Must stop place if you’re near by. The owner was there to greet us as we walked in and was very hospitable. Highly recommend«The Morning Glory» dog.

We stopped at this place on our way back to Houston. When we went inside we were greeted by the guys very nicely and explained the choices on their menu. The food was ready very fast. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is because it was hot inside while we were eating. Other than that this place is great!

Gotta love them dawgs. They offer a moderate selection of choices at reasonable prices. This place almost resembles a food cart deal with its dog + fries + canned soda combo(great things in my opinion). I tried their Red Dawg and I can’t say that I was terribly impressed. The casing on the dog was undercooked and the flavors didn’t mix very well. The place itself didn’t have very good AC inside so it was fairly warm and there were flies around. I understand that bugs could get into any restaurant at any point but it really takes away from enjoying the food when you’re having to judo chop flies away from your dog. The servers there however were nice and easy going. There were many other hot dog selections to choose from so I’d be willing try to give it a second chance.

The dogs are GREAT and so are the tots, but the fried pickles were all kinds of wrong :-(know this. They could work on that particular item. Still giving 4 stars because of the 1st2 items mentioned. Side note: beverages are limited to choices of pop cans/bottled water. Not sure if it’s byob but that would be a good question to ask them. Again: Dogs & tots: YES Friend pickles: NO Coming back: hell yeah Peace out

Helloooo scrumptious cheap eats. This place is awesome, and the guys are hilarious, so you’ll get some laughs in while you wait for your food. I haven’t had EVERYTHING on the menu, but I’ve heard you pretty much can’t go wrong. I’ve liked everything I’ve tried so far!

This place is dope. I decided to give it another try after they changed owners and I am so glad I did. The Red Dawg is f*cking awesome. And their wieners are huge.

Tried this place for lunch while my parents were in town and wow were we impressed. Awesome food, good service, and the outdoor seating was comfortable and casual. Definitely recommend you check this place out.

I would honestly give the food 3 stars, but since the place itself was super cute, I’ll give them an extra star. I am a hot dog fan, but clearly I’m not a gourmet hot dog fan because even the dog itself wasn’t that impressive to me. I went with my husband and two young girls, and my husband loved everything about the hot dogs while I was not so sure about them. I tried the Chuck Norris, which was a hot dog topped with bacon, grilled onions, cheese, & jalapeños. I think what had me the most disappointed was the bacon was not even crispy. I always prefer crispy over chewy with all my food, so that set the stage for me to be disappointed. The rest of it was so so. Nothing gourmet about the cheese that I could tell, and the grilled onions weren’t that great either as they were also soggy like the bacon. Perhaps adding fried onions would be a nice kick because I didn’t find anything impressive. The kids meals were plentiful and well worth the price as they were loaded with tator tots. My girls barely ate the hot dogs, but their preferences aren’t to take note of since they were distracted by the tv in the side dining room anyway. My husband and I didn’t order sides, so we tackled their tator tots just fine;-) Regarding the atmosphere, that was really my favorite part. The inside building itself was small, but what I loved was the outside picnic tables and small fenced in dog area. I can see how this place would be a hit with locals who could just walk over with their pups and relax outside when the weather is nice. The service was also good, and the staff was tolerant of my two hooligan children ;-) That’s always important to me as some places clearly don’t want kids around. Chances are we’ll be back, and I’ll just plan to try something different like the boudin dog next time.

Here’s a place that prepares hot dogs the way I prefer, with more emphasis on the wiener than the condiments. Some places over-smother the dog with a sky-high of seemingly everything but the kitchen sink. But Frank’s garnishes its dogs with just enough treats to enjoy their flavor but not overpower the juicy succulence of the big fat tube of meat cradled in an egg bun. And the dogs are definitely big, twice the cross-sectional area of a standard wiener. One dog can feed two-three children. Being my first time here, I was a novice to their girth and unwisely ordered three dogs, each with different toppings. However, my belly was stuffed upon finishing the second one. I made a galant effort to eat the third, but had to cede to the volume of my feast, and opt for a go-box.

I can’t say that I’ve ever really liked hot dogs, but this place offers more than just hot dogs! I got the Boudin Dawg combo(includes fries/tater tots/mac & cheese and a canned drink), and the boudin was grilled to perfection. I love that crispness the casing gets when it is grilled. So delicious! I also got the side of mac & cheese. It was good, but it was a little too«dry» for me. I like my mac & cheese to be a little creamier. Next time, I’ll get the tater tots, and I can assure you, there will DEFINITELY be a next time.

Very clean. Fast. Quality sausage. They use the same cheese for the Mac-n-Cheese as their nacho cheese which is odd. Nice staff

Nice place for a quick bite to eat. Fun variety of hot dog related foods, including alligator and boudin. Food tasted quite good. The place looks a lot more run-down than it needs too. Weeds are growing all through the front patio, and overall this little shack looks like it needs a cleaning schedule. I can’t say anything looked that clean or sanitized. The condiments(ketchup & mustard bottles) on the tables were very sticky and gritty, as were the tables in general. The staff and service was very friendly and helpful. The prices were also very affordable. I’m sure this place is popular with the LSU students because of its affordability and quick service. Aside from the cleanliness, I would recommend — but not for a date. Unless your lady loves hotdogs, you won’t impress her with this local hot spot…

This one of the places I go for a change of pace ! The service is very good, pleasant and helpful if your not familiar with the menu. There’s a few very cool items to try on the menu ! Give Frankie’s a try, you won’t be disappointed !

«Home of the Alligator Corn Dog». I am one of the guilty ones… Frankie’s Dawg House is also one of my guilty pleasures(like Unilocaler Bob L.), especially because they have corn dogs! Corn dogs are my loooooooove! A health nut at heart, but admittedly, I am a corn-dog-a-holic. What can I say, I have a weakness for anything battered in cornmeal and deep fried! Cover a frogs legs or chicken feet in corn meal batter and I will probably eat it! Anyway, if you are looking to be adventurous and tell you friends you lived a little dangerously, definitely try Frankie’s Alligator Corn Dawg! This was waaaaay better than any county fair corn dog I have ever had. Alligator meat in a sausage casing, hand-dipped in the batter and deep fried to perfection! Directly from the fryer to my plate, it was hot and crispy… just how I love my corn dogs! Definitely check out their other variations of corn dogs and if you like hot dogs… they have uniquely dressed ones!

HIGHLYUNSATISFYING. I am from New Orleans but I eat in Baton Rouge often because my boyfriend lives here. Prior to trying Frankie’s, I’ve eaten Dat Dog in New Orleans a million times. Although comparison of two different cities, Frankie’s does not cut it. It’s not up to par with my standards. The hot dog itself has no flavor and tastes like a BAR-S hot dog boiled from home. gross. I saw the cooks cooking. Interactive right? Wrong. I saw him pull items from a freezer and plop it on to the hot top and serve it on my hot dog… not fresh. Always frozen. Even canes has a better motto. Come on. If you want a good hot dog, I’m sure even Sonic has something better to offer than this frozen meat on a bun.

Had my first ever taste of gator here in the form of an alligator corn dog. Must say, it tasted like greasy chicken. The waiter was lovely, attentive and very polite. A great place for lunch or a small bite.

I really like this place. They have some really great food. I just wish I would get a more normal selection on next visit. I always want to try one of the weird choices when I know I just want a good hotdog. And I always add the chili fries even though I know darn well I won’t be able to finish it all. So then I end up leaving miserably stuffed whining to others on the ride home. Oh, and make sure to try a vanilla shake, their freakin good! Go on a nice day and sit outside on the patio and watch tv, very relaxing. You can bring your puppy dog too. We like to stick our two Bostons in Frankie’s Park while we eat.

Best dogs in town, hands down. The service is quick and friendly. You can watch them prepare your food in the kitchen behind the counter. They keep the place extremely CLEAN, which is a rarity from my experience. I enjoyed the Philly Cheese, and have tried the Dawg House as well, both very filling and delicious. The thing that I have to mention that you MUSTTRY however is their tater tots. They are the best I’ve ever had, hands down. Try them plain, or get the loaded tots and enjoy. Prices are solid too, this is a great place for lunch or even dinner on a weeknight. If I lived closer, I would try to hit this place up for late night too.

I loved this place even before they switched owners and got rid of the non-politically correct names(i.e. The Erin Andrews), but now, I kind of love it even more. Since I’ve been on the diet train, I’ve been going healthy(er) so when I hit this place up I go for the Funky Chicken(a new item) and the Classic Chicago Dog. Surprisingly, the Funky Chicken has a significant amount of flavor due in part to the contribution of the sauteed onions and the delicious wow-ee sauce they put on top, but the sausage, made by another Baton Rouge company specifically for Frankie’s, is rather juicy and has a nice pop to it. Not surprisingly, I can’t get enough of the Chicago Dog. What’s not to love about an all beef hot dog with yellow mustard, onion, pickle and tomato slices with neon green relish wrapped in a poppy seed bun and topped with a sport pickle?! Nothing but the Chicago Dog in Chicago itself, that’s what. Frankie’s is a great addition to the casual dining scene in Baton Rouge, and I can’t wait to try some of the new menu items(I’m looking at you, menu items with pork cracklins) when I’m ready to jump off the Weight Watchers wagon for a day or two.

Nothing like this place around town… a true original! The chocolate shake has brownie pieces mixed in!!! I enjoyed sitting outside, eating the good food and watching TV. I had the Bacon&Mac Dawg. They are very generous with the mac and cheese… It was hard to eat it all but it was so good I made myself finish. I forget what my husband had but he liked his as well… Def going back!
