Rotolo’s Pizzeria – Perkins

The food was all good. I went with a big group with my coworkers. We got two appetizers since they are half off till 6 weekdays. We got the spinach artichoke dip and mozzarella sticks. The pita bread that the spinach artichoke dip came with was soft and sorta fluffy but surprisingly good. The mozzarella sticks were basically equivalent to a cheese pizza slices into strips with marinara sauce. It wasn’t bad but not what one would expect. Drinks are buy one get one till 6 too weekdays.
Our server was friendly but you could tell she wasn’t used to big groups. She kept mixing up drinks and she mixed up the calzones when they brought them out. She also forgot what everyone ordered and had to come ask before she split the ticket. It is busy on Wednesdays since its $ 5.99 calzones so I’ll cut her some slack.
They have many calzones to choose from and you are allowed to choose any of them for $ 5.99. If you want to create your own you can choose 3 toppings for $ 5.99 but their kinds they offer seem to be a better deal.

Never had a bad meal at this location. Their pepperoni pizza is always hot and consistent. Dare I say the best pizza in Baton Rouge? Good location and nice atmosphere.

I designed my own calzone. There wasn’t much cheese in it and it was baked a little longer than it should have been. Even with the aid of dipping sauces, overbaking rendered the final product very dry. On a higher note the server was attentive and bubbling with energy.

Pizza was really good, I ordered a 12″ pizza half mushroom and half pepperoni mushrooms.
The staff was friendly, unfortunately I don’t remember our waitress name but she was awesome.
The place is nice, well decorated and with several tv’s. Most important, it was very clean.
I definitely come back.

Really like the food at this place and especially at this location. Friendly service and pretty good pizzas! We usually come here a couple of times a month.

I finally made it to happy hour at this location and I was excited to try the ½ off appetizers and enjoy 2 for 1 libations (I love a bargain). It was 3 pm so it wasn’t busy. Service was fast and friendly, I opted for the stacked eggplant appetizer and a pint of miller lite draft.
The food came out piping hot and the portion was larger than I’d expected. I could taste the eggplant in the appetizer, but the dish was a little on the mushy side. It was tasty and very filling and I was grateful that it wasn’t one of those oily versions. In fact I would order it again.
What impressed me today was the warm friendly attitude of the staff and the awesome value available during happy hour. Even premium items and pitchers are 2 for 1 so next time I think I’ll bring a crowd and try a few other items.

Just ordered calzones last night for four. Each one was hot and delicious!

Family friendly restaurant with delicious pizza! Their signature Sweep the Floor combination of pepperoni, cheddar, feta, Parmesan and bacon is a family favorite! We go for that almost every time! Their gelato is terrific. Especially on a warm chocolate brownie!
If you want a quick appetizer that is also delicious, the breadsticks come out fast with butter and seasonings on top. Amazing!

Just tried their personal pizza, calzone, & pasta salad. The salad was amazing. Pizza and calzone were on point. Def will be returning. Good neighborhood establishment.

I am surprised about the reviews for this location. I have always received outstanding service and get plenty of refills, which is my main standard for evaluating service when I eat out (I hate slurping what’s left after my ice melts).
Bottom line is that I’m sure there are pitfalls in their service when they’re really busy, but I always have a good experience. And the food is delicious, as we’ve come to expect with the other locations. I think I’ve had dreams about the four cheese calzone.

It is alright as far as the pizza. Apparently from the other reviews it might just be the location. I have not had any problems with service here both with pick-​up and dine-​in. There was a pretty rough looking pizza place I went to when I first moved to BR and I swear it was called rotolos. Either way I had a calzone there that I remember to this day was really good. This place does not have that, more of a manufactured taste.

I’ve been to all of the Rotolos around here and all good experiences, even at this one a few months back was great BUT I have to warn everyone about the swing shift we just experienced. The place was empty and our service was horrible! It was a full shift of young looking college kids all just standing around talking without a care in the world. We had to walk up to the counter to get our side salads that we usually get 5 – 10 minutes before our meal. Needless to say all of our food was ready and waiting to be brought out. Very disappointed in service over here.

I LOVE Rotolo’s in general. I HATE this location. Period.
The staff. My God. Where do I start? Probably not the beginning. I would think that the training program or lack thereof at this place doesn’t exist. The waitstaff is dressed sloppy, they look dirty and most importantly, they are rude as hell.
I called in a take out order of a soup and salad combo with an order of breadsticks. Easy enough, right? When I arrived… I was quoted a totally different price than I was over the phone. The new host, who had no hosting skills attempted to explain to me why he quoted me something different on the phone. I already wasn’t interested due to his snarky and bitchy attitude from the second I walked in the door, but I got past it real quick because I was starving and just wanted to get back to my office to enjoy my soup, salad and share my breadsticks with a coworker. it came time to pay… TIME TO PAY THE DIFFERENT AMOUNT, so I paid it… it was $ 10 and some change. The change owed to me was $ 1.49. This kid asked me «do you want your change?» I took my RayBans off of my face, looked at him, and said «You sure aren’t keeping it.» He sashayed to the kitchen to get my order. I asked the host if everything was correct in the bag… he assured me it was. So silly me, took his word for it WHEN I KNEW BETTER. I left Rotolo’s. Got back to my office only to realize there were NO BREADSTICKS and the soup was cold. I have never been one to call and complain about food or service, but I was so pissed off at that kid working the host stand and taking to go orders, I had to call management. I talked to the manager, she was extremely friendly, we talked about what happened, she comped my next meal and I went and got it the next week.
Wanna take a gander at who gave me my order and said aloud «Are you here to get the COMP ORDER?”(I thought to myself… Lord, please don’t direct me to jump over this counter and whip this kids ass at his work…» I smiled and said, «you’re damn right, is it ready?» The same bitchy male host handed it to me, I left and I am never going back to that location. I love the one by campus, at least the staff is friendly and or still hungover from the night before!

I like Rotolo’s pizza but this is not a location I plan on eating at again. I will definitely come here for carry out though.
I came here one Friday with my dad because we wanted a quick dinner. That quick dinner slowly turned into a two and a half hour ordeal. We each ordered separate pizzas and ordered a round of beers. About an hour went by and we inquired about our pizza. It seems they had lost our order and promised to correctly promptly. Another hour went by and they finally brought out a pizza to which the waitress said «Yay! Your pizza is finally ready!». The problem was they forgot my pizza. As I was allergic to something that was on my father’s pizza I had to wait another thirty minutes to finally eat.
Thankfully the manager comped our meal and took care of us, but the next few times I came I received better but still inadequate service.
If you want take out this location is fine, but I would avoid eating inside.

Rotolos makes an awesome pizza and the crew is very nice as well. Their pizza is infinitely better than most I’ve had in BR. They have a good beer and liquor selection as well, its a great place to catch the game as well. I highly recommend this place to anybody who likes good pizza served by good people.
