Don’t let appearances fool you. This place doesn’t look like much from the outside but the food is fantastic. The best Indian cuisine we’ve had since moving to Baton Rouge. The buffet is reasonably priced and offers a wide variety of dishes. Also, the sesame naan is amazing. We will definitely be back!

This is literally the best India food in Baton Rouge! Take it from me I’ve tried them all! Nothing comes close. Small very fresh buffet that comes with all you can eat fresh made naan(3different kinds!) and dessert! Or you can order off the menu! Everything I’ve tried and I’ve tried ALOT is all very delicious! Go there immediately!!!

Best Indian food in Baton Rouge. Mr. Khan and his staff are an absolute pleasure to do business with. I unfortunately don’t live in the Baton Rouge area any longer but my wife and I make sure to visit this place every chance we get when we return to the area. Buffet is always filled with fresh and delicious options and the fresh baked naan(specifically the garlic naan) is amazing. My wife also loves the rice pudding dessert. I always ask what kind of homemade ice cream is available. Love the pistachio ice cream as well as the peppermint. Please give this place a try!

Delicious food! One of the best! Too bad is too far from Houston but definitely coming back! Their naan is the best too! It’s a must try restaurant.

I am updating my review to addmy recent lunch experience. Up until now I have only ever gotten their biryani to go and loved it. So today I decided I would give their lunch a try. We got there before 12 and the place was empty but the food was freshly set onto the buffet. It is a smaller buffet, but they had 2 chicken options, 2 fish options, 1 goat option in terms of meat. They had the saag paneer, veggie pakora, cabbage curry, and a potato dish as their vegetarian items. Aside from that there was also tomato soup, and a dessert. The moment you get in the waitress will ask you what kind of naan they can start for you, and i have to agree with fellow reviewers, their garlic naan is pretty great. All the food was solid, good flavoring and fresh. They don’t have very big portions on the buffet but I suspect that is to reduce waste and to keep the items freshly refilled. I think they can improve on their ambiance, the place is a bit stuffy and a tad bit warm. I was surprised it costs extra for mint chutney, seems like it should just be included. It may not be my favorite indian place in town but it is definitely a solid optionZ

Such a lovely little place — one of Baton Rouge’s best kept secrets! Delicious fresh Indian food in a warm, inviting atmosphere. The staff is friendly and the food is divine. Totally recommend!

I found this place on a whim while searching Unilocal to satisfy my cravings… but this is by far some of the best food I’ve had. Everything was freshly prepared and the owner prided himself on that. The buffet had a good amount of options for a reasonable price. Will definitely be coming back for seconds when I get a chance! This is definitely a place that should be visited.

There weren’t enough stars to give this place. Great atmosphere, service, deals and of course food! The price for the buffet is reasonable and all of the food is made fresh to order. The owner(I assume) is super nice and it’s a very hole in the wall mom and pop style place and he prides himself on that. Highly recommend!

Not a fan of the food. Owner is a nice guy, but then again, I didn’t go there to make a friend. Seems like most of the reviews are from non desi people who don’t know any better. Won’t be coming back, ever.

The proprietor was incredibly welcoming and made a point of letting us know the food is prepared on site from scratch. In the course of picking up a take out order, he managed to sell us on a mango Lassi(yogurt also made in house) and a cup of soup. Everything was incredible, especially my favorite dish — paneer makhni

I am a huge fan of trying exotic foods and new flavors. This place did more than exceed my expectations! Wonderfully friendly and accommodating staff, fresh food on the buffet, and so many different foods to try! Much more personable service than you normally see at a buffet. When I went to pay my bill, my waiter offered dessert. Another waiter came by, offered a to-go menu, said that people can TEXT to-go orders, and that you can even get the buffet to-go! How great is that?!? I will definitely be back !

We walked in on a weeknight around 8 pm, and they were closing in half an hour due to a ‘slow night’ and said they were not going to refill the buffet items. Seeing that we were probably the last customers of the night, we decided to go for the buffet(even though they nicely offered us to get anything off the menu). Eventually we got to taste every item and I can definitely say the food was good! I particularly liked that they serve the naan fresh made for each person getting the buffet– that way it stays hot and reduces wastage. Tip: Do call them before showing up to ensure their closing time that day/night). They have a ‘subject to change’ hours policy.

Having just moved back to the area I wanted to find a good Indian place near the house. All the food here is made at the time of order and is from fresh, non-prepackaged sources, and is even gluten free. They have a dinner buffet that is kept purposefully at a minimum so that it is always fresh and hot, so if your eating the buffet and have more than 5, call ahead. We ordered from the menu to get it as hot as possible. I’ve had spicier, but I left happy and sweating :) The naan tasted like it just came out the oven and the curry had every element you expect to be in it He owner is very pleasant and is proud of his recipes. Let Khan sit with you a bit and tell you about it personally. You’ll be glad you did.

This place is absolutely delicious. The food is fresh and flavorful. The owner and waitress really sell the restaurant. They are the real assets of the place. Jessica really sells the restaurant. Also, the food for the buffet comes out in smaller portions. That ensures the food is fresher. Also, the fresh naan is another plus. Come and eat here because you won’t be disappointed.

If you are trying indo-pak food for the first time, please dont try here ! Majority of the people eating here are neither indians nor pakistanis because they know the food is tasteless and not delicious. Waitress is not well organised, has a hard time multi-tasking and prioritizing !

Delicious, authentic Indian food here at home in Baton Rouge. I love the buffet. The service is excellent, they really want you to enjoy your experience with it if you’re new to Indian food like my girlfriend was.

Delicious halal Pakistani restaurant we tried out on our way from Houston to NOLA. The complimentary garlic naan with the buffet was scrumptious. Everything was fresh and hot. We really enjoyed the fried fish also. The place had a lot of character. The employees and owner seemed very happy to be there and host the guests.

I must say this is some of the best Indian food I have ever eaten. I’ve traveled around India, lived in NYC and London… where some of the best Indian food exists outside of India. This food is right up there with the best. It’s authentic and fresh. We got it to go… and it was well worth the 12 mile drive for us. We’re already planning what we’ll try when we go back. The owner is gracious and welcoming and very proud of his restaurant. Did I mention you can text your order? They were very prompt in responding and asking questions to make sure our food was prepared to our liking. Very impressed!

I don’t usually write a lot of reviews but this place deserves 5 stars. If you want to splurge on Indian food this is the place. The buffet has good varieties. Also the hospitality is commendable. By far one of the best Indian restaurant I have visited in the U.S.

Just ate here for lunch with two friends. Absolutely loved the food. It was my first time eating authentic Indian food, and I was not disappointed! I have food intolerances(dairy & gluten) and did not feel restricted with what I could have. My friend is vegan and there were plenty of options for both of us. Mr. Khan was so hospitable. Even offered us a vegan, GF dessert! Highly recommend

I love this place. The buffet is very simple and offers only the best. It’s a single line buffet as they are smart enough and small enough to only cook want is needed. Fresh naan to order. They have plain, garlic, and feta cheese(for a dollar more). It you like authentic and spicy this is the place. FYI — they are closed on Mondays.

From lunch the buffet is a super value. 3 – 4 entrees and choose of 2 rices. Some vegetable dishes. Has choose of fresh nann and small sweet treat at the end. All for under $ 12. Food is tasty and seemingly authentic. Very simple inside and one server to handle small dining room. It is about value and simple lunch. Will be back

This might be the BEST Indian food in Louisiana! Incredibly fresh ingredients and lean, high-quality meat. The spices were en pointe — not too light, nor heavy-handed — absolutely perfect! The rice was fluffy & every grain elongated & defined: proof of excellent technique. The restaurant owner & staff were very friendly & generous with their wares… And the dining room, immaculate… Impressively clean. This was my very first visit to Curry-N-Kabob, but it sure won’t be my last. We absolutely LOVED it!

I heard about this place through friends and boy was I in for a treat. Delicious fresh food! I could make a meal on the naan alone! I suggest the garlic one. Wow just so good. The paneer was my favorite.

After glowing reviews from friends, I decided to give them a try for lunch. I didn’t have much time so I ordered a chicken biryani to go. Upon calling, mr. khan requested that I text my order. I did and I promptly received an order confirmation with time estimate. When I arrived, the food was ready to go, it’s not too big of a space but it smells wonderful in there. One day I will have to try their lunch buffet. Now to the biryani, it was good… not great. It wasn’t oily like some biryanis I’ve had so that alone is great. I assume the way they season their biryani is by an onion/garlic paste that they add to the rice and mix. The reason I assume this is because i had little chunks of it through my rice that didn’t quite mix in well, my food was good once I kinda mixed it around a bit.

I’m going to be honest I recently went back to Curry n Kabab and the restaurant has declined in every aspect. The service that used to be done has declined drastically. The service is now done by one lady who never refilled my glass until I asked her. She also took a good 15 minutes getting my bill after I had asked, due to her having a conversation about her personal life to another table. The food itself has also gone down in quality. Most of the curries and the bririyani has gone down in quality. The only things that have maintained their quality are the tandori chicken and the naan, which is still made to order. Thoroughly dissapointed as of late.

The BEST chicken tikka masala in Baton Rouge. Hands down. And the student discount is amazing — $ 11 for a buffet of this quality on Sundays just can’t be beat. Also, you’d better hope you’re here on the days they have their pistachio dessert. All their desserts are amazing — but that especially.

I’m full, but my craving has not been satisfied. It has a small buffet, so you can try everything. A few things were ok, it’s just not my favorite Indian. We had the place to ourselves, except for a few individuals that got something to go. Staff was friendly.

My friend and I have eaten at Curry N Kabab several times. I would have agreed with all the posts about how nice it was, and even have told friends about it. Until this evening, that is. I had gotten my plate of food when my friend came back with his tandoori chicken. I realized I had forgotten to get some. Rather than get another huge plate for two little pieces of chicken I opted for a small bowl. Upon sitting down with my small bowl of two little pieces of chicken I was scolded by the owner for using a bowl that was«for the tomato soup or salad only» instead of a plate. I was scolded like I was a child. There are no signs posted restricting the use of a bowl. Nor do I see the reason to scold a customer aloud for using a bowl. I will not be back. Upon telling said owner that I was not returning all I got in reply was«okay» as though it doesn’t matter. I will no longer refer friends either, that’s for sure.

It’s been a while since I received such outstanding customer service. And I’m not talking about fancy fake smile service, I’m talking about downright welcome-me-with-open-arms homely loving service! The server cum hostess remembered the conversation I had had wth her months ago and even remembered I liked their take out buffet — the last time I was here was about 14 months ago!!! The owner stopped by and offered me a free taste of his tomato soup while I waited for my to go order — ‘perfect for the rainy day it was’ he said, and I couldn’t agree more! The place honestly is very average looking in terms of décor and I don’t usually see a lot of people when I go — but when I go close to closing time. They do deliver within a 5 mile radius I think, but there is a $ 10 charge. Now for the food — I am a sucker for a good samosa, and I think they do a pretty decent job. It’s not perfect but way better than the deal served by bayleaf honestly! They will make the hand chapati for me(makes me miss home) and won’t charge me a fortune for a little pot of pickle(ahem, India’s) I love the tomato soup, the Dal tadka and the Chana masala the best. Raita is pretty damn yummy too. I haven’t tried any of their chicken stuff yet — j grew up as a veggie person so I usually only crave vegetarian indian food. But honestly, I like the service here so much, I would eat pretty much anything they made, ha ha! They pack the food carefully, never forget bits of my order and always add enough silverware to keep me happy! Their deserts are kinda average, but then I’m not much of a sweets person anyways. Do yourself a favor and stop by this place — don’t think you will regret it! :)

Probably the nicest owner of a restaurant you’ll ever meet. I really appreciate how he explains their philosophy of food and what ingredients they use. For people who don’t love buffet style places, this is very helpful. First, they could probably double the price for the buffet. It’s very inexpensive and the food is always good. I could go on and on abut the Naan, but I would need about two hours to finish singing its praises and that would get old. The CTM is excellent here, the best in town. Their curries are excellent and the fried fish(when fresh) is actually pretty good. Cons are similar to most buffets(if you don’t order off menu) — sometimes the food has sat a while and temperature variations take the food down a notch. But if you’re there during peak hours, that’s not usually a problem as the buffet itself is very small so food gets rotated a lot. I do wish they had more variation in their options, but they are limited by space as well. The venue is not very large at all.
