Where else can you pay $ 5.00 and see so many works of photography, sculptors, paintings and decorative arts around the city. They host special exhibits so there’s always something new to see in addition to their permanent collection of Louisiana’s artistic heritage. This is quality time spent. On a side note I do feel non-flash photos should be allowed for all exhibits so you can share on social media and drive patrons to the museum. They offer a home school program, poetry/open mic nights, film screenings, lectures and a gift shop. Rentals are also available if you have a large family or event.

Love this Museum. I wish they could relocate to a different space. I envision a much larger space probably away from downtown BTR. Very thankful to have an art museum in this city. The citizens of BTR need to support for further growth. Spread the word and become a member.

Admission was really inexpensive. They had local art, Asian jade, and modern pieces. It was small, but still worth checking out. Here’s a video I made: Update: So my coworker told me that the museum is more than one floor. Guess this may not be a fair review as we didn’t know and only went to one floor.

There is always something interesting to see at the LSU Museum of Art. We visited last week and saw a Clementine Hunter display plus an exhibit focused on transport with a huge train set! This is part of First Sunday of the Month is Free Admission in Baton Rouge! Great view of the Mississippi River from the museum!
