Planet Fitness – Baton Rouge

Very clean and convent. They are open 24 hours, and they have very reasonable rates. The gym is nice. They have some strange rules, but for the most part, it’s worth the money.

This is just the type of gym that I needed. Convenient location, plenty of parking, I never have to wait for the cardio machines, and just $ 10 a month. TVs everywhere, free WiFi, and the staff is always helpful.

Planet Fitness is the base model of gyms. It has the standard workout equipment, ellipticals, treadmills, stair steppers, workout bikes and the likes. There’s also smaller rooms that are dedicated to targeted 30 minute workouts or maybe 12 minute workouts for abs. On the other side there is a section with weighted equipment for those who like to lift weights. There’s a small section with free weights that I find quite hard to get to. The best times if you want that equipment is probably early morning or late night. The downside of Planet Fitness is that they are not equipped with scales, classes, pools, saunas, steam rooms, basketball/​tennis courts, etc. But that’s where the savings come in. All those extras would cost upwards of 20 to 30 dollars more for membership at the larger gyms. So if you are training for the iron man competition this may not be the place for you. Those who like me just want to stay in shape or maintain health you’ll fit right in.

Went as a guest with a friend (for free!) and loved it! Lots of great equipment and some extras.

I don’t have a membership here but my buddy does, and with his $ 20 (a month) membership he is allowed one guess EVERYDAY. This place is huge and has plenty machines. The locker room is important to me. I hate dirty bathrooms and what not. But man I tell you there showers and locker rooms are so clean and kept up its amazing. The water in the showers are always hot no matter how many are in use at the same time. I love this place!
