I was pretty disappointed with jumbo butterfly shrimp platter. Shrimp were not close to being jumbo, unless you consider 21 counts jumbo and I was not to impressed with the taste of the shrimp(for the price I’ve had better). Onion string fries were not crunchy and French fries had a bad taste. Bottom line, I won’t order this dish again. UPDATE Came back here to Copelands thirty days later and boo yah it was way better. I ordered the Blackened Bayou Chicken and let me tell you I’ve never tasted anything as curiously good. There was this mushroom stuffing making a tasteful bed for the blackened chicken and crayfish sleeping a top with Copelands on special sauce. Bartender was some dude named Austin and he sucked, just kidding he did a great Job. Sooo bottom line. «I shall return».

The food and service here is great! Austin and Lauren got our food to us quickly and were super sweet! I highly recommend the Filet Mignon.

Stopped here for lunch on Thursday around noon. Hostess immediately seated and our waiter Demarcus W. came with menus and requested our drink order. He was informative about the menu and gave us time to decide after serving our drink order. Demarcus was on the spot for taking our orders. I had shrimp and crab remoulade salad, while my wife ordered crabcakes and shrimp with zucchini. Both dishes were delicious.

Very plain boring food that your paying way too much for. Will not be going back here. The atmosphere was a little off too, the chandelier was so bright over our table.

Copeland’s is one of my in-laws favorites. They took our nyc daughter last month and she was impressed, especially with the crab cake beniet. Sorry no french spell check. Tonight we had wonderful food and an awesome waiter, Ryan. Thanks for a memorable evening.

I’m very disappointed because I had never been to Copeland’s and it was less than I expected. My boyfriend brought me here for Valentine’s Day, we had the seafood gumbo and Mac and cheese bites, we didn’t bother getting any meals because our food was cold when it arrived. I also had to ask for a water several times. I won’t be going back. Menu was pretty expensive if I recall correctly.

The Crab cake and Shrimp Alfredo was very delicious! The Category 5 was awesome. I’ve only had the smaller size, but the larger size is about $ 12-$ 14 still not bad

Love Copeland’s! The food and service are excellent! We had a reservation but when we got here they had to setup and we had to wait 15 minutes. Our waitress made up for it!

The only reason I gave this place 1 star is because zero was not an option. From the management to the wait staff to the host staff and the kitchen, this place is a horrible disaster. I’m pretty sure Al Copeland is rolling in his grave at this point. At first it seemed we would have a pretty decent experience, as soon as we sat down our server took our drink order. We got them about 10 minutes later. We then ordered our appetizers, buffalo spring rolls and Spinach and Artichoke dip. 30 minutes later we got them and they were ok. Then we ordered. From there it all went downhill. About 40 minutes later the food started to come out. It was all around awful. No one in our party got drink refills. 2 hostesses had an angry exchange with the manager in the middle of the floor. Pretty much every table around us complained and every single time the manager left the table he rolled his eyes and looked far too bothered to do his job, which is to make the guest happy. Then we got our checks. 3 times. The first 2 times they were wrong and the third time the server decided to add an 18% gratuity to the bill when he realized we were not happy. What a joke. I understand that the kitchen cooks the food. But when you can’t even refill drinks or throw the kitchen under the bus because you don’t know the menu, then you need some more training at the very least, then we can discuss a tip that you don’t deserve. Finally the manager came to the table. After hearing us out he looked at my wife and literally said«so… I don’t know what you want me to do about it». I will leave you with that.

I was curious as to why their score was so low, and why there weren’t any recent pictures of menu items. Now I know. The food sounds delicious on the menu, but after getting an appetizer, main entrée, and a dessert to go: I was disappointed multiple times after I got home. The appetizer was partially burnt, my ribs and red beans were cold — which means either they weren’t reheated enough or they had been sitting out awhile. Even the cheesecake tasted like it hit its expiration. Do yourself a favor, and spend your money elsewhere.

This review is based on multiple take out orders, without dining in! I judge every Copeland’s by their Bayou Broccoli. Slidell is still the best, but this is a close second and beats out all of the Copeland’s that are actually in New Orleans! I wish this location offered Carside To Go because it’s more convenient to sit in my car in my PJs than to have to wander into a nice restaurant and wait in line for my food, but whatever. I have a somewhat complicated order that involves adding and removing multiple ingredients from the penthouse salad and removing onions from anything my boyfriend orders. They’ve gotten it right every time!

I like Copelands a lot and think for the price it provides large portions. Some of their more popular entrees is the onion mum – knock of outbacks onion blossom — and more do the spinach artichoke dip with fried pasta. Last night they had a new appetizer — onion petals — which are onion rings served the size of petals — but the portion is smaller than the mom so a table of 3 can finish this. Last night Copelands also had new selections which shows their continuing effort to change with the times. We ordered old reliables such as the shrimp bisque, chicken parmigiana and eggplant pirogue. The Copelands brand provides great and unique taste which brings me back for me. Also with the entrees are the famous biscuits which might be too flourery for some but just right to me. We did not get dessert last night but experiences in the past have left me more than satisfied

Had lunch here on my visit to Baton Rouge and very unpleased. The service was great and the restaurant itself is nice, but the food was terrible. Very upsetting because a lot of people at my hotel recommended this restaurant. I ordered the catfish fish lunch special and there was nothing special about it believe me. To me Copelan’s is an upscale Denny’s!

Service was not GREAT the guy seemed distracted and could not explain to us the menu being this was our first time visiting. Plus we heard cursing in the background from our server talking to other workers in the kitchen area.

My girlfriends have always said how good Copelands is. I just didn’t realize HOWGOOD this place actually is. Oh my gawd. After a doctors appointment with my mom, we both decided we needed a treat. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed and seated. I love the atmosphere of this place. I ordered the Cobb Salad and OMG it was soo delicious. I definitely recommend it and it’s only 530 calories, so that was a win win. We decided to order the vanilla and hot Brownie dessert… PEOPLE, it was probably the BEST I have ever had. I will definitely be returning. I am very satisfied with this place. I wish I could give it 100 + stars.

Holy biscuits — - they are so great. Wish I had the recipe to be honest. So fluffy & buttery. I want to try the brunch for sure. Anyways our server was tentative & drinks were good. I got alls fav filet cooked medium rare. Was super good! Also got a baked potato which was decent. The mashed potatoes are the best tho. Over all I was impressed. The only complaint I have is they don’t take reservations & they ran out of parking so we had to park at the bank next door.
