Brought the car in with no other issues than a torn boot. When I picked it up the car was making a very loud clunk from the front end. Brought it back and the service person said to leave it and they would look at it. Called me Monday morning and said it needed front end strut bearings because they were old. I explained this isn’t possible as I had personally changed them just recently. They explained that their«suspension expert» had looked it over and that’s what they found. They said for another $ 390 they could change them out. I decided to take the car back and check it for myself. As a side note while the car was in their possession someone cleaned out $ 8 in change from the coin holder, they said I was either mistaken or that maybe someone from the Sonic drive thru next door cleaned it out while the car sat on their lot… utterly insulting and ridiculous. Yesterday I had a chance to check the car myself, I had my wife push on the front of the car and in less than three minutes diagnosed the problem. Both the left and right side sway bar links were loose. The problem here is the following, I found what their expert couldn’t in the span of three minutes, there’s absolutley no reason they would need to touch these for the job they did. Lastly if they were loose prior to the car going in, even just a turn the car would have made the noise. These weren’t loose, they were on the verge of falling out. I tightened them up and the car was fine again. I drove over to tell the manager what I found and he admitted they wouldn’t have touched those in the scope of the original repair. The entire time I laid out my complaint he couldn’t look me in the eye, they had no explanation on how both sides could be loose. Offered no apology for the missing change or even reimbursement and to top it all off at the end asked if I still wanted to change out the part that wasn’t faulty to begin with… Seriously? I’ve used them in the past but will never use or recommend them again.

Skid Marks on Coursey is all around 5 stars, and wish I could give it more than 5! Being a typical female, I don’t know much about cars and mechanics, but the staff was very detailed in explaining to me what was wrong with my vehicle and the different options available. The waiting area is definitely the best I have ever seen in a mechanic shop(and I’ve been to a LOT since my vehicle constantly needs maintenance, but I haven’t found one I like yet except for today!) There’s lovely plush chairs, a coffee/soda bar for the customers, phone charging station, and free wifi. The customer service is outstanding, and very attentive, and the mechanics themselves are quick and hard working and know their stuff! John is always cheerful upon answering the phone, and gives a very warm welcome to the customers. This quality of customer service gives me the«warm fuzzies»… Other shops in Baton Rouge could definitely take a good lesson in customer service, quality of service, and cleanliness. Go to Skid Marks for our mechanic & tire needs(but don’t make skid marks– drive safe people!)

Very good people. My husband brought our truck in bc it had a screw in the tire. We were leaving the next day for a road trip, so the tire had to be replaced. A worker recognized my husband’s name and informed the manager his was in the military. The manager approached my husband, and asked him if he was still in the military. My husband told him he was, and the gentleman told him our service would be free of charge. This kind of service was so refreshing in Baton Rouge. We will definitely be back for all our automotive repair needs.
