Bae and I decided to rest our human tires in the outdoor bar seating to wet our esophaguses with some quality brewskies. It just so happened that they knew Bae’s favorite team, and Arrieta was swatting them bad ma’amajammas(braves). Good environment, tasteful glassware, cool haired servers. Suave as the Dickens.

My wife and I went to The Mall of Louisiana just to walk around. We were originally going to Red Robin for a burger, but noticed a pizzeria we hadn’t noticed before. I don’t know when it opened, but the exterior was very welcoming to the eye. There is an outside seating area with access to the bar. Imentioned to my wife that I bet that area would be great around early November, but it was very hot today and there was no one eating outside the building. Upon entering, we were promptly welcomed by the hostess and quickly seated. I would say the restaurant was about 90% occupied at noon. The atmosphere was a welcomed change to what we were used to when going out for pizza. Pizza Hut this place was not. Looking at the menu, the prices looked steep, but Ijust returned from Chicago and knew that the prices for this quality of pizza would be more than Dominos. The pizza sizes range from Personal to Large with a medium size in between. I always go large when it comes to pizza, but my wife asked what size pizza the table next to us had. Ithought for sure it would have been a large, but it was a Personal sized pizza. WOW. We opted for the medium sized pizza which ran something like 22 bucks. Not too bad. Thats for the cheese pizza. All ingredients cost anywhere from 2 to 3 dollars extra. We added pepperoni, onions, and jalapenos and the pizza took about 15 minutes or so to come out. The pizza was HUGE. I think it had like 10 slices on it. I’m not gonna lie. I’m a big man, but I was a 3 slice and done. I was full and extremely satisfied. Basically, we had 2 meals for 28 dollars. Awesome! On Tuesdays, Wine is 50% off. I wish I could drink the stuff, but medication prevents me. If I could, I would. It looks like a well stocked bar and a large assortment of wines. I really hope this place sticks around. It would be a great place for any couple who enjoys going out for a night of pizza!

Really good New York style pizza! Tried the white cheese pizza with a few toppings which was very good. The service was quick and friendly and the portions were large. I’ll definitely be back!

As New Yorkers stuck in Louisiana for work right now, grimaldis was a fresh breath of air and reminded us of our city somewhat. Thank God for New York water… Thank you grimaldis for helping us survive this… Moment.

I love the pizza here! The salads are large and tasty. The only pitfall is the small selection of appetizers.

Great lunch or dinner spot after a day of shopping. We sat out on the patio which also has a nice outside bar. The service was friendly and the pizza fresh. They have a large beer and wine selection but the sangria was not my favorite.

I didn’t have a good experience at Grimaldis. I arrived there and it took more than ten minutes before we got some service. I was almost leaving when the waiter decided to stop by to check if we needed something. You can’t have a pizza half a something and the other half another thing. So we needed to order two personal sizes. The size of the pizza was pretty good. Nevertheless I didn’t like the pizza at all. For me it was missing sauce. I ordered a four cheese pizza and one that they call Brooklyn Bridge and I didn’t like neither. I would not recommend this place. I would take any fast food chain instead. For me, Domino’s pizza is way better and with a better price. I was very disappointed with the place and I won’t come back again.

This was possibly the best pizza I have ever had. No lie. I had been hearing so many people raving about it and I had been anxious to try it; but I honestly I never expected it to blow me away like this. We went to Grimaldi’s at 8pm on a Saturday night and were seated right away. I loved the nice large round table we were at. For our party of 6 and a high chair it gave us ample room to enjoy our meal without feeling like we were on top of one another but also allowed us to have a great conversation. The atmosphere is just great. We all thought the wine bottle chandeliers were such a cool touch. I also loved that the music was not overpowering but was loud enough that it set a great mood. My nephew who is 8 thought the pizza dough he was given to play with when we were seated was a really cool touch. He enjoyed trying to work with it right up until his food came. We thought it was pretty cool, too! They even gave a small bit to my 2 year old great niece to play with! Sammie, our waiter was really awesome! He asked us if we had been in before and took his time to explain their three sauces, their pizza sizes and asked if we had any questions. My sister and I chose to share a mushroom and extra mozzarella with original sauce, my daughter chose spinach and bacon with original sauce, one of my nieces chose sausage, pepperoni and mushroom and the other had pepperoni and black olives — both with original sauce. My nephew chose meatballs and extra mozzarella with original sauce. Everyone ordered personal size pizzas except for my sister and I who were sharing — we stepped up to a small. The pizzas arrived in a decent amount of time and although they were a bit staggered coming out we were OK, after all it was 5 pizzas! I will say my sister and I who shared could have stuck with the personal size and still shared! They are really big pizzas. When they say the personal is the size of the plate on the table hey show you — they are actually a bit bigger than that. I liked them because they are incredibly thin crusted and large slices like we get in New York. The crust is amazingly thin and has just the right crunch in all the right places. everyone in our party loved and commented on how much we loved the original sauce. It is not a heavy sauce and has a really great pop of fresh flavor. I cannot stand a thick sauce and so this was perfect to me. The fresh mozzarella was wonderful. Everyone was so happy with our meal. We were already planning our next trip back before we even left! Another great find was their Latte. It was so good my sister had two! It arrived so aromatic and so pretty. We were all commenting on how pretty it was when Sammie told us he was glad to hear it as the waiters hand craft them. I was glad we mentioned it where he could hear because he really did do a nice job. It’s little touches to me that often make a difference in an experience and this one was certainly an A++ experience. Now let’s talk prices. We had 5 pizzas with various toppings, 3 lattes, 3 soft drinks and were out for under $ 90 before tip. AND we brought home enough pizza to share! That’s pretty darn incredible if you ask me. I will definitly be making this a regular spot when i am here in town!

Stopped here for lunch. Soon as we walked in you could smell the pizza. The have the brick oven so your pizza comes out hot and crispy. Ordered a cheese pizza with spicy chicken sausage. Very fresh and tasty. I was impressed. And the staff was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back and recommend this place.

I walked into this restaurant not expecting to be impressed by them. I was mistaken. I have had multiple different pizzas this past week(watch out cholesterol), so I’ve had much pizza to compare this place to. I loved the location and atmosphere. Grimaldi’s is located in the Mall of Louisiana outdoor strip area and the restaurant has a cool, italian pizzeria vibe to it. I love the glass bottle lights hanging from the ceiling! The service was excellent and attentive. An attractive fellow even served us our first slice! I’ve written about diverse pizza lovers several times, so I’ll mention again… there are many aspects pizza lovers have and even require to be pleased by a pizza… quality of the crust, pizza sauce, and toppings. The crust was cooked to my liking, the sauce was decent, and the toppings were great. I ordered the Brooklyn Bridge, which had oven roasted red peppers, ricotta cheese, and italian sausage. There could have been more toppings on the pizza, but overall I enjoyed it. I’ve been to the original Grimaldi’s in New York City. It’s not quite as good as that one and I don’t think it’s under the same ownership, however I enjoyed my experience here.

I came to Grimaldi’s after a lovely afternoon of day drinking to give the pizza my sister has been raving about a try. Our waiter was very prompt when we walked in even though my sister and her husband had been sitting down for quite a while — a plus for our hungry and thirsty selves. We quickly ordered a beer(some sort of IPA) and a small Brooklyn bridge pizza. It was out quickly and was piping hot, with layers of tomato sauce, ricotta and Italian sausage throughout. I enjoyed the fresh crust charred in the pizza oven and the pizza itself was not bad, but for $ 22 for four slices of pizza it missed the mark for me. I’d rather go to a local joint and have a bigger, better pizza and beer for the same price and leave full and satisfied. Sorry Grimaldi’s, I’ll have to leave you for the mall crowd… I’m more of a Schlittz and Red Zeppelin lady.

I wanted to be able to recommend this place but we got a calzone and personal pizza. Close to 30 bucks but you would have thought it was half that. The calzone was ok but the pizza lacked any type of cheese and just had a plain taste. Doubt I go back.

The crust and the brick oven combination is what makes this pizza stand out from your franchised pizza joints. Pizza came out fast which is what happens when you cook pizza in a hot brick oven. We ordered a small and that was large enough for the two of us. I wish the red sauce was sweeter so that is the reason for the 4 stars.

Woah! who hasn’t heard of them chain! This one is like ‘supposed’ to be the best in NYC. And then they come to pretty little Baton Rouge and serve them delicacies. What more do we want. Cool interiors(see pictures), great gallery to sit outside and have those hot fresh baked pizzas. My fav and obviously pepperoni and sausages. Certainly going there again to try their other chef’s selection(or speciality — don’t remember — should have taken more pictures). One large pizza could serve 3 people and costs around 20 $. So its sort of okay price. Bet you would fall for the wine(I am not sure about their collection). But the whole place reeks of relaxed awesomeness. Okay! obviously some may not like it that much — but then I love pizzas! And hence the stars :)

I stopped by Friday at 4:15 pm hungry and ready for a New York style pie. I was told the oven was being stoked so no pizza or calzons for 45 minutes. I decided to stroll around the courtyard and shop a bit. A new pair of fancy flip flops later I stroll back to Grimaldi’s at 4:50 pm. I sit down at the bar and the friendly bartender tells me he can’t place my order for 10 minutes. No worries I think cause the place is empty except for the guy beside me drinking wine and eating salad and 10 more minutes isn’t so bad. 10 minutes sail by and the bartender punches in our orders. Ahhhh. Only minutes away from pizza now! People start trickling in but my order is first so I’m not worried. 10 more minutes sail by and the manager comes over with bad news. The oven won’t be ready until 5:30. I am seriously starving and annoyed and so I ask what can you do to make this up to me? An extra topping perhaps? No she says we can’t give you extra toppings but how about a salad on the house? I accept and I must say the house salad was delicious. Roasted red pepper strips, green olives, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and crisp romaine. And the small salad could feed at least 2 people. As I am munching on my salad I glance at my phone and notice it’s 5:40 and here comes the manager again. After asking how the salad was she informs me it will be another 10 to 15 minutes because the oven is too hot and needs to cool down a bit. The place is filling up, it’s Friday evening, and Grimaldi’s is still a no pizza zone. The manager did keep stopping by and apologizing and her concern seemed genuine. The pizza was tasty but not fantastic enough to endure the comedy of errors. I hope this location solves their service issues and turns things around. I really don’t see this location keeping the doors open if they don’t. 5 stars for the attentive bartender and sincere effort from the manager and minus 2 for the kitchen fiasco.

Service is questionable at best, but this is some of the tastiest pizza in Baton Rouge, in my opinion. I thought maybe the weird service was due to it just opening, but I went back a few weeks ago, and service was equally not great. The first time, we were ignored at first… then when the waitress realized her mistake(not visiting us for 15 minutes), she WAAAY over-compensated by smothering us! We could barely have a conversation, we were being checked on so much. This past time, we got our checks before we were finished, and we weren’t asked if we wanted dessert(we did, duh). They were also out of sangria. Womp womp. Anyway, I’m a big fan of the pesto pizza with fresh roma tomatoes. They have large portions(a small pizza is enough for two people). Plus, they have a Thin Mint cheesecake right now(seasonal) that is super rich and extremely tasty. Definitely worth trying.

Grimaldi’s has made it to Baton Rouge, y’all! The first time I ever indulged at a Grimaldi’s was in Vegas. I was pretty stoked it opened here so I planned a lunch date with the boyfriend. He works at the mall so there was a bit of planning on my part: order pizza, text him when to come over and feast! Upon arriving I was politely greeted by two out of town helpers. They were from Texas — hell yeah, my people! I let them know that I was meeting someone but I wanted to go ahead and be seated so that I could order. There was no wait so things were looking smooth. My waiter came over and I told him my situation. I asked how long it would take for a pizza to make it to the table and he confirmed the 20 minute wait as had the greeters. Things were looking good. I texted my boyfriend to make it over in about 10 – 15 minutes as I had just placed my order. When my boyfriend arrived I had our waiter bring over a root beer and I told him that we would like the trio for dessert. Two minutes later the dessert trio arrived and I asked the young lady who delivered it when our pizza would arrive. She seemed puzzled and said she would check. She never came back. I had been waiting 27 minutes since I placed my order. A manager came over and apologized for the dessert coming out first. She said she would figure it out and we never saw her again. It took 35 minutes for our pizza to make it to our table. If I had all the time in the world then this wouldn’t have been a problem but we were on a time crunch. We got our pizza so the hanger subsided until I took a bite. Pork. There was pork in my vegetarian pizza. My waiter summoned over another manager and he asked what the problem was. I explained the pork and I told him I was a vegetarian. He said sorry a few times in a robotic manner and I made the excuse ‘it must have mixed in from another pizza.’ He didn’t offer a solution and also seemed baffled by the dessert coming out first. He said he would check it out and I didn’t see him until I was leaving. He was busy cackling over in a corner with other employees. Grimaldi’s is a cool joint. I love the italian/picnic style tablecloths and upcycled lights(wine bottles). I love the dimly lit appearance, the old-style music and the pizza is pretty good. What I did not appreciate was the lack of customer service. The lack of care. Good thing I’m not anti-pork due to religious or animal activist reasons because they failed me in their lack of empathy. They took care of dessert but it didn’t make up for the fact that I ingested pork and I watched two other FAMILIES receive their pizza before I did when I had been seated before them. They’re new, I get it. They have a long way to go. I suggest you wait 6 – 8 months, maybe even a year as everything is a lot slower in Baton Rouge before you try it out.
