piled with a generous amount of super tender pork and served on a potato roll) and they were both fantastic. I’ve had bbq all over the country and I’m very pleasantly surprised to find such a great bbq place in my home town. They also have a decent selection of wine and beer with a house beer brewed for them by Victory Brewing which is a light bodied lager similar to a Rolling Rock.

Wait to be seated wasn’t very long on a Wednesday night but the wait to get a drink, order our appetizer and get our meal was extremely long and it didn’t even seem to be very busy. We enjoyed ourselves until our meals came out… the bun on the burger and the bread on my sandwich were so well done and crispy that we couldn’t even eat them. We weren’t really impressed but may try a second time.

This place is awesome. Friendly service and AMAZING smokehouse bbq. I had the combo with ribs, brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and baked beans. Everything was perfect. The smoked wings were great and everyone in my party enjoyed everything they got(brats, cheese andouille sausage, buffalo fingers). Their homemade condiments are great too, the tomato vinegar was awesome with the ribs and the mustard vinegar was the best mustard I’ve ever had. Decent beer list and full bar. Will definitely be back.

Went with my parents on a Wednesday night. Service was top notch, food came quickly and was 5star. I ordered BBQ pulled pork. I highly recommend. As someone who has had the real deal in the south and loves BBQ anywhere she goes, I love their BBQ. Can’t wait to back and get another helping and some more BBQ beans! You won’t regret it, unless you wish you had more room in your stomach– order some to go because the pulled pork leftovers made a DELICIOUS lunch the next day.

Best Ribs EVER! I lived in NC for many years and never had Ribs as good! The tomato based vinegar sauce is amazing… I wish they would sell it! Mac and Cheese side is always great too. Wait can be very long on the weekend but well worth it! Never had a bad meal here, it’s our favorite dining spot around.

First time there with my wife. I had the pumpernickel bread with sauerkraut appetizer. It was great. My wife had French Onion soup. I then had the brats with warm potato salad. The brats were good and they brought out their own sauces which were pretty good. The potato salad wasn’t like what you get in Germany, but wasn’t bad. I had cole slaw as a side as well too but I think it was store-bought. My wife had scallops and she said they were perfect. Chocolate fudge cake for dessert. I don’t think it was homemade but it was fine. We’ll be back, I want to try the pulled pork options. The place was quite busy on a Friday night. We had reservations, arrived early, sat at bar but were still seated within 10 minutes, despite being early. The waitress was great, service was quick and everything was cooked well.

I wanted to give this more stars. I really really did. But this place just didn’t do it for me. Last night we had a party of 6 at 5:30, we made reservations far in advance and were seated promptly. Our waitress was nice, but it took 30 minutes for our drinks to come out! The salads were delivered before we got our wine & beers. We were all sitting there wondering what was going on, and the waitress kept apologizing saying that she would make the drinks if she could. There is nothing to «make». I worked in the restaurant business, it paid for all my college textbooks. I met my ex husband bartending. I know how its done. It doesn’t take that long to pour wine, and draft out 3 beers. So that right off the bat, left a bad taste in my mouth… Then I got my appetizers. I ordered the pierogies with sauteed onions & bacon. My pierogies were slightly burnt. But the bacon… that was black, burnt & crispy. Bacon shouldn’t be burnt. Everything tasted burnt. I ate the pierogies, but not the garnish. My entrée was the shredded chicken burrito with baked mac & cheese as my side. The mac and cheese was delicious as was the burrito. I had leftovers, so we took a small box home. I didn’t order a dessert because I was still put off with my appetizer and how long everything took. Also, our waitress never described the BBQ sauces, so we had to guess what everything was. Was the place busy, a little. The bartenders should have had one more on bar, as a bar back, to keep up with things, or as the dining room bartender. The waitress should have been a bit more attentive. I feel she could have tried to «upsell» the specials as well, she just placed the cards on the table. Would I give this restaurant another visit. Maybe, only if someone else was paying. Its a shame, the restaurant was stunning, loved the floors and the sliding barn door inside.

My husband and I dined here for the first time with some friends. It is best if you call ahead so that you can be seated promptly. I shared smoked hot wings with my husband which we both feel may be the best wings we have ever had!!! The house salad was large with nice quality lettuce, no iceberg here. We also both had the ribs, yummy. Mine were a little fatty, but my husbands were not. My husband had the pick 2 platter for with pulled pork and ribs. Such a great meal. Good coleslaw too. They also have a great beer selection which is goes perfect with the smoked meats. Only wish I had saved room for dessert. Can’t wait to go back again.

Upon walking in it has the«old» feel but not the«dive» feel, they have done a great job with the restoration. But, atmosphere is only one key, service and the food has to be there for me to come back for another visit! They were very busy and asked if we had called ahead, we had not and they said it would be about 30 minutes — it was around 6:30PM and it seems everyone came in about the same time as all the tables really only had drinks on them. My wife and I had our two daughters with us, age 8&9, and they were pretty hungry. They were very nice to us and could tell the kids were hungry and tried to get us a table as soon as they could. We ended up at a high top in the bar area as the kids couldn’t hold out for a dining area table. I was amazed at the steady stream of people coming in and the place was really packed — call ahead but check out their rules for holding a table so there is no confusion. On to the service — our waitress was very attentive when she had time. As mentioned it seemed everyone came in at the same time and I could tell they were overloaded. The service was a bit slow, but we didn’t mind as we were not in a hurry — and the wait staff was not just«standing around» which sometimes happens with slow service, they were rushing and working hard, and as mentioned very good when they were with us. On to the third element important to me, the food. I was told they had some great«smoked» items so I went right to the top of my list to test a «smokehouse» place out — the baby back ribs… at all places advertised as fall off the bone but few ever meet that description. My daughter(8) is also a rib eater so she joined me in the trial. They were«fall off the bone» as advertised, very, very tasty — I have found my new rib place in the area — my daughter agreed and ripped through them so fast it even surprised me! My wife and other daughter had the quarter chicken and the chicken tenders — both had empty plates and were happy with their meals. Over all a pretty good experience for a first visit — we will definitely be back and make it even better by calling ahead to have a table in the dining area.

We know the family so are wishing them well in this new venture. It’s new so expect some jitters but otherwise go for the smoked pork, ribs and chicken. Friday was packed since this place is all by it’s lonesome north of Bath. The place has had extensive renovations and it looks fresh and clean, with a nod to its historic roots.

I finally got here! Hands down, one of the best hidden gems in our neck of the woods. It’s a completely restored colonial-era tavernhaus. The night began with a huge cheesesteak nacho platter. It had quality shaved ribeye steak, melted American cheese, a chunky marinara sauce and garnished with jarred banana peppers. Overall, they were pretty good. I ordered the pick 2 platter, with the pulled pork and the double smoked bratwurst with baked Mac and cheese and cole slaw. The Meat was smoked to perfection. Their own BBQ sauce and mustard sauces were very good. The Mac and cheese was made like a baked casserole with cheddar and American cheeses topped with breadcrumbs. The house made slaw was excellent. Service was good, beer selection is great and they have Appalation Brewing’s white Birch Beer. Pricing is in line with or lower than any chain sit-down joint. It’s definitely worth the trip.

I went here with a friend last night and it was very quiet. The waitstaff couldn’t have been more courteous and they were attentive without hovering or being annoying. From what I gathered, this place is new. Unilocalers, when you go somewhere that just opened up, you must expect that they are still working the kinks out of the system. I suggest you give it another try, along with the French onion soup and crab cakes.
