Can I give this place no stars? We had just finished brunch at chef mickeys and my husband stopped to grab an iced latte. The woman took forever to walk over to us, despite having no other customers. He asked the woman while ordering if she could please add the sugar before she added the ice to the hot espresso, because if done afterwards it wouldn’t melt the granules. She told him he could add it afterwards. He then explained to her what I just wrote above, and she nodded. He ended up getting his drink with no sugar. He had to add it after the fact, while trying to manage a rambunctious one year old in his arms. When I met up with my husband at the counter after taking my four year old to the bathroom, he was struggling to add the sugar as the lady(who was leaning up against the counter with NO other customers) just watched on. That is NOT the type of service I expect from a Disney employee. I contacted WDW customer service and am still waiting for a response from them.

A bit of a hidden gem off to the side as you enter the main lobby. Basic coffee shop items with Disney prices. What I liked was that they were open at 6am giving me an option before standard Resteraunts opened. Also the quality of the pastries were very good as a matter of fact In my opinion any item here beats any desert item at the Contempo Café the QSR upstairs. I found myself here for treats and caffeine pick me ups often when at the hotel

This is just a lobby area coffee bar, convenient for those heading out to the buses and other attractions at Disney, leaving the Contemporary Resort’s main tower. The coffee is excellent, and the giant donuts feed three people! They carry a variety of breakfast pastries, much like a Starbucks would, and have no official«seating», though there are some giant ottoman/sofa pieces in a window in front of the location. A great choice, I think you can use your Magicband to use your meal plan.

Holy Rip Off!!! Do Not Go Here! Major Fail Disney! Seriously, Starbucks would be better. We ordered lattes, they were terrible, could not drink them, burnt and very bitter coffee and watered down. $ 5 for the latte only size 16oz. The fruit smoothies $ 6 in a 12oz cup, no fresh fruit, again watered down. The doughnuts were good, hence the one star. Only one person working the counter, very slow service. Get your coffee fix somewhere else, I expect better of disney, very disappointed.

Great cup of jo! I got up early and let the family sleep. I decided I’d head over to Hollywood Studios as soon as it opened and get a fastpass for Toy Story and surprise them. Spring break wait times were as high as two hours and I don’t care how good the ride is, I’m not waiting that long. I really needed a jump start and I found Contemporary Grounds located in the lobby of the Contemporary Hotel right at the front door. No line. Walked up, coffee black, tapped my room key on the cool new RFID box and I was off. Quick tip. I made it quickly over to HS and got the Toy Story fastpass. The other ride we wanted to do was Test Track in Epcot so I jumped on the boat transport which took me in the back entrance to Epcot. It was empty. Nobody. Incredible. I loved it. Walked over to Test Track and got another fastpass. I may have found a flaw in their system, or the Disney gods were taking care of me because I don’t think you can get fastpasses for two rides at the same time. I think it was because it was rides at two different parks. Right about this time the wife called and said they were jumping on a bus and would meet me at HS. I again took the boat and went back to HS. Met the family at the gate and fast passed our way right onto Toy Story. The non fastpass wait time was already 90 minutes and it was only 10:30am. So this is my plan from now on. Daddy wake up early. Coffee at Contemporary Grounds. Fastpasses. Family well rested. Happy wife, happy life.

From huge three-dollar pastries to drip and espresso-based coffee drinks, when you need a cheap reason to get out of the heat and lounge on cushy sofas, Contemporary Grounds is the perfect escape. If you’ve been at Walt Disney World in summer, you know how hot it can get. Let me tell you that the lobby of the Contemporary Resort is delightfully cool, and their sofas and chairs are the perfect place to hang out while slowly sipping your double espresso or pretending to be an entire pack of hyenas set loose in the Pridelands while devouring an icing-bukkaked chocolate croissant the size of a 7-Eleven microwave burrito. And if you’re a pin trader, you can indulge that craven desire as well, right around the corner. Ask at the concierge desk — on the far end, away from the porte-cochere(that’s French for«registration parking only», right?), down by «The Wave… of American Flavors». Something tells me they had to add«…of American Flavors» after that 1981 after-school special about how easy it is to get high-school students to be dangerously conformist.(In other news, water is wet.)
