Stein Mart

This location carries a wide assortment of men’s and women’s shoes at a fraction of the cost you will pay at other retail stores. The shoe department is always neat and organized so you can easily locate shoes and sizes. They do offer sales on selected items but usually their sale excludes the shoe department.
They offer a huge selection of decorative pillows, bedding, linens and bath towels and accessories. I can always find great bargains in the men’s section with brands like Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and Calvin Klein. They also have London Fog outerwear.
The women’s department carries a nice but small selection of pajamas and robes and undergarments.
I know I can always find a nice house warming gift birthday, anniversary or Christmas presents without having to track to the mall.

I went here on Black Friday — also went to Stage. If I give Stage 4 stars then Stein Mart gets 4 stars as well. This location is much busier than Stage and with its yearly Black Friday promotion there is a strong following of people who will be there — actually I have been there over thanksgiving weekend the last several years. Stein mart has same business plan as stage, Marshalls etc and in comparison to the Baton Rouge Stage, the size and inventory of stein mart is so much more. One thing I think this Stein Mart seems to have a niche is a strong belief that its bed linens and comforters are the things to buy over Black Friday. As they should and thankfully I have seen — customer service is solid over Black Friday. My only complaint with stein mart is that the times I have been there it seems as if the plan is to always have offerings such that in comparison to other stores it does give me a sense of being overly cluttered. This is something I observed and while it may be a deterrent to some, it is not one for me.

Went here to buy a present for a friend on my lunch break and as i put the items on the counter and was looking for my wallet the cashier was fumbling with the sign that says line closed. I thought it was rude but i apologized and i told him i can get in the other line, he said «don’t worry about it is just my lunch» so needles to say I haven’t been back.
