Fantastic fingerling beignets, café au lait, and biscuit with sausage. Great place! Ken from Houston, TX

Beignets and coffee — no better place to go. There are several groups of buddies(male female and mixed) that meet there every day and they must like it. The general food menu, I’m sorry to say is a little lacking. I was hoping that a famous south Louisiana entity like Coffee Call would have good gumbo but it was thin. The poboys were bland. Oh by the way, they assume that you know what to do because there are so many regular there. They didn’t tell us that we had to go to another spot in the restaurant to pick up if you aren’t getting beignets or coffee. So we waited and waited and finally after 45 minutes we asked about it. The first response was«No, we don’t have that order.» We later found out that they pitched it because no one picked it up. Never mind that no one called our name or ticket number or made any attempt to get the food to us. So basically we had to start over. If it weren’t for the fact that we had been invited by others, we would have left. By the way, no apology, no offer of any concession or accommodation, etc. They just said, «we have so many regulars that know what to do.» If you order lunch there be sure to go to the opening in the wall around the corner about the time you think your order is ready. The place where you pick up and pay for beignets and coffee(the other side of the restaurant) is not where you pickup lunch orders. Wouldn’t it have been great to have told us that at the time we placed the order? Or, perhaps a sign that says«Pickup Food Orders Here.»

Great beignets ! When you can’t get to NOLA this is the place to hit up ! Came here today with my mom who is visiting from California. Café Au Lait was great and I added a little hot chocolate, per someone else’s review. It was a little dirty on the floor but with powdered what can you expect lol. We enjoyed ourselves and the beignets were piping hot fresh out of the fryer. I will be back, who can beat $ 4.oo for a large fingers order we couldn’t finish lol.

A must when coming to baton rouge. The beignets are always fresh and never hard or soggy. Perfect medium over at Coffee Call.

When visiting New Orleans, you CANNOT leave without having Beignets. So, of course, I made my way to Café du Monde. But my local family members said, «Those aren’t the best beignets, the best are in Baton Rouge!» BOYWERETHEYRIGHT!!! These beignets are amazing and HUGE!!! Love Love Love!!!

We got beignet fingers and regular beignets. They were warm and tasty, but boy were they greasy!!! Wet, dripping oil greasy. The hot chocolate was okay, but it was more milk than chocolate and probably powder mix. Not impressive.

I have been waiting for café au lait and beignets for some time. I could have stayed here all day. Staff was incredible and the customers were super friendly. I found them on Unilocal and I was so thrilled we stopped in!

Can’t argue with this place. Service is very friendly and the beignets are miles ahead of Café Dumond. A local favorite that cannot be missed. You won’t leave hungry.

My first visit to this restaurant. I was told that this was the place for beignets, and that we had to try it. Boy were they right, on a Saturday morning this place was rocking. there were plenty of regulars, and plenty of new people like us. They moved very quickly the beignets were made fresh to order. The coffee and coffee au lait were great. They put plenty of powdered sugar, and had shakers on the table if you needed it. Fun place with a fast moving crew.

This is probably one of the best places for beignets in Baton Rouge. Along with a cup of hot café au lait, it is just heavenly. They also offer one free refill on coffee, which is great if you are there for a longer time, working on your own or chatting with friends!

So so good!!! Mix your coffee and hot chocolate together and it’s amazing. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because the ambiance isn’t great. It’s in an old strip mall and not the cleanest inside. The beignets are fabulous though. They also have beignet strips(kinda like french toast strips) which I had never heard of. The staff is very kind and welcoming. I will be back next time I make it down to BR! Yum!!!

Coffee Call has been one of my BR go-to spots for many years now. Don’t go for a posh, upscale place to gather. Don’t go for a whole lot of variety of items in the menu. Do however go for great coffee and beignets. Go for the people! This is a wonderful little homey coffee shop that’s been around for like forever. I love coming here late nights on the weekends for nighttime coffee and conversation. This place is melting pot of eclectic people that gather here for social time. I live the vibes here and I will always come back.

I loved this place. Definitely try the coffee and I love the fingers. It’s a great price and there’s plenty of seating indoor and out. They are so quick and they even have a drive thru.

One of our favorite hangouts with delicious beignets and café au’lait. Sad to say but it’s one of a handful of places to go after 10:00pm that’s not a bar. I had great memories coming here as a kid(just not in this location) so I made sure to pass the tradition along with my children and they still enjoy coming here talking the night away. The servers are always pleasant and several know us by name. It stays pretty busy on the weekends but the lines move quickly and worth the wait.

I really wanted to like this place based upon reviews. We usually get beignets every time we leave New Orleans, but this time we forgot. So, while passing through Baton Rouge we decided to try this place out. The lady at the register seemed a little annoyed with us for no reason. She said the beignets would be ready shortly. While waiting, a large group of people came in. Perhaps we aren’t pushy enough, but they stood around and got their beignets while crowding customers who were making their orders. After waiting for a while and finding short black hairs in my coffee(whatever, things happen, I guess), we decided we would just leave. We didn’t even bother asking for a refund. If there’s a wait for beignets, I think the establishment should give you a number or something. That way they can be picked up easily and without crowding. Some positives: 1.) Very clean. 2.) The man cleaning up tables was very nice. 3.) Décor is nice. Definitely reminiscent of Morning Call in City Park.

The beignets are amazing!!! Beignet fingers are a personal favorite. 1 small order is great to share between 3 people(2 if you’re hungry) I won’t say more because you should just try it yourself. Don’t leave Baton Rouge without trying the beignets here! I’ve been a few times, but found out about the lunch yesterday. The salad bar is basic and fresh. Soups were good, there’s 4 offered every day. I hear the shrimp asparagus is very rich, the chili was hearty with a small kick, garden vegetable unmemoreable. You can get an all you can eat salad or soup for 7, both for 9.

Funny is my association with Coffee Call. When i first went into coffee call, one of my friends told me that I had unlimited refills of hot chocolate. I used to refill my hot chocolate a second time always. Later, as I enquired about this, they told that only coffee and Café au last had a second serving but not the other ones.(Lol) But they have always been warm and the people there are always nice. The coffee is okayish but at 2 am only coffee call and a few others are open to enjoy and have a decent coffee. They also have good Beignet’s and Beignet fingers. A small plate of Beignet fingers would be good for snacking and having a good conversation. I think they also have lunch but have never been at lunch time. It is one of the reasonable places I go sometimes and I hope you also have interesting associations with this neighborhood place.

The smell of hot beignets and fresh coffee greet you as you make your way to the back counter to place your order. Along the way you pass all types of people«passing a good time», sipping coffee and munching puffy bits of fried dough goodness. Customers tend to linger long after they finish their food and engage in old fashioned face to face conversation. At peak hours you might struggle to find a seat and wait in a long line, or you can zip through the drive thru. They open at 6 am and stay open 24 hours on weekends so whatever your schedule you can squeeze a visit in. I recommend you grab a friend, settle in and indulge in fried treats and good conversation as often as possible.

Not without my beignets!!! Coffee Call serves up two of America’s favorite vices: caffeine and fried food. I could not leave town before I hit their drive thru for beignet fingers and an iced café au lait. The small order of fingers was just $ 2.50 but there was enough fried goodness in the bag for two people. That said, with all the finger licking that happens as you eat beignets it’s probably best for everyone to have their own separate bag. The lady at the window gave me an inch-thick stack of napkins. They were more than enough to spread and use a placemat but the powdered sugar still snowed onto my clothes. Somehow I was too busy enjoying the beignets to care. I would highly recommend Coffee Call to anyone traveling down I-10 between 6am and 2am. It’s right off the highway and on the weekends they’re open 24 hours!

Ok let’s change it up a little when writing a review for coffee call. Of course their biegnets and a biegnet fingers is a must. However let’s change the pace and talk about lunch. They serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Its very simple and to the point. They serve sandwiches, salad bar, and a soup bar. You can get a combo of sandwich and salad bar or sandwich and soup or just one or the other. On this occasion, I had the dressed french dip and salad bar. The sandwich itself would have been enough. It was very delicious and filling. I think the meat lacked a little salt but everything was all good once bathed in the glorious au jus. The salad bar was standard but it had some amazing potato salad and tuna pasta. Next time I will definitely get the soup bar. They have five different soups to pick from or you can eat all of them, remember it’s a soup bar which means, all you can eat. However with getting the sandwich and soup there may be one or two trips to soup or three trips absolute tops. My advise, come for breakfast and stay for lunch. That way you won’t miss out on any of it.
