It’s just okay. It’s also a little overpriced for the portion sizes and lunch portions, but maybe that’s because of its downtown location. I’m pretty neutral about this place. I don’t have anything bad to say about it, but the same goes for the good. I’ve been here to dine in and I’ve ordered carry-out. I’m not sure when I’ll be back after the to go order.

Delicious Mexican food! Will not be disappointed. Bartender Jane makes great margarita drinks. Go to the bar and she’ll take care of you! The sampler appetizer and fajita Caesar salad is very delicious! A must try!

This place was across the street from my hotel so I decided to give it a try. The salsa was fresh made, very good. The service was great too. The Grande burrito is exactly that. GRANDE! It covered the entire plate and tasted great! Definitely put this one on your list.

I went here for lunch today 10÷03÷15 and it was my first visit here. Upon entering it was pretty dead for a Saturday lunch and very quiet. The hostess was nice. Our server was very quiet and didn’t seem to understand us very well. But he was nice. We got queso with and without ground beef and it was mediocre and a little runny. My niece got the kids cheese quesadilla and I got ground beef tacos both were edible but a little bland to me. All in all it was a decent lunch but nothing special about it that would make me want to go back. As always though I enjoy trying new places so I don’t regret going.

I’m not sure how this place has such good reviews. The cheese in my enchalada wasn’t even melted; my tortillas were small, flavorless, and smothered in Ragu-level Alfredo sauce; my beans tasted like they were reheated canned product; and my entire plate was lukewarm. Despite moving from the Southwest, I can pretty easily forgive bad Mexican food in the presence of a good margarita, but sadly, my margarita was so laden with sour mix as to detect no tequila – and I don’t even *like* a lot of tequila in my margaritas. The end result: I paid $ 20 for two cups of sour mix and uncooked cheese. Some locals who have been here longer than I have since warned me about this place, and I echo their sentiment – it’s not worth your money.

Quick serivce, good margaritas, frresh salsa but bland entrees however they did come out fast but that could be due to the lack of wffort. I had a taco salad and it was bagged lettus with a few chicken bits olives and cheese… not impressive. Now we are just waiting for the server to being checks.

Quick and easy downtown Mexican food. Love the picked jalapeños. Service and dining experience are pretty good for a downtown eatery.

I ordered the steak fajita chimichanga and I must say it was pretty good and a decent size but if I had to comment on something it would be the rice and beans which are both served with it. The rice was a little dry and underseasoned, if seasoned at all and the same goes toward the beans since they weren’t very pleasant. The salsa was OK, sweet and a tad spicy no complaints really on that but I do wish they would season their chips seeing how they were plain.

I have eaten here a few times because it is conveniently located next to my hotel and they deliver room service. My favorite dish to date is the tortilla soup– this soup and the $ 1 margarita happy hour makes it worth the trip. Side note– the steak quesadillas were nothing to write home about.

House margarita was not very good. But top shelf was awesome. Seared tuna tacos were to die for. Wife chicken enchiladas and loved them the chicken was very tender and well seasoned. Guacamole was very fresh but not well seasoned, It was very good with the tacos. I would definitely recommend.

For being a restaurant that bases its food on a hot climate, this place sure is cold! Freezing even(heaven’s to Murgatroid). Rob always gets the burger and loves it. Robby always gets the steak soft tacos and loves it. I try to mix it up. Last time was the chimichanga with the cheese sauce on the side. Pretty good. I like that they actually put a little ranchero sauce or something inside with the chicken, instead of just plain ‘ol chicken and nothing else(I’m looking at you La Carreta). The salsa tastes a little like spaghetti.

I read an article about it in The Advocate so I decided to go down there and give it a shot. I never go eat downtown! It’s located in the old Little Village restaurant. We went on a Saturday for an early lunch and there was nobody there. And only one other table showed up and we were there for two hours. We started off with some fried jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese. They were good but didn’t sit well in my stomach. The complimentary salsa was good and had a lot of spice to it. I ordered the chicken nachos appetizer. Half of my food was burned and the other half had no flavor whatsoever. My sister ordered the Relleno de Res and she loved it. I brought some home to my husband and he enjoyed it as well. My mom got the chicken fajitas. She said they were good but a little spicy. Not good enough for her to seek out again. I might try to go again at nighttime and hope for a better crowd and maybe have a margarita.

Strong margaritas and average Mexican food — kind of sums up my read on this place. The chips and salsa are great, the Guac not so much. If I had to recommend entrees, I would probably end up picking either the fajitas or the blackened fish tacos, both are pretty decent. I think the taco salad is a waste of money and any drink other than their margaritas are useless lol

Azteca’s is the place for Mexican food downtown. Located at the corner of Lafayette and Main, it is convenient for anyone in the downtown area. It has a classy contemporary décor, located in a historic building. The dishes are fresh, served attractively, and are priced decently considering the location. There have been some recent menu changes, and they seem to be for the better! The fish tacos are now blackened, and come with Mexican coleslaw and avocado slices on them. The salsa is also chunkier and spicier. They have really good burgers too, for those that don’t feel like traditional Mexican fare. A new introduction to the menu is a grilled chicken burger. Azteca’s is definitely a good choice, especially for lunch. Check it out if you are in the downtown area!

Due to multiple great reviews about the chimichangas, I ordered the chicken fajita chimichanga. So delicious! I had to refrain from eating it all(they’re large)! They also make a great painkiller(alcoholic beverage).

Given the limited options in the immediate area, I feel compelled to regard Aztecas as a solid choice. I came with a friend, and we both had the garlic shrimp. I drank a couple of beers(bottled, Mexican, decent, middle-of-the-road) with dinner; my friend knocked back two margaritas. Before the main dishes came out, we were served a basket of chips(some of them colored for extra excitement) and a large quantity of industrial salsa. Everything was A-OK, especially with the alcohol. My meal earned me valuable MileagePlus Dining points. Restaurants that sign up for this program tend not to be fully booked, all the time. Just sayin’.

Amazing chimichanga! I ordered the steak fajita chimi which comes smothered in chili with rice and beens as the side. The rice was ok. The beens were great and the chimi was fantastic. The restaurant atmosphere was pretty modern and not traditionally Mexican. I was there on a Tuesday evening around 5:30pm. There was one other customer at the bar and maybe a couple of occupied tables. The bartender was friendly and offered a good beer recommendation when asked. Definitely a place to visit again.

Seems like a very small place to eat… the chips aren’t very flavorful. I’m the only person in the restaurant at 4:00 pm on a Thursday afternoon which may say something about the place. Hope my appetizer and entrée are decent. Well my steak tacos was pretty good. This place is a so-so Mexican that doesn’t even play Mexican music!
